I unfortunately made a mistake in this video and credited the wrong mod author. The author for Better Settlers is actually *Thom293*. Again, I highly highly recommend this mod for nearly any mod list. Here is the link to it again: www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4772/ If you Kouties can, also please make sure to endorse the mod if you're using it!
This is a seriously underrated channel, I love how you spilt the video into clear sections to make it easier to see what people are looking for. This is super insightful and displays actually good mods. You definitely deserve more subscribers.
Well tbh mode are heavily compatible with PC. If you want to enjoy a game with mods. Get a pc. Bc xbox and ps4 are not very powerful when it comes to modding
@@PROEVOLUTION1 don't say that. I love crashing and breaking my game on my Xbox one X. I'll be in a battle with raiders and then an indescribable sound occurs and then i get sent to dashboard. See? I can hide my pain 😂😂
I really wanna get back into fallout 4 i enjoy building settlements so much.. but it was such a chore keeping mods up to date.. making sure its all compatible .. mods not working properly and fixing shit. Spent more time in the mod manager than in the game. And vanilla is just lame
lllIIIlllIIlIlIIlIlI honestly that's why I like the console mods so much if a mod needs an update it just shows up at the top of the mod list and you can do it that easily
lllIIIlllIIlIlIIlIlI I mean it's not that hard to keep mods updated, there's a button on the toolbar where it updates all the mods u installed and then u can just go on with your day.
Anthony Tran yeah well updating or installing new mods without reading the change logs or comments can end up causing problems. i never install a new mod before reading the comment/bug reports and I never update a mod before checking comments to see if any bugs have been reported with the update.
Well, assuming that last time you played was 2016 or earlier, know that all of the DLCs are out now, and a lot of mods are pretty much finished. I just got back and at least 3/4 of the mods I use hasn't received any updates in few months, but already updated to post nukaworld. It's definitely way less of a chore compared to playing the game when the dlcs were released monthly and ruin half of the mods.
Basically all of the mods I use are still being cared for and being improved upon. Many times when a mod author goes in and makes an update things can unintentionally get broken. I play fallout weekly and new mods are still being created all the time.
I know this is 7 years old, thank you for this video! Coming back to fallout and couldn’t remember half the names of the mods I used to use and they’re ALL in this video.
That was an awesome video! Clear and comprehensive even if one starts getting into the modding game a bit later than the rest of you all XD. Kudos for a job superbly done!
One Mod I would add to this list is Sim Settlements. You can make settlers builders and they can build scrap factories, farms, shops, houses, and so on. It is a must have for someone like me who wants to have an RP Element because you can set taxes, have bigger towns, and really makes settlements more Interesting.
These will come In handy for my sanctuary capital city.....and of course all of my enclave outposts I've decided I wanted to station in the Commonwealth, hope the Brotherhood don't mind, because if they do, we might need broken Steel part 2 except this time the brotherhood of steel is what's broken.
I only clicked this video to see if you were gonna talk about Sim Settlements, but I ended up staying and watching the whole thing. On top of that, you showed me a few mods that I have somehow missed! So thank you Koubitz, aaand subscribed.
I've found Spring Cleaning to be a great clean up mod as well, as it has optional settings in NMM to exclude objects from being scrapped, such as buildings and foundations, so you can just nuke everything with the scrapall command, and still have those things remaining to use.
GREAT video! I never got hardcore into settlement building and only added some bits and pieces here and there (OCDecorator, Dino's decorations, etc.) I know there have been a billion settlement object mods thru 2016 so I've been overwhelmed at what to look at. This will help nicely!
the flickering objects is caused by two different things, first one is occlusion planes, these are used inside of walls, hedges, etc, to cull or not draw, objects behind them, improving performance. these don't get deleted when you scrap the object they were placed inside of. the second issue is object reappearing, but are ghost objects. these are actually LOD models. they allow you to see the object from further away. sadly when you scrap stuff that wasn't intended to be scrapped originally, it leaves behind it's LOD.
3:18 "Preventing the Problem of your random goodies falling off the table...after somone's bumped into a table" Or in my case, a Vertibird crashes into my house.
