Watching this video and typing this response from my xperia xa2 ultra. Its been a great phone for me over the past 18 or so months. Getting ready to switch over next month to the Razer Phone 2 since you get top flagship specs(2018), 120hz QHD screen, dual Dolby speakers, ip67 ratings and its only $399 currently on Amazon and razers website
I'm 8 months late to the party but I'm watching this video on my brand new Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra which I just bought 2 days ago and I love it so much. I'm a fan of the boxy build and I prefer the 16:9 aspect ratio over the 18:9. I am sad that the XA2 Ultra will be the last phone that Sony will use this design for.

I'm actually going to be switching to the Razer phone 2. Its tailored to gaming but still functions as a regular flagship phone and its a 5.72" screen with dual front firing Dolby speakers and 2018 flagship specs(snapdragon 845 and 630gpu, 4000mAh battery, quick charge 4+, 1440p screen and the best part its still using the 16:9 ratio!) And its currently $399 on Amazon and razers website. Great deal for flagship spec phone and a very nice upgrade over the xperia xa2 ultra
there is a huge price difference now as of today and at $190 i will have to go with the XA1 ultra as i didnt see anything worth paying almost double for.
Recently replaced XA1 ultra by Samsung A50 and after one week I want to get back my Sony. XA1 ultra has wide display that is why I have difficulties with typing text in A50, also bigger display in Samsung isn't bigger if it comes to watch movies, besides it navigation in A50 does not work properly.
You say it's not the brightness screen, but I noticed that you have Adaptive Brightness turned on for both phones... I'll be going to look at a open box XA2 Ultra tomorrow. Having them side by side really helped me make my decision. Thanks bro.
After using both of them I can tell you a difference that you missed. Even though both have two microphones only the XA2 Ultra uses the two microphones as stereo microphones.
Does anyone know if the XA2 Ultra has "screen mirroring" built in? I want to watch youtube on my smart tv but tv doesnt have miracast or googlecast fitted. Its not so smart! Thanks
I would like to know if the quality of sound is very good with Bluetooth headphones? I am very interested to buy this new Xperia smartphone to substitute my old Xperia Z for an alternative smartphone.
Lol, or u can just ORDER it. I ain't think these phones are bein sold in stores of USA etc except the Asian stores. I just bought mine from where it was made from lol in Asia n I can tell u how beautiful it is.
Excuse me, I have an XA1 ultra and screen colour doesn't look like that, you definitely fiddled with the screen settings and the XA1 ultra does not have a plastic look or a bare look to it but each to their own with that but the screen is definitely not it looks like in the video.
Recombu, you have good reviews but lay off the colour grading! We want true to life colours shown, not colour graded for the ever so popular nowadays "cinematic" look, which I totally do not get at all for a review video.

I got the xa2, it sucks no memory if you use a SD card still no memory bc you can't transfer any apps only music pics and video. You can not remote play on ps4 it is not supported on all other xperia phones it is but if u go to a xa1 you don't got the power if you go to a xz premium the screen is smaller and lacks other things the xa2 has but it has memory remote play 4k everything xa2 is 1080p plays will play 4k upscale the pictures suck not a very bright phone compared to a note 4 I have this phone bc of screen size and its cheap 400 new for a upgraded hardware phone but lacks in alot of places. The only way to get a screen as big for remote play is the xz2 ultra premium it has everything but it's 900 and it is still smaller at 5.7 compared to the 6 inch even xz premium may have all the goodies it is at a 5.5 display and is noticeably smaller. Why can't I get a phone the same size if not bigger then a note 4 1 phone that has it all not 1 or 2 things then have to sacrifice something you want for something else they all should have. Like all the phone short people on tech options camera mp memory 1 phone has some things the other phone has the things the other doesn't and not being able to use a SD card on anything on some 32gig have 12,gig after boot up put same games on no pics no video or 4k video not alot of apps then bam 5gig left 128,gig on SD card that I can only use for pics wtf dude on a note 4 I could at least put some apps on the dam thing!!!!
Gaming and Console Tech I did that. I bought the XA1 Ultra for $179 at Bestbuy but then I realized I had to have 4K video so I bought the XA2 Ultra. And the XA2 Ultra can do something else the XA1 Ultra cannot. The XA2 Ultra records videos with left and right microphones where there is no separation of the microphones on the XA1 Ultra.

I wish you would have reviewed the audio between the two I still use the original XA Ultra. That one has a down-firing speaker the xa1 ultra has a front firing speaker and the xa2 ultra went back to a down-firing speaker. I appreciate your video comparing the two models, it would have been nice to have a comparison between both speakers.

I'd honestly be happy if the xa2 ultra supported remote play and had 64g memory or found one with 64g but I'm pretty sure the ultra only has 32..
