Yeah, the storage lag is only if you up the Clarity setting. Otherwise, there is no lag on any of the pre-loaded film sims, nor any ones you change without adjusting Clarity. You can still shoot like a monkey on meth.
there is a lens Hood from a third part company that you can attach a filter too. Here on youtube there a videos about people reviewing these lens hood alternatives for x100v
@@craigpatchett3508 you don't need a lens hood for weather sealing, you need a UV filter. None of lens hood, including the one from Fuji, provides weather sealing.
This was one of those simple, to the point videos i truly enjoyed. It was less about the specs and more about getting the camera out of the way and enjoying life/family. Creative burnout is a real thing with big gear.
this was such a great video. so glad you had a great time with your family and you were able to balance capturing the moment while being present. such a hard balance to find sometimes
There is *no better camera* for parents and families. You can live in the moment so much more with your kids than a big bulky I-hope-I-have-the-right-lens-on camera. I love memories, and I love the gorgeous and sometimes imperfect photos Fujifilm has given me.
Wonderful video brother. I really felt it and could relate to it as I am currently still in the same place and am looking to fix that situation. I used to love photography, even moving from APS-C to full frame, but after one point it just started feeling like a chore and then I started carrying my cameras less and less. I recently ordered a 100v and a X-T4 back to back. So looking forward to them both.
I had to watch this one again. I got back into shooting film in 2015 and have since. I bought my X100V in march 2021 to replace my X100T. Since finding and using some great film simulations from FujiXWeekly, and with the increase in film prices, I find myself using my V more and more with these sims and enjoying the files straight out of camera. It really is one of the best cameras I've ever used and helps us document out lives with such simplicity. I can relate with your video SO MUCH. Thank you again for sharing.
Nice video. I loved my X100F and 23mm is a great go-to lens on Fuji APSC. X100 (any revision) is a great stills body and a competent video body. Needed more flexibility, so sold the X100F to get into the XE series. With what I've owned since the X100, the XE3 and XE4 with the 23mm f/2 reminds me so much of the X100 series. I do sometimes miss the fixed lens wonder.
I am leaving for Disney World on Tuesday. I already knew that I was going to take my X100F for some photos. I was debating on taking the WCL, and as much as I like the 28mm equivalent, it just makes the camera bulkier and I want my setup to be as small and light as possible.
Great Vid and great pics! Look in to your settings and see if you clarity is on. That can cause the storing time to be long like you mentioned. I turned mine off and it stores recipes instantly.
i just stumbled upon your video and i can totally relate. i have been a fashion photograher till a few years ago, i used to shoot for the biggest fashon houses and magazines in india and even came in tv shows as a guest phtotgraher. but i just fell out of love with it one day and havent used my camera since then.its really hard to explain the reason, it felt like a task and not something that i derived joy from, i was actully looking to buy this camera for the same reason, after this video i am closer to the decision
Awesome stuff. I have the hoods on both my X100vs. Amazon is full of them. It utilizes an adapter ring that the filter screws into then the hood screws over them. Absolutely seamless.
Such a beautiful and moving video, and I just subscribed. I actually sold my X100F specifically to replace it with the X100V, but unfortunately I waited too long, and now I can't find an X100V or even buy back another used X100F! Dam TikTok!!!
great video! This inspired me to get out and shoot more photography. Branching beyond video is good and fun. Something sweet about a good still image, especially of family. Also, that focal length is 🔥so close to natural vision. Would love to see you shoot w/ a vintage lens!
I know this may not make sense, but how do you insert the white borders in your photos in the videos, I've been wanting to do video-photgraphy-esque videos but I'm not able to search up what I'm looking for if that makes sense, and the shutter camera sound as well on where i can find that audio? Thanks in advance!
Just make a square shape in premiere a little larger than you’re photo and center it underneath. Shutter sound is from Artlist, they have great sound fx
it also stops if you shoot in continuous burst drive mode instead of single shot. (if you set to drive mode it automatically turns clarity setting to 0)
Nice video man. Would you mind sharing the sim settings you're using on most of these shots? One in particular I enjoyed was the first castle shot down Mainstreet. Has some really pleasing green's and soft highlights in it. Would love to use it over here in Disneyland. Appreciate you man. 🙏
Your reasons for buying the x100v are the exact same as to why i bought the x-pro 2. I wanted the x100v, but its so hard to find at its regular price. I almost picked up the x-e4 but went with the older x-pr0-2 because of the weather sealing. I might pick up the x100v and trade in the x-pro 2 once the v gets back in stock at regular price. Do you think it would be worth it?
Man it’s hard for me to say since this is the first Fuji cam I’ve used. It’s worth it to me, but if I hadn’t been able to get my hands on one, I probably would’ve gone with another Fuji option.
I think this camera is amazing, but IMO it really serves well as a second camera or “daily shooter” for people that already have another camera. If I could afford (and find one) it I would buy one too, but being that I can only have one body I prefer having an interchangeable lens. On trips like this I just bring a small prime so I can just focus on having a good time. But also it’s nice being able to throw on a zoom when I go on a hike to take landscape shots, or a ultra wide when I wanna do Astro, etc. Beginners might feel super restricted by only having this one focal length, and it can be intimidating to some how close you have to get to your subject with a 23mm. Most people start at 50 or so and as they get more comfortable move to wider focal lengths for street photography. Nonetheless, awesome video, think you found the perfect use case for this camera!
Thank you! Totally agree with the point your making, and I’m mostly using it for daily shooting. I started with a dslr with interchangeable lenses, still use them for commercial work all the time, and I would still start there as a beginner. In some situations though, this cam is good enough for gigs. Already have it used on a couple paid shoots.
I'm so mad at myself... we just got back from Disney. I intended on shooting so much but just got a lazy while having so much fun and while my feet were killing me. Maybe next time I will.
Great video and photos man, but, and it’s probably just me, but I had to zoom you to x1.4 on my phone and recenter you on the screen lol. Still subbed though, video/audio is great, opinions are great, looking forward to seeing more from ya dude.
Given the scalper's prices to get a Fuji X100V, since it is on backorder, I encourage you to get one of the earlier models. I personally own a X100S, which I purchased new in 2014. The major difference between the X100V and the X100S, is the autofocus. The rest is insignificant. The autofocus on a 100S will require you to spend a little bit more time since you will not have the eye detection you get with the 100V.
@@craigpatchett3508 I value the fact the X100 has no interchangeable lenses. I have noticed that certain venues prohibits cameras that can mount multiple lenses. This happened to me at events such as the Dallas International Guitar Festival. I used to go there with my Canon 5D and a couple of lenses to capture details of guitars, or stage performers. As an amateur photographer. The last time I went, I had to leave my 5D and lenses in my car, as I was only allowed to have the X100S with me. Other cameras were deemed as "professional equipment" and required a "Photographer's" pass... I don't know if this will expand to the other events as well.
Hey Will, make sure your clarity is set to 0 and you wont see the storing lag after taking a shot. x100v is a fun camera.
Exactly this. The Clarity setting is a PITA to me. I turn it off all simulations. I want my V to be fast and silent.
Yeah, the storage lag is only if you up the Clarity setting. Otherwise, there is no lag on any of the pre-loaded film sims, nor any ones you change without adjusting Clarity. You can still shoot like a monkey on meth.
Will they even patch the clarity? Kinda seems like a bug to me

It seems that setting Clarity to any value other than zero causes the storage delay. If you leave Clarity out of your film sim recipes then no delay.
Good to know, thanks
I recently discovered this with my X-S10. I couldn't figure out why some recipes did it and some didn't.
