The musicality in the entire album is underrated, old dgd really captured the emotion through music amd every sound clashing into eachother binds so well
Ethan Heath very fucking impressive to say the least. If it interests you any theres this band called chon who has an EP from 2008, and the drummer was 15 years old at time of recording, search Temporarily Destabilized. They sound great btw
Daniel Smith THANK U! You don’t even understand the disagreements I get when I mention this fact. He has the whole package. The soul, the scream, the fact he would destroy his larynx to get the notes. Ah. Just wish he would’ve got help while in the band so we would’ve had more albums with him. I only listen to the songs he is in really. Don’t get me wrong, I listen to there new stuff but idk not the same toooo me.
All of their titles have meanings behind them. Whether its an inside joke within the band or something like that, but they're never random. They don't always make sense but they always mean something.
Jonny craigs vocals with dance gavin dance's melodies is one of those things I wish there was more of. Still Hoping Downtown battle mountain 3 will happen.
Dance Gavin Dance is my favorite band of all time. They've gotten me through so much, and their songs never fail to entertain or make me feel better, and they never will.
I always come back to this video when I'm reminded of pain I used to feel. I find comfort in Jonny's words "this hits too close to home for me and I don't need to be reminded of this pain"
This hits too close to home for me And I don't need to be reminded of this pain I dwelled so long on the possible changes Well every step forward was a fall towards your demise And you beg me Please don't go tonight And I beg you Please just come back down To earth to build this trust In which we have learned To recreate And you beg me Please don't go tonight And I beg you Please just come back down Your pride won't let you ride (And I thought your candid smile was worn down) And you said (I thought your candid smile was worn down) When will you give it up? (Lying to suite the mood) I won't fail (I thought your candid...) I'm not leaving (Worn down) You and me (Lying to suit the mood) And this will fall (I thought your candid smile) How will we get it back up? And you say this ended in arrogance Caused by my vanity Oh, where will you be? Well, maybe you just looked too hard Or maybe I don't look enough Who will decide our fate? How will you align this with love? (Biting a line) (Stricken close to the heat and I'm) How will you end this with glory? (Biting a line) (Burn in the wheat fields) And oh, don't let this go (Burn in the wheat fields) And oh, don't let this go (Burn in the wheat fields) Oh and don't let this go (Burn in the wheat fields) Just let this down
Will never stop listening to this album, 10 years ago I heard this song at the point in my life where I really needed to hear it I will forever love this
if the lyrics weren't in the description I wouldn't be able to understand a word he's saying 😂 I've known this song for 3 years and I'm just now understanding the lyrics .-.
The demo version of this song was much more passionate but it stuck with me so hard. No other song has ever done that, and that was almost 7 years ago.
One of my favs of all time. As much as I'm indifferent to tilian I wouldn't mind hearing this on a tree city session, mostly for a remastered sound and john mess cover.
everyone talking about women ima keep it real this song was the shit when I was blind to any form of life at all constantly sedated....I will go as far to say it's just as amazing now, this is smoke a blunt in the car stereo on blast music.
@DanceGDance Whenever i show my friends this theyre always like "I like music, not getting screamed at. Plus its really annoying and loud." So i explain to them that it's pretty and meaningful screaming and then i turn up the volume
My favorite dgd song, before all their albums. The songs on royal ocean had such a deeper, darker sound. Maybe the album after acceptance speech will, too.
This hits too close to home for me And I don't need to be reminded of this pain In dwelled so long on the possible changes Every step forward was a fall towards your demise
ya kno, its because of DGD that i have actually cared enough to research a genre of music to find wat it is. they are the epitome of what i like in music, being able to masterfully and elegantly blend soft vocals with high screams. hard and soft, rough and smooth, melodic and crazy. all in a blinding blend of delicious ear sex ccream lol
@Jsgh4L i used to think i sang better than jonny but then i took an arrow to the jugular... so i decided the hair cut and red hair die simply weren't needed after that.
@THEREPTILE666 dude just because people listen to other styles of music doesn't mean that they aren't true fans of dgd. I listen to tdwp and bands like that but dgd is still my favorite band
This whole ep is massively underrated. The newer generation of fans will never even know about this gem of an ep
This is great stuff. My favorite EP is still Saosin's 'Translating The Name' though. I want Anthony Green to sing cleans for DGD.
