I live near Ashwaubenon, and I'm very surprised that he got most of these right. I think that Wisconsin might have some of the hardest city names to pronounce in the country.
jake singer Sorry to disappoint you my friend but wisconsin was settled by the natives...Sauk. .Ojibwa...Blackhawk but it was STOLEN by the german republi-cons. 👊
Well... to be honest with you, I am part German, the sixth generation in fact. My grandma and grandpa both come from a family who came to Wisconsin and settled there in the late 1800s, and now six generations down, I can somewhat understand why you are getting these answers very well.... Edit: perhaps the reason why he is good at naming these towns is because of some of the German settlers. My great great great great great grandfather helped make shawano
Because Kesha is spelled the way the end of Waukesha is. I’m from Milwaukee so I know how to pronounce it but I can see why someone could mispronounce it.
@Ptolemy 1 It's a nice piece of conjecture, but it doesn't cut the mustard. None of the vowels or intonations of these Wisconsin place-names follow German pronuncation.
That thick accent lol but he's having a blast! ☺️😂
He did AMAZINGLY well!!!
He probably had an easy time, because most Wisconsinites are German, so it would make sense if a German could pronounce Wisconsin towns.
Except nearly all of these names derive from Indian words.
Not only are a lot of Wisconsinites German but German is a very phonetic language while English is not.
David Bullis yep I’m native/German/creole
@@ascendedweeb328 It does seem a common combo for the area… I am also Native/German!
Omg he got Oconomowoc right!

Wisconsin was settled by the Germans that's why there baseball team is called the brewers
jake singer Germany is soccer
jake singer They were named the Brewers because Milwaukee is the beer capital of the US

He is so cute (Er ist so süß) :-)
Should've given him my home town of Berlin to trip him up a bit
Dang, I should have! Especially since when I went to Germany he gave me a tour of Berlin!
So much better most Americans. Seriously impressive.
good choice of city names
I did the same thing with my German grandpa and he did the same thing. Strange.
Interesting....

I'm from Waukesha and I never get how people mix it up. Why would it be wau-key-sha, instead of wau-keh-shaw.
Mark Orlowski true
Honestly I'm a Wisconsinite, and I still accidentally say Wah-KEY-sha quite a bit, and this is coming from someone in Shawano (shah-noh).
Because Kesha is spelled the way the end of Waukesha is. I’m from Milwaukee so I know how to pronounce it but I can see why someone could mispronounce it.
Omg I’m in Waukesha too lol
I think our tendency to have longer words than you guys kinda helps with the Native names.
I highly doubt there is anyone in Wisconsin who isn’t a little bit German
das ist gut
Just shows you how smart the Germans really are!
We actually are more German than anything, however native is probably 2nd
I live in shawuby (Ashwaubenon)
Lake Nebagamon : P
Now she should give him some greek, if you know what I mean.
Lol I'm from kaukauna
Yeah...BUT....All these names are American Indian words. WHY would a German or even a non-native American know them.
