I don't think many people really understand how real and emotional this sing is. In my opinion this is DGD's masterpiece. You can tell Jonny is putting his whole heart until every line sung in this song. And the whole part from 3:35 to the end is just incredible. It's like the song has become something much more than just a song because of the emotion and feelings put into it, you feel as if Jonny IS the song, not just a vocalist singing it. Shit, people don't know how incredible this truly is.

The things I love about Dance Gavin Dance, and Emarosa. They have SOOOO many songs to choose from. They all fit some sort of mood, whether it's Happy, sad, lonely, depressed, or just fucking HIGH. lol

That's all a matter of opinion. I enjoy Slaves. Like anything it's a matter of personal preference. I know that people say the instrumentals are really weak but they have never bothered me.

Adam XYZ Plenty of Slaves music is fine. People just bag on the instrumentals because they are bland and not unique. It isn't like Jonny's voice sounds any worse.
The Logician His voice is great, still. But, there is more to music than someone's voice.

listening to these guys since the beginning back in middle school. 28 now and I can honestly say they were WAAAAAY ahead of their time. This EP alone is a masterpiece. And to this day have yet to have a DGD song I don't like.
People of the future take note, this EP is important for the genre.
This and the Robot With Human Hair Part 1 are still the best.

Okay. We get it guys. Jonny is great. But holy fuck. Matt Mingus (the drummer) was only 15 or 16 when this was recorded. What pure talent. And the screamer Jon Mess? The way he makes the lyrics to pt. 2 relate with this is pure art. Get off Jonny's dick and appreciate the other 5 dudes who helped make this great music. Eric Lodge on bass. Will Swan on guitar. Jonny is my favorite singer, but he is not what makes this band. Fucking A. xD
Matt is one of the best drummers ever in my opinion. The way he writes drums is unheard of.
+Shilo Murphy He has a really weird, but amazing and unique style literally like everybody else in the band, including the vocalists. This is like modern art compared to classical art. It's so strange in the writing that you can't really see similarities with other bands in the same genre. They're definitely original.

Just my opinion. I only heard of them when DBM1 came out. The EP has the best held notes from Jonny in my opinion and the craziest screams by Jon. It's tough deciding between DBM1 and DBM2, I'd say the songs are a lot more well written lyrically in DBM1, DBM2 the instruments just flow amazingly, though.. God I love this band.

jonny craig brought soul to this band which is what made me love ite in the first place. tilian put an awesome "funk core" feel to it and i love that too. they're all good in they're own way.

I think what he's trying to say is DGD doesn't utilize breakdowns constantly like a lot of Rise bands do to cover up their lack of talent.