Facts
@@C.M.M.23 i honestly think Anthony Green is gonna be their next vocalist
@@cutthroatkenny6660 I don't really see tillian leaving anytime soon
@@hinglemcringleberry5448aw ): the latest album sucked. bring Anthony green or donovan melero into the mix
The musicality in the entire album is underrated, old dgd really captured the emotion through music amd every sound clashing into eachother binds so well
Matt was around 15 years old when he was rockin’ out that drum set for this album tss
It sounds so raw and almost imperfect which sounds great imo
One of those songs that just transports you to a moment that you will never forget
R&B with screaming yes just yes
why is nobody talking about Matt Mingus' drumming. especially considering that he was only 15 at the time.
+Ethan Heath i just did the math, he turned sixteen around the time of release, recorded at 16
That's still impressive!
Ethan Heath very fucking impressive to say the least. If it interests you any theres this band called chon who has an EP from 2008, and the drummer was 15 years old at time of recording, search Temporarily Destabilized. They sound great btw
Nathan Camarena is a beast.
Ethan Heath i feel like everybody listens to dgd and chon xD
Jonny Craig will always be my favorite vocalist for this band.
Daniel Smith THANK U! You don’t even understand the disagreements I get when I mention this fact. He has the whole package. Idk. Tillian fits better. Craig was better with Emarosa. But Craig was goated and is one of the best. Love this shit still.
Got an imac for sale. Jk tho, I named my son who's 7 months after this band.
Lol how? He’s so bad
@@jbole597 Actual clown. Both are insanely talented.
This song has too many feels reminds me of my ex old dgd is like the drake of post hardcore
haha true as hell
i guesss i still miss youbut taking is..
Kamel Purnell great observation lol seriously spot on.
for functioning people
Sigh I just wish I was listening to this during hs
this hits too close to home for me...
i dont need to be reminded of these things..
how could you possibly dislike this?
The screaming sucked
Jaren Vince they dislike because they're tillian fans bet you anything......or they found out what the lyrics are REALLY about
@@brieb3108 I mean usually jonny craig's lyrics meant absolutely nothing in particular
year 2021 and this song still hits different
By far the most powerful song that moved me father than any other by DGD.
am i the only one that cry's sometimes when they listen to DGD? maybe its just me?
Don’t worry I cry too.
this song has a special place in my heart
All of their titles have meanings behind them. Whether its an inside joke within the band or something like that, but they're never random. They don't always make sense but they always mean something.
I absolutely adore the guitar at 3:30
TheRubbaRazza thank you! The guitar us so kuller
Str8 fire
I hate how much this resonates with my soul at the moment but I love to feel that ache because in the same cut lies freedom from the pain.
This song is beautiful.
No words to describe this song other than beautiful.
I don't need to be reminded of this pain...
just pure beauty throughout each song
Jonny craigs vocals with dance gavin dance's melodies is one of those things I wish there was more of.
Still Hoping Downtown battle mountain 3 will happen.

Literally this EP and DTBM1 is straight perfection
Jonny has the most beautiful voice i've ever heard
The intro to this song is so beautiful.
This hits too close to home for me
And I don't need to be reminded of this pain
I dwelled so long on the possible changes
Well every step forward was a fall towards your demise
And you beg me
Please don't go tonight
And I beg you
Please just come back down
To earth to build this trust
In which we have learned
To recreate
And you beg me
Please don't go tonight
And I beg you
Please just come back down
Your pride won't let you ride
(And I thought your candid smile was worn down)
And you said
(I thought your candid smile was worn down)
When will you give it up?
(Lying to suite the mood)
I won't fail
(I thought your candid...)
I'm not leaving
(Worn down)
You and me
(Lying to suit the mood)
And this will fall
(I thought your candid smile)
How will we get it back up?
And you say this ended in arrogance
Caused by my vanity
Oh, where will you be?
Well, maybe you just looked too hard
Or maybe I don't look enough
Who will decide our fate?
How will you align this with love?
(Biting a line)
(Stricken close to the heat and I'm)
How will you end this with glory?
(Biting a line)
(Burn in the wheat fields)
And oh, don't let this go
(Burn in the wheat fields)
And oh, don't let this go
(Burn in the wheat fields)
Oh and don't let this go
(Burn in the wheat fields)
Just let this down

The demo of this track, was the first song by DGD I heard... Instantly got hooked, then this album came out... Most played album I once owned.
"well maybe you just look too hard maybe I dont look enough"
That fucking line kills. Love that part.
everytime
If jonny sounds girly idk what the fuck tillian sounds like
Like a pussy. lol
ABSOLUTELY GOATED! Like I admire talented and difficult music composition
Such an underrated DGD song
Ive known this song since 2009. But I always seemed to skip this one. Last night I actually listened to it. Now i love it.
