Some models while viewing photos hit the ok button and a histogram appears.
Short answer? YES!😉
I recently got hold of a 2009 vintage 12Mp APS-C Pentax K-x and I am very impressed. It’s FAR from perfect given my subjective preferences but it is HIGHLY capable.
The worst critique I could bring against it is that it is very heavy on AA batteries…and that it is APS-C🤪😂
I quite detest cameras that use AA or AAA batteries 😅
"But I still can't see any exposure confirmation, not even a plus or minus sign." Hmm. You're looking at the exposure meter, it's just below the ISO indicator. There should be a readout inside the viewfinder too. Incidentally, when shooting M mode you can set a metered shutter speed using the green button.
I've never used a K-r. I have a K-S1 (introduced 2014) which is one of the smallest DSLRs ever, and nonetheless has a good pentaprism viewfinder. It's quirky and less refined than later models, but I'm getting use out of it.
Yeah, eventually I did figure it out, but it was unintuitive
I love the high contrast preset in black and white on my Pentax K-r ! Almost like the high contrast in the Ricoh GR I/II/III
I'll have to give it a try!
@@MarcoAries 😀👍 You go to 'Digital Filters' and then 'High Conttast'. Then sharpness - or the lack thereof - is no issue anymore 😀 Everything becomes artful 😊
I absolutely fell in love with my PENTAX K-x and then found a K-r like new for not much money right after my first acquisition and I use them both constantly. I do not see much difference between the two. I use a Sigma 18-125mm, the 18-55mm or the 55-250mm. Great video and it resonated immediately my my PENTAX inspirations lately 😀
Glad you enjoyed it!
I still use my Nikon d7000, it also will focus the old Afd Nikon glass I have around
I didn't expect the screw drive autofocus to be that good and fast, even on film!
I have canon 5d classic. Older then this.. And it is a great camera ;)
The 5D has become somewhat of an icon
@@MarcoAries well deserved. ;) not as filmic color as everyone talks.. But it is great all an all...
I have 2, possibly talked myself into buying a 2rd one…
Will sell my later 5D bodies in a heartbeat but NEVER my 5D1’s…
💚
U used K5 till 2020 and now my main camera is K3mk1. No need to upgrade.
Kr has several limitations since it is entry level body. But controls are really easy.
Yes, the Kr does feel limiting
i have this camera. i use it with pentax-m lenses. i often rely on the green hexagon in focus indicator in the viewfinder or red led dot. the movie mode is pretty useless, a battery hog. nice high clean iso rendition. if you can get one for 100 american dollars with a kit lens, it's a bargain. did i mention i have the aa battery adaptor? a must have.
I'm using it with Pentax-M lenses as well, but at anything wider than f2.8 the viewfinder indicator is not precise enough
