  • This was a video of a mere stopping service, that turned Into a partial semi fast as it skipped Knockholt for some reason. given the nature of the class 465 alstom variation, the driver could go full pelt into speeds above 50 and 60mph and even 70mph really Comfortably.
I took it upon myself to film some footage of the performance during the wet weather (meaning there weren't many " off the mark" full pelt acceleration instances, sometimes the driver only using notch 3 entirely, giving off a "sluggish" impression at times)
But despite that, the Driver was feeling trigger happy and drove fast enough to give me some nice clips!! hope you enjoy characterful sounds of the 465s and visuals!!

The 465/2s (despite being in storage), 465/9s and 466s have better motors than the other Southeastern trains on the "Mainline" and "Metro" services!

Yep, they sure do (i am the same owner of this video, but on another account)

One was 913 I think and the other was vague to me it was 92x I don't remember the other, and the 466 was on the back. I was barely rested that day lol.

@Solomon Clarke been doing some thinking. Wiki is probably wrong about the original power output of class 465s (1200kw) even Now it sais the power output is over 2000kw for the 465s, (we know that's ludicrous, based on power averages for third rail power I.e 1100kw to 1300kw 100mph 4 car units , typically heavier ones) that being said , even the original power stat for 465s on wiki "1200kw" may also be wrong too. It doesent make sense. The older gen 319s /317s etc used less than 1000kw but still made it to 60mph in decent time despite having DC motors. 465s being the same weight, geared down, and using AC motors produce similar torque but given the lower gearing ratio, I won't be suprised if they still use less power than 317s/319s,321 (mk3s) (alsp 465s have limited torque as a result of third rail obvs). I can only reason that they use the same level or less power than mk3s. I.e 900kw. It's obvs an assumption but the stats for mk3s are more accurate or certain (because its been confirmed online by other sources apparently- read rail forums for info on mk3s power etc) and lastly they only have 4 motors , likely not as powerful as an AC motor, so likely capped around 200kw to 250kw each , as also mentioned by wiki and other forum info.
If this is true, then the 465s are really power efficienct lmao. Not 2000kw not 1200kw (electrostars use around this power and weigh significantly more than 465s leading me to believing more that they use less than 1000kw esspecially with the gearing ratio being lower) I also belive 365s may have used less power than the wiki stats too. May be 1250kw was the OHLE power stat (wiki based source). They were 12 tons lighter than electrostars, so it's feasible.
Was a bit of a random rant or vent, but I thought it would be cool for you to gain my opinion on it.
A further last example would be 313s , they have a relitive power output (according to wiki again haha) of aprox, 660kw , meaning if I decided that number by the number of carriages and multiplied it by 4 to give it enough reletive power to a 3 car, you'd get just about 880kw for a theoretical 4 car 313. Meaning if the 313s can also get to 60mph in reasonable time (as demonstrated in your video uphill) but still have similar time to 60mph to a 317 on AC then that's essentially similar to a 465 to 60mph (not exactly but similar, 465s are still alot better lol) so winding this back to the 465s , I don't believe they use 1200kw, I think that's actually overkill given all the variables I've mentioned. Of course this is just deductive reasoning, not complete fact.

      @@gapthemind--mindthegap8524 Idk, I think /9s use more power/torque than /0s and /1s. That's for sure.
