5 minute Fridays are back today by popular demand! Today, we're heading down to the Chula / Sam Yan area of Bangkok to try out Crispy Pork Alley, a shop dedicated to all this moo krob!
We tried the Pad Kaprao Moo Krob (stir fried holy basil with crispy pork) and a signature dish called muen lan which was a kind of mung bean noodle pad see ew.
Bothe were absolutely fantastic and well worth the trip. This my friends is Thai street food at its finest!

Know what I love, Gary? It's when I see all the street food vendors using and tossing in bits and splashes of the same sauces and other ingredients that I use here at home in the chilly (actually damn cold tonight and not even official winter) Northeast US. Keep 'em coming. I'm still worried about the prediction you made a few months back that all this street food action will be gone in a decade. I will definitely find a way to get back there, at least for a visit.

Sat in one of the great new cafes they have opened now gonna gotta go 10 stops down the blue line rn because of this! #munchies love the channel Gary by far the best Thai food channel there is, far more informative in every way and your amazing rapport is instant with every local you meet! I graduated from Chula so it’s look like MeunLee is Samyarn’s specialty, I can’t find it anywhere, it doesn’t exist outside chula or samyarn area.
Uncle is happy because he knows he doesn't have to go to work on Sundays if he doesn't feel like it 😉 *
Ah well, that's all part of the Thai street food experience! There were plenty of other places to try in that area, although I'd have say the reviews for Chula Pork Leg (ขาหมูจุฬา) around the corner are a little generous, IMO.
* I hope he just had other things to do, and isn't ill today. If so, sorry Uncle, get well soon! Or, maybe Google Maps is just wrong about the days they open.
