I'm surprised you didn't grab the gold tracer from Ciaran; it has a unique left handed moveset and inflicts bleed. I thought it would've been the perfect weapon to grab for this kind of run. Nice video tho. I will be subscribing after watching this.
Technically, the tree in the BoC fight is actually labelled "KingIzalith" (or some variation of it) in the game files, so basically, the witch became the Bed, and her husband was mutated into a giant tree to guard her.
Another way to farm large shards before going to Sen’s if you feel like it is the slimes in the Depths. There are like 6 of them in the hallway right by the bonfire. It takes a while (I don’t actually know if the difference between the farms is significant) but it’s way easier to leave than walking out of Blighttown so there’s that.
You should try Dark Souls 2, every weapons gets a proper left hand moveset, the only thing young can't do is reposte with left hand, but every other thing works normally. There's also a DLC weapons that gets a whole new moveset when used in the left hand
He has the same resistances as the OG asylum demon. Stray demon too. He's just got the extra magic attacks activated and some bonus health. Otherwise, exact same boss, hence why the Firesage has little fire Def.
As a fellow left handed person, I would like to point out that of all the souls trilogy, DS2 has the best lefty representation. Dual wielding is genuinely viable, and many weapons even get unique movesets in the left hand.
@@endorneyodera4366 My understanding is that Artorias' arm broke because he had to defend with this sword, as he already used his shield to create a ward to protect Sif. Which, if it's his left arm that broke, the likely conclusion is that the sword was in that hand at the time. If my understanding of the order of events is correct, anyway.
As a fellow lefty, we need more left-handed representation in video games. I always thought it was so cool that Link from The Legend of Zelda was left-handed, but the Wii port of Twilight Princess ruined that
I wish they allowed you to choose dominant hand. Im right handed, but I shoot left handed cause Im very left eye dominant. The one guy looks like a Bloodborne enemy.
I’ve been wondering for a while if you could play DS left-handed. I wouldn’t have been quite so strict myself (I’d have allowed myself firebombs, for example; my right-handed son always throws a ball left-handed, so it’s not out of the question), but it’s certainly a challenge run I’d like to try sometime.
I know, like, cognitively that they didn't make everything also have left handed animation because they'd have to do literally every weapon twice But it would be cool to see it in a future project Edit: also oh, yeah having to make a system that auto detects your play so you can parry with the right if you put a shield in it and not do that same thing if you're holding say, just a shield so you can still attack with shields etc Damn, nevermind that shit is complicated af
Shame you didn’t use Artorias sword at any point, since I am fairly certain he is canonically left handed. He is on the cover art using his left and only uses his right in the fight since his good arm is busted
Oh my god! I watched the whole video, thought it was great, when i minimized and saw the sub count i was SHOCKED Keep up the good work! Gonna check out this “over encumbered” run mentioned in the video :)))
It's always strange to me hearing people talk about handedness because I'm left or right handed or ambidextrous for different things. I hold a bow IRL left handed, though I can make myself hold it right handed but it's not what feels natural in my hands. Meanwhile I write exclusively right handed.
So, TL;DR: it's because of specific genetic disorders and congenital birth defects that more often happen to coincide with left-handedness that the average life expectancy of left handed people is lower, barring those conditions you're as likely to make it to 76 as the average person. Left-handedness in a vacuum doesn't itself make you more likely to die younger than average.
I'm confused about why you were so strict about using firebombs, but had no problem using Riposte with the right hand to kill humanoids and even Gwyn. Doesn't really make any sense.
I was so excited to play Dark Souls left-handed with the full weapon movesets and then I realized I couldn't perform critical attacks and after Googling, found out that you do 10% less damage?? Why?? Why get me excited to play left-handed and then just make it worthless??
I've done this before. Very interesting run to try out. Just don't be like me and try a strength build. You can't two hand your weapon so you won't get the 1.5 strength bonus. So there isn't much reason to do a strength build. Cheers, Colin.
Someone did a challenge close to my idea - all left handed - attack and heal. So no estus, humanity, soul consumption, etc. After your video my idea sounds so terrible and painful.
Weird how I always do Left-Handed runs after meeting Gwynevere for the first time.

Demon firesage isn't weak to fire, it's just not all that defensive against anything really. In fact, IIRC fire is it's highest defense.
He also doesn't deal fire damage at all.

Which mask did you get after pinwheel…. WHICH MASK DID YOU GET AFTER PINWHEEL?!
whenever i play ds1, i always fight the stray demon super early by just getting the morning star asap and going back to the asylum asap.
You made me look at that study and fortunately it’s bogus, we die the same as right handed people

Freaking awesome run bro!
As a leftie, I always thought my life is somewhat of a challenge run.
Wanderer best starting class
Challenge failed, you drink estus with your right hand huhuhuhuhu
You should do it in Ds2, the only Souls game where you can be truly left handed.
I personally prefer Thief's starting armor set over the Wanderer's in terms of looks.
lmao can't help but notice you using the right weapon to kill gwyn, great video though!
