….agreed, however I suppose because most people are boring and uninteresting with tinier and tinier brains and social media is making it even worse, I barely count this YT as social media except for the censoring as rarely do I comment…. :)
How far apart are the carbon rods? Like if you have it running, then turn off the power are they touching each other or is there a .5 mm gap or what? Asking only because it’s hard to maintain an arc by hand at 24V.
How bad would the shock be from one of these, build a GFCI type deal into it? LOL... Would prob trip constantly though like those pesky AFCi's How long do they last before needing replacements? Did they ever a long timer ago as surely not too safe but have smaller one made for the home itself like a reg lamp using this tech to run on 110/120 in our west or even 210/220 in other areas or even also the west?...
This is awesome! I'm amazed this video hasn't gone viral. This light must look even more amazing in person!

Great build amazing lamp
Fantastic carbon arc lamp
That's amazing. Excellent work, and brilliant thinking with using the motor as an automatic arc control.
I've always wondered about carbon arc lights. Pretty cool!

English maybe?
Awesome build! but you have to be very cautious as carbon arc lamps give off an unhealthy dose of U.V light, which can make you go blind
glass blocks it. If you want UV you need to use fused quartz glass.
@@GigsTaggart Thanks for telling me! sadly, i've learned about these more since then and i know now.
