There appears to be pro's and con's to your square crucible. You intentionally made the furnace so that the flame would swirl, but then the square crucible prevents the swirling. However your system of pulling out the crucible looks good and the crucible has it's own pouring spout! Overall it works so kudos to you !

What did you useful the cement? The universal super stuff. I could see no manufacturer name. Details, details, details. This actually worked, so it would be great to have the ability to replicate it. Without the details, comparable materials cannot be found. Thanks!
why is it the insulate wall collapse in some areas? could i fill in this area when you burned test at low temperature? can i use the powder pyrite in place the bead shape mixed in with the high-temperature cement? how high the temperature this furnace reached? it was informative to see this.
Actually, the squareness adds turbulence and slows the flames slightly, resulting in faster heat transfer to the crucible. And the surface area of a square crucible is greater than a cylinder, again adding more surface exposed to the heat. Crucible placement and orientation to the flame front may be a possible place for experimenting. Try not to be so negative, it seems to work very well, the pour spout is less constructive than a standard crucible, it poured quickly, and easily! All thumbs up!

i always thought that molten metal interacting with the tiniest bit of moisture from the ground would make it pop. was it so little metal that it cooled quickly?
@@CosmasBauer ah cool. just something I read. Higher metal to water makes boom, like if it splashed onto concrete a day after a rain. I know about splash casting being safe because it can cool quickly though.
the burner itself often isn't the biggest factor to how hot the foundry gets, its actually the insulation. The better insulated the more heat goes from the burner to the crucible. Propane can actually melt steel, but you've got to have the right conditions. A forced air burner will get hotter and burn more reliably than a atmospheric burner like weed burners are.

Nachdem es sich dann Popcornartig aufgebläht hat ist es der Dämmstoff den ich verarbeitet habe. Stell dir mal vor der Dämmstoff würde sich bei einem Brand auf einmal auf das 20-fache ausdehnen, das wäre ein Schlamassel ^^

The square crucible helps greatly to pour without spillage. Standard crucibles are hard to pour with.

What type of metal was the container of the melted metal made of so the container didn't melt only the content?

You should use a cylindrical crucible, the squareness prevents the fire from spinning around the crucible.

So for bigger a 55 gallon metal drum, and 30 gallon plastic drum insert, concept seems the same, might need 2 burners tho. Thoughts sir?

Crucible is super cheap if you have a welder or friend with one. That's the part that holds the molten metal itself.

@Adam it appears to be a box tube with a welded in bottom, an old 50 lb welding rod can would work for a short term.

It's a propane weed burner. You can pick them up at most hardware stores.

its a weed burner, each hardware store seems to have its own model of weed burner, but they are all pretty much the same.
I've made one like kor (rip) and I've used a weed burner but the tin can doesn't get hot enough before my gas freezes up? What have I done wrong??

A steel crucible would not hold up well melting copper. Both higher temperatures, and steel dissolving in the copper.

why the bucket doesn't melt ?
It is insulated by the concrete mixture so It does not get hot. Also this furnace is not hot enough to melt steel.
