I think benching zombs was the point where sentinels just went downhill. Zombs was region's one of the best controller mains and SicK was undeniably the best flex player NA for the longest time. When they benched zombs, sick was left to fill in smokes which had less impact assuming his talent. If sentinels decided to hire a coach in time without benching players maybe they wouldn't be dominating like they used to be but they would definitely finish top 3 on NA consistently.
The problem with zombs was his firepower. He very often would be buying spectres and dropping his phantoms to teammates and would not convert an important kill Also management burned a lot of bridges with zombs and shahzam and dapr and to some extent sick and sinatraa too. Their poor management showed itself in 2023 with the constant substitutions
@@yuvvrajkpersonI mean zombs and sick are technically still part of the org, SicK is just inactive and Zombs is a content creator, ShahZam and dapr are pretty much the only bridge they burned but in daprs case it was pretty much just a last second change in plans that he didn’t really like.
ehhh, I kind of disagree. Either way someone shoulda noticed this and corrected it, preferably as you said a coach would've fixed it.
No one seems to realize that in order to make a good team you have to be able to connect with your teammates look at fnc. If you watch their game they’re so good at communication and everyone seems to thrive together. They change rosters faster than anyone can even get to know each other and adapt. When they benched all of their original players they weren’t even losing games by that much. I’m sure if they actually had the time to practice they could’ve actually gotten better. It’s sad honestly.
It was only a matter of time until teams caught up with them, but that first sentinels run will be a level of dominance that no team will ever come close to
They were basically Valorant’s version of CSGO’s NIP back in 2013. They found the best strategies early on and took advantage of it, but fell off because everyone else caught up and even surpassed them.
Not making excuses, but people conveniently forget about Sentinels having to play with subs during crucial matches and they had issues being able to practice. Like yeah they still lose and im not diminishing the other teams' wins, but it just sucked. It felt like we didn't get to actually see the roster play to their full potential at times. Tenz looks awful unless hes playing TDM, i just think he needs to step back because hes so used to being called "The best player" and now not even making masters. This is very similar to what happened to OpTic in cod, they were very dominant for a short window and then just seemed to overheat and focused way too much on content rather than actually winning, spent way too much money on salaries and had to sell out multiple times.
The original team failed due to 1. unluck because their players were gone so often, but also due to shitty management. I mean the team fell off without a coach, what a surprise. They showed sparks of life and could definitely have been better. Maybe not best in the world, but way better. And for 2023... Tbh I'm kind of impressed how many roster changes they managed to make with just 6 players. It's almost impressive
1st breaking point is no coach for their team even though many people told them to do that. It was obvious when we saw how they lost and hard to get the round back up. Strategic wise not enough could say very lacking. 2nd are benching Zombs and Dapr. zomb controlling skill was the best in the world during that time but lacked firepower so that brings up analytics and coaching from the first point. Dapr is a clutch king everyone knows this, the amount of time he did it proves that already. Both of them can deliver when it matters. 3rd Medical and Family Emergency can't blame anyone for this. The roster that could have worked during that time was Tenz duelist, Sinatraa initiator, Zombs controller, Sick flex, and Dapr sentinels. But this roster lacks IGL (Do we need IGL?? when they could have pseudo-igl. Prx as an example), However, they really do need igl tho so the team can be more structured. 4th is based on my opinion As you can see team roster I put in the 3rd point no Shazam Why?? he should have been Head Coach instead of a player. I was such a sentinels fan girl they made me enjoy watching pro play not because of them stomping but just the way they played the game was so satisfying. It was so hype when you got to see a sentinels game cuz someone always did something bonkers impressive. Even back when it was Sinatra instead of tenz. Ever since the benched zombie they lost their personality and honestly skill as a team. Individually I think they’re still good players. This also might be a controversial take but I think a huge problem in esports and sports in general is how replaceable orgs see their players as. Especially in valorant when you change a player you’re changing a play style entirely. You are charging a core foundation of the team which EVERY player now needs to get used too. Even if zombs was not the best aim wise on the team he was an incredibly good controller. His play style complimented the team. Ever since they haven’t been able to recreate zombs when he was at his prime and I truly think who your controller is changes the entire game and zombs is the unspoken hero of the early days.
