Your videos are Very enjoyable to watch. Like a true sportsman, you are concerned about the wellbeing of the game as well as the chase. I would love to ride with you any day.
Your the best mr.vaughn, it's always a pleasure to see what's going on in the real world thank you sir for having amazing videos, I sure enjoy ,appreciate an thankful for what you do for the love of hunting, dogs an mules ur much appreciated Brett for all you do and the time spent good job well done God bless you anur family in all ya do
Our dogs love watching, and when your dogs lite up they lift there heads to see what's going on. Good dogs! We have coyotes go through here every morning and night coming out of Canada. North border one quarter mile away. Brian Washington State
I had a couple of mixed breeds that i USED TO LOVE TO HUNT OVER. One was Catahoula and Shepherd dog and the other was flatcoated retriever and Border collie. We hunted everything together, and they were really bird specialists. I did have some great Jackrabbit hunts with them in the sagelands of Central Or. They loved hunting Jackrabbits. Watching them work, and being able to read their signals was really a neat experience. The way their body language changes when they are on scent, and how their noses are down and their tails are thrashing. That was where it was at.
Oh man I wish you would've had a couple more hours of daylight.......it was hurting me you having to call them off. Great dog and film work though. Otis and myself have been having some really good hunts......I'll send you some pictures when I have a chance. Until next time take care.
January about 15 years ago I was bow hunting deer in those same hills just south of that flat top bluff. In a steep ravine with bluffs on both sides I found the skeleton of a mule deer doe which looked like it had been killed by a lion. As I continued to climbed up the ravine another 75 yards there was the skeleton of a fawn. I think a lion got them both Doesn’t look like real rough county in the videos but it’s extremely difficult to walk in that entire mountain range. The loose rocks from pebbles to 6 inches in diameter on top of solid rock with just enough soil to lubricant the slide makes for some interesting ski slopes Of course the cactus always help break the fall just before the cliff edge Great video and indeed the winter winds on sunny days can be bitter cold Thanks 🙏
Another great video brother 👍 hounds sure sounded nice on that track! U have done a great job on your packs handling! I love a hound that listens to what I say, very important part in my book!!!
Awesome video I love to watch your dogs work and see the mules also . My son hunts with mules here in Va. Mountain Music and Mules I’ve seen your comments on his channel it’s always good to see fellow hunter’s doing what they love best keepem coming .!!! Happy Hunting
Thank you George ….yep he commented up above lol …so that must be your Grandson on the mule bucking video …I could watch that video everyday ..his commentary is priceless !
Hello, I have been watching your channel for a few months now and I must say, It is awesome! I would like to know about your riding saddle, who made it, etc... Thank you
Thank you very much... James Morris made one my saddles that I use the most .. quarter horse bars and modified association.. gotta pad up right but seems to fit them fine .. it was made the way I wanted it .. little lighter leather free swinging stirrup leathers set just little further forward then a roping saddle ..
First one of your Video's I've seen ,along about Dark, I got to Thinking old Mox Mox ,was back in the Area ,and Was Wanting be sure you Don't wind up like Ben Lilly 🐕 Looks fun Sir ,If I wasn't so old n Beat up ,I'd like go too !!!
Howdy sir really enjoy watching ur content.. wondering the gear that choose for packing hauling stuff. The hounds looking great keep up the good work blessings.
I have owned a couple horses over the years and I used to love to go ride and camp, 😢 where we live now got annexed by the city so I had to sell my horse named Lilly
No they can raise the tail .. when they need too .. I've been asked that a lot .. we call it a britchen ..keeps the saddle from sliding forward going down steep hills .. Thanks!
Its all about the dogs , i also cant really care or a hunter miss the fox after i dug it out of the ground,, i just come back another day to dig him again cuz a well trained fox/badger will bring up more qualities from the dog
Thanks for watching ... we like to cut the tails to keep them from getting bloody tips from whipping them back and forth .. ie "Monkey Tail" I don't have all of them docked so we will see how these others turn out ..
I lost a pack mule one time that had been just following us .. found her a day later .. I have tied up before and went with the hounds on foot and came back and couldn't locate where I had tied up at for a while lol .. most of the time they won't leave as long as I'm not too far away .. Thanks
lol i caused us to miss her company Christmas party one year because I was out with the hounds .. I just made sure I got home this time ..of course there was no party this year but I thought I better stay home... Thanks!
I noticed that the wind is making the video horrible if you would put a bandaid over the mike puege on ur camera it will cut out 80% of the windy noise, just saying hos
Lol when running in circles not getting any were the drifting track dog will push the track make the he climb todays track dogs are way better than the old time dogs were better tree dogs
In this video I give a little explanation for those that don't know or understand ... don't forget to crush the like button and if you like to see more content Subscribe .. Thanks!
I agree with your hunting attitude. You don’t have to pull the trigger to have a great hunt.

Just a saw buck pack saddle and some panniers ... depends on what I'm doing what panniers I use .. some hard and then some soft .. Thanks!
I have owned a couple horses over the years and I used to love to go ride and camp, 😢 where we live now got annexed by the city so I had to sell my horse named Lilly
That a shame ... move? Thanks
You go thru a lot of mules to get two you liked
Really not that many … or I didn’t think so anyway .. thanks
Brett, where do you get your hats. Seems wide brim hats are harder to find than they used to be. Glad fat Lorrie is joining in the hunt.
I just buy my felt hats here at the western store in Las Cruces .. my summer I get on amazon amzn.to/481toN7
Question for you that back strap capturing the tail so the animals can’t raise their tails to relieve its self
Yep I like to watch these dogs develop and learn how to trail in this desert .. it takes some patience and you have to enjoy the process ... Thanks!
Im from Kentucky i have a 9 yr old Black an Tan an 4 month old Walker pup just wondering why the bobbed tails. Really enjoy the videoy.
Thanks for watching ... we like to cut the tails to keep them from getting bloody tips from whipping them back and forth .. ie "Monkey Tail" I don't have all of them docked so we will see how these others turn out ..
Do Sheila had them pups? I would love to have a hound from your booger dog, I love the looks and huntability off the dog
She did and they were all taken .. If I ever have anymore I will let you know .. Thank you!
Do you ever pack a little snack for the mules when your way out 2or3 day ect. !! Sorry if it's a dumb question ?
Yes I pack either oats or alfalfa pellets .. Thanks .. not a dumb question at all .. I also let them graze on whatever grass is available
How are you able to keep the dogs and mules from getting cactus thorns?
They learn to avoid them ..but still get a few from time to time ..thanks
Good moning ✋🇷🇴 Marius
👍
Ain't much around to Tree a Lion in lots of Rocks. Cheers
Yeah kinda hope to get them up on a big rock or bluff .. could be dangerous I guess .. Thanks!
Have you ever went back to get your mule and the mule was not there
I lost a pack mule one time that had been just following us .. found her a day later .. I have tied up before and went with the hounds on foot and came back and couldn't locate where I had tied up at for a while lol .. most of the time they won't leave as long as I'm not too far away .. Thanks
What do you do with lions
Depends ..
I hope I'm not asking something that's been answered 100x, but what kind of hounds are yours? Like your name btw, I'm also Bret.
Your just missing a T lol they are just crossed up hounds .. stuff that has been bred up to trail lions in the dirt .. thanks!
Do you Harvest lions ?
Yes
Those hounds had her going Brett, just one more day. I’m sure you didn’t rub it in on your wife until you open your 🎁👍🏻
