They are still the BEST bang-for-buck transformation for the rear tail lights. I still get people turning heads asking about them! (OH BUT THOSE NEW HEADLIGHTS THOUGH!! YUMMM)
Felt a little iffy about these when I saw them installed on a blue 86 on a japanese channel, but seeing them installed on a red 86 really makes these look a lot better. Looking forward to the rest of the SEMA build, looking real good so far 👍
I wish these didn't look like Mustang tails, I really loved the previous gen Valentis. Currently I have the ones that get rebranded a lot (Noble, etc) and am content with them. I'm trying to figure out what happened to 78Works' tails, they were supposed to release in July.
OEM tail light is better... From the built quality to the over shape and line that flow with the car's body line. Maybe the aftermarket aren't getting it the best try yet. I feel like the... So far, almost all aftermarket taillight for the ZN8 is missing something. Missing something that makes me feel, "wow, this is better than the OEM one. I want this!"
glad you like these and found a set you're maybe happy with. that said, I'm not a fan. reasons? top of the molded C section doesn't match the dimensions of the black trunk trim piece, nor does the housing being red color wise, and lastly the parking light shape also does not match up with the center trim piece because it angles down as it nears the center. I think the previous set you had, in whatever color best matches a particular car (probably the red vs clear in your case), are the best set I've seen other than OE. regardless, keep up the good work Kevin!
I would like the boomerang for just the DRL and the boomerang and bars for when the headlights are on. I don't trust people driving at night so I want max visibility for others.

Honestly I think each type of tailights works best for different colors of the gr86. I genuinely think you made the best choice and that Valenti works best for the red. I think the clear hi-rev looks better with black / white. I'm still trying to figure out what will work for my truneo blue. Anyhow amazing vid, and amazing choice of tail lights! Looks great man!

There's some stuff out on 1st gen cars as well as other brand 4th brake lights, and a lot of confusing info (some of which requiring soldering).... so I was hoping you might have something coming up that would help me navigate the wiring for the valenti 4th brake light, hopefully even without opening up the back and messing with the electronics inside...?

I personally still like the Noble Taillights. I am a huge sucker for sequential turn signals and the first gen Valenti taillights is what made me fell in love with the FRS/BRZ/86 platform. However, the 2nd generation aftermarket taillights have been a little difficult and I appreciate the amount of effort and work put into these new taillights, but none of them really WOW me like the first generation Valenti. HRS Elite is probably my second pick because it has the start up animation and feels retro. The sequential feels okay and is in an okay spot but does not have the sharp/"arrow" turn signals, only flat line ones. OLM tail lights was so close to being perfect. It had everything I wanted. The tail light design of the 1st gen, the sharp design, the sharp/"arrow" turn signals, but the brake is so weird. It takes up too much space and feels off. The Valenti is okay. The vertical bars reminds me of Mustangs taillights and not really feeling the turn signals being at the bottom as well as the "flat line sequential lights". Nobel is probably my favorite still but hoping to see more tail lights designs!
See I have the Pavement color 86, and I love the stock lights, which is why I haven’t switched to aftermarket…… but these are super clean, might have to make the switch!

are you installing the APR carbon bezels on the front? i have them on mine and its probably one of the best mods i've done, altough they are quite expensive, especially having them shipped to italy lmaoo keep up the good work!
I am running Valenti tails for my va sti. I love it not only because it is good looking but also it is super rare. Plus I do not like any subispeed copy clone part.

These are currently rhe only aftermarket headlights available. As for tail lights you have a few different choices. HRS Elite Series Tail Lights are a good option.
valenti has a usa website you can order from. the only reason to order from japan would be to get the japan only version light which he didnt get. so japan has three versions of this light and the USA market only has 2. if you order the lights from japan i believe the wiring is a bit different on the main harness, and you have to flip the green and yellow wires.
@KevinVo oh OK. yeah i ordered and installed the japan only version at the end of Sept and ran into the wiring problem had me scratching my head for awhile. had thought about doing a video but have been busy. Glad you came out with one.

I had the gr86 since march but I only added at the moment mods in the exterior, but I would like performance mods, what kind of intec to you recommend and if I can add a turbo, and what kind of exhaust I can get for this one I don’t would like something very noisy just something sound really cool
These are not for me. The only one that has sort of intrigued me are the SARD ones. If someone can do those but make it look more OEM...I will absolutely consider those. For now I still like stock.
I prefer the HRS taillights and stock more but I do like these. Honestly thought these would look terrible but seeing them on the car changed my mind!

Because it's a darker red I like it. I would be going a smoked look when I get my car due to a different cour choice for the car.

These cars don't have reverse lights in the tail lights. It has a separate assembly in the bottom of the bumper.