After playing Fallout 4 a lot (also with mods) I wanted to enhance my Settlements a bit. I watched your Video and installed a lot of the Mods you recommended and I can't imagine to live without them anymore! Thank you for the effort you put in videos like this one! ^^
thanks for putting together this vid, the majority of mods I use with fallout 4 are settler based, as I enjoy building my own settlement's, now only thing left for someone to develop is a brig to send people to, and a hotel/inn that settlers can rent out to you.
This was a great starting place for me to look into settlement mods. It was extremely helpful for me in figuring out which ones I wanted and showing me some new cool things. Thank you for making this video!!!
Thank you for making this video! I had problems with finding which mods I want in the labyrinth(nexus) with no luck, but this video really narrows it down with excellent commentary! :)
For stackable concrete you do not need a mod. If you take the normal concrete and attack the 2 level stair block under the wooden structure/floors section, it will let you place a second row on top of the first perfectly aligned so it will not interfere with snapping structures to it.
Best use for the mod CWSS is a water fountain that gives purified water. Excellent if playing survival mode. Northland diggers is great in survival mode, add some of those food worker stations. Nice to find some deathclaw omelets.
Thank you for the video. I'm coming from PS4 and just finished building my PC. Now I want to mod like I've always dreamed. thanks again. I really appreciate the effort this took. Also, your voice is great!
Instead of Window Boards, I'd recommend the use of Place Anywhere and just use other wood wall or fence pieces and push them into the the window / hole in the wall area you are trying to patch. It still gives that repaired look, and Place Anywhere is a mod that should probably be in your load order anyway for serious settlement building.
I will make a Minuteman settlement or BoS settlement that has the keycard mod and have different homes and places for different ranks. For the Minutemen, I will dress them up based on their ranks. Amazing mod list. Thank you very much.
Dead wasteland is an amazing mod! there is so much cool items added to the game, and you can add cats to your settlments, add cool buildings, unique beds, cool guard posts! Consider getting it it is so worth it i love it
Awesome list, indeed some stuff I hadn't heard of!:D I'd like to recommend Conquest as well; allowing you to build settlements anywhere. Incredible quality video, well done.:)
Technically, Conquest would be Campfire for FO4 - as it is made by Chesko, author of Campfire, Frostfall and others. However, Fadingsignals Campsite fills the same niche quite nicely.
As informative and yes, very thorough reminder for a few mods for me, as this is, I really hope that you are still posting. A lot of modders who were at one point posting Fallout 4 videos that were actually informative and not just snarky have long since left or gone on to other things. I truly hope that you're not one of them
really surprised you didn't include All Settlements Expanded as well as the Far Harbor edition (probably Nuka World coming soon too), must have for me since it expands the build area greatly, and consequently the amount of scrapable objects as well if combined with Scrap Everything. Some areas get easily as big as Diamond City if you are into building big settlements. Just a few other recommendations I have is Build Your Own Pool, Just A Ladder, Distillery, G2M Workshop, Dog Bed, Craftable Cats, Connectable Electripoles, SSEX too though I've heard it's buggy. Tons of good other ones like for turrets and stuff too. Really just wish someone would make a combined optimized one for all of them. I'm trying that myself but progress is slow, lol.
btw, have you tested the keycard functionality? because i'm fairly certain that they will teleport and spawn in regardless of what you do, just based on how the engine works. you could literally build a jail of 4 walls and a roof around one, leave and come back and they will be outside. would be really cool if it worked though.
Dead bug carcasses got you down? Enjoy lots of Settlement attacks? Try the " Settlement Tidy Bot " Mod. It will keep it clean automatically and store the loot in a chest
Someone should make a mod that allows you to recruit settlers similar to how you can recruit soldiers in MGSV. They should also add an armoury type building where you can dump weapons and armour that settlers can equip them with so you don't have to do so much micro-management
i think a personal vertibird for settlements would be cool as a bos and minutemen player i would think it would have a holotape as schematics to build vertibirds at settlements to fly or travel like the railroad/bos vertibirds
