@@jayjones4175 I would love to explain this verse to you. 1 Kings 22:22 NIV says “‘By what means?’ the Lord asked. “ ‘I will go out and be a deceiving spirit in the mouths of all his prophets,’ he said. “ ‘You will succeed in enticing him,’ said the Lord. ‘Go and do it.’” The King of Israel at this time, Ahab, wanted to go to war with Ramoth Gilead. He and King of Judah, Jehoshaphat, were working together and before they went to war they wanted to see what God had to say. They called about 400 prophets and they all said that the “Lord will give you victory”. But there was one true prophet, King Jehoshaphat knew about, which was Micaiah. Micaiah was called and the Lord prophesied through him and give him a vision. “Then Micaiah answered, “I saw all Israel scattered on the hills like sheep without a shepherd, and the Lord said, ‘These people have no master. Let each one go home in peace.’ ” - 1 Kings 22:17 NIV. “Micaiah continued, “Therefore hear the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting on his throne with all the multitudes of heaven standing around him on his right and on his left. And the Lord said, ‘Who will entice Ahab into attacking Ramoth Gilead and going to his death there?’ “One suggested this, and another that. Finally, a spirit came forward, stood before the Lord and said, ‘I will entice him.’” - 1 Kings 22:19-21 NIV. The Lord had asked his angels who can give punishment to the King of Israel, Ahab and an angel step up and 1 King 22:22 is what the angel suggested and it did happen through the 400 prophets who lied to the Kings. And the Kings didn’t listen to Micaiah and still went to war and King, Abah died just has God said he would.
