Thank you sir I found these after my father passed away he left a bunch of stuff and I have a pair of them and I was wondering what the range was so thank you very much never know someday we may be needing these who knows take care
I have a set of this model too, thanks for the review. I use them when I am in the outdoors and going 4x4ing for truck to truck. I just wish there was a mobile version of the FRS/GMRS that I could mount in my truck like a CB.
Thanks, but I think the answer is a dual band (VHF/UHF) HAM radio, I see now they can be programmed on the UHF side to put out the 0.5 watts that is legal for the FRS frequency.
I bought the same radios at a pawn shop. I have yet to test them out. I was wondering, you mentioned in the video about the manual. Can you send me the link cause mine did not come with a manual. Great review. Thx.
the radio workes off a 1 1/2 watt transmitter and it is 10 years old new rules from the F C C and forgot you are at two miles in town or line of site only sorry.
you know i dont think i ever did update these and i dont have them anymore but what i do mention in the video for range on grs gmrs ect stands for all makes and models so you have to kinda take it form there line of site is your best option for max distance horizian effect and trees building etc. block and reduce range same thing happens with cb radios and so on
Hi sir , you seem to know stuff about walkie talkies. I have a question about the privacy codes. How do I know we're the only ones using them ? My cobra has 121 privacy codes
the real story is you set your radio's at your breffing I am not there I find you on a channel I will only be able to lission in on what you are saying happy trails
I have the same set. When my partner releases the talk button my walkie talkie makes an annoying chirping noise. Is there a way to turn that off? I am not talking about the annoying Roger beep.
I have a set of these and am having some problems charging them. I misplaced the the original USB cord and power supply. But like most, I have a ton of USB cords and power supplies (for cell phones) that I tried but the charging lights won't come on. They have not had much use so they should be able to charge with the original batteries that came with the units. Any suggestions? Thanks!
order the proper usb cable for them not all usb cables work the same even tho the plug looks the same they are not always wired the same i have run into this problem my self alot of times its pain but its all how they wire stuff so it forces you to use their stuff
Thanks, looks like that's what I'll be doing. I never really thought about it being an issue. I used the original as a phone charger and then everything got mixed up and then, obviously lost. Cheers!
sorry not any more he is in 2014 we are in 2023 with new rules family service is know 1 1/2 of a watt so one watt of power or line of site your don sorry he did not read the new book that is out.
this radio is 14 years old in 2017 rules where changed channels 1 through 22 are half a watt except you share channels 15 through 22 with the G M R S group which requires a FED licensee for G M R S which I hold he does not
the answer I you can do that when you get to gether set all your radios to the same channel and if you want to set you code too the same then I will only be able to here not talk to you stay no more than 2 mile apart have fun
well gang Kevin is wrong every he said is a lie he has the old book I have the new book as of 2024 F R S is now 1 & a 1/2 watts for all 22 channels no more H M L just 1&1/2 transmitter and 2 miles or line of site kevin's brain is to small to get how to program radio for G M R S so you are for ever stuck on a sorry 1 mile leash and collar to your other half good luck mission control.
i have 4 units same model as those you have. i work in construction and they did not passed my expectations for a radio. 7 days of constant hard working and hard weather the speaker and the microphone started to fail and the radio started to automatically scan for random signals. I think for someone who takes his job seriously these radios are a big NO NO. they are very poor quality. they even trap moisture inside.
I would go to home Depot thay sell Dewalt two way radios your in a one block squair and 12 floors up there is my thought and built for day to day stuff on the job
well then id say its time to claim a warranty if you have one still or buy a new set of the same or different ones only other thing i can think of is if they are off warranty then take them apart and clean up the pcb board where the buttons are with an eraser and qtip with rubbing alchol put the alchol on the qtip and rub the shit out of the plate surface where the button contatct and clean them as well the buttons again if that fails then youll need a new set unless you can fnd some bad solder joints in that case repair them and then see of they work then so many things affect soft touch buttons
Hello, I have a Cobra CXT1095 FLT and it's stock on lock channel 3. I had push and hold the Call button but nothing. Can someone help me please. The radio received call from the other in the same channel but nothing comes out. Thanks
i came here to see how you charge them if they can be charged thru a 5v powerbank directly in the radio, i belive they have a micro usb port , cant find anything on google and thats exactly what you didnt show...
sorry but not perfect . but they can be charged from the charger and i dont recall if they had the mirco port i sold them but if they did then more then likey yes you would be able to charge from the mirco port, best answer on that is contact the company they will tell you for sure ...google does not have all the answers , even i contact companys when i need to

the F C C call the shots not you F R S is only a 1/2 watt transmitter that is it so 12 blocks and you done know your in my ball park with out a glove MY station runs at 5 watts hand held and my base is 45 watts with both radios I will and do talk 20 miles off a tower do it every day and talk to a tower grid once a month to Chicago ILL yes with that radio's big brother.

Thanks, but I think the answer is a dual band (VHF/UHF) HAM radio, I see now they can be programmed on the UHF side to put out the 0.5 watts that is legal for the FRS frequency.
***** you can get portable ham radios at those places as well. but any ham radio requires a licence
Look at Alinco radios. For over 200 they come in dual band
I have a 45 watt that would fit just right
I bought the same radios at a pawn shop. I have yet to test them out. I was wondering, you mentioned in the video about the manual. Can you send me the link cause mine did not come with a manual. Great review. Thx.

Dress911 Mine charge with any micro USB cable. You may have another problem, or just a cheap micro USB cable.
go to your battery store buy rechargeable battery s and a charger then charge out side of the radio
you can alter/switch between hi and low on frs (channels 8-14) but you have to press and HOLD the max range,hi/low button to change it
thanks for the info
it is only 2 miles tops
sorry not any more he is in 2014 we are in 2023 with new rules

FNX 45 i been looking at them good to listen to but need a licence to transmit on so going to be wating for a bit maybe in the new year
