- Man, this game is a riot. Glad we're finally getting back to streaming it after the disruptions in October. I've personally never played the old Jagged Alliance games, so this is all new to me, and is very entertaining. Something about training militias tickles a part of my strategy brain that I love. Sorry we failed to stop the zombie apocalypse btw the guys.

This game was a really pleasant surprise, and if the devs make more of them I'll be buying them all. I get why people love the old Jagged Alliance games now.

I just hope that they would bring back old mechanic like Air travel by chopper, airports as a way to shop weapon online, a more distinct difference between regular enemies and elite, scouting/spotter with binoc/ nvg at night (night ops was a massive pain in JA2), vehicle enemy.
An improvement idea maybe on allowing the enemy faction to hire mercs as mini bosses/boss from a competing mercs agency as you increase your threat level.

@@LaifuHaikuFunny thing is they just streamlined two things of what you're asking for: NVGs are a thing that take up the head slot and you can take blind fire shots outside your vision range with a decent chance to hit if your marksman is good. Vehicles would be sick, but air travel would trivialize the game as it is.
@@kirbyis4ever NVGs in this game only improve hit chance...in the past you can't see shit in the night without nvg or flares (which make being ambushed by wild tigers at night a horror game).
Air travel is not that trivial once you understand that in Ja 2 you need to create a safe air zone by capturing Sam sites, and make sure they enemy didn't recapture it (and instead of SAM sites we only have observer bases, now). Yeah it will trivialize travel once you maintain the air zone, but the dev could balance it by making it costly
It has nothing to do with the older ones so no, you dont get why people love the older ones
Kalyna is absolutely the most precious character in any JA game ever.
So it started with a blood Daimond trade, then got swerved a little by funny characters, then we got a cliffhanger of a zombie outbreak.
Please, please lay more of this.

I mostly found it amusing that a reason he gave for not playing the previous game is because it’s when he was born, yet I’ve played games older than me and as old as me (hands down some of the best games I’ve played too)

For those watching, Barry's GODLIKE "COOKING" Shape Charges were nerfed, twice. They are still great, but not GODLIKE. Also, machiniguns were "nerfed", before a patch they would overwatch with full AP no matter what you did, now they overwatch depending on the AP remaining on the character, greatly reducing their effectiveness.
i guess the implementation of online shop has eliminated the major weakness of MG's which is bullet economy, so they have to nerf its ap use

There's always a certain amount of existentialism that hits when you realize you're older than one of your favorite content creators.
Its funny seeing that so many reviews from this a few months ago was just full of people thinking this was too modern of a take on the series, yet the only vid I've seen worth going through is someone actually enjoying it. Good stuff Rimmy

Grand Chien just meaning “Big Dog” is so funny
Just caused it made me laugh so hard : in "Gaston le Piston", "le Piston" is a french slang word for nepotism, even on a basic level like a family member using relations to find you a job opportunity or something, thus implying Gaston here either got his position as a low level thug from nepotism and his comrades mock him for it, or that he himself offers such shitty opportunities to others and his famous for it. Both possibilities are incredibly funny and stupid, I love it.
I love the Jagged Alliance series. Such a great game. I love that the Devs brought on the original team when revivifying this franchise. So damn good.

I like how that guy and his buddy try to rob you only to immediately back down and let you rob them the second you don’t give in to their demands. Like they didn’t even try to front being tough as soon as they realized you weren’t gonna pay them.

Thanks for this Rimmy, I have been wanting to see this game played again. It definitely seems to do a lot of things right, and while I know a lot of people give it hate for not being maybe as deep as Jagged Alliance 2 in some ways - the presentation is great and it looks great to me.

A lot of people pick baldur gate 3 as their Tactical game GOTY. Me, i pick this game as my Tactical game GOTY.
Truly an underrated game of 2023.
I don't know about BG3 being TACTICAL GOTY, but I'd definitely put it as RPG of the year. Not played Jagged Alliance yet, but I might try it when I have the cash.

Started playing through the game recently myself and having a lot of fun with it. Never really be one for turn based games but I might try some more in the future.

This got me to buy the game, so far loving it
22:20: So, funny thing? Steroid actually kinda sucks at melee except for his unique move. That's because *Dexterity* is what mostly determines your hit chances in melee, and he has pretty garbage 48 Dex.

If you allow Dr. Kronenberg to keep infecting volunteers, you get the same quest without a time limit.
Also small spolier, the mines run out of money eventually and I feel like its made to make the game more fast. What I like to do is play with one of the mods that make that not happen so I can take it a bit slower and train up my mercs. Makes it feel a bit less rushed and more tactical to me, but then again I am shit at turn based games in general lmao.
I watched like 20 minutes of this, but I’m not gonna watch the rest until after Christmas. Rimmy would be very, very good in advertising. (for people who are confused, this game seems really cool and i don’t want to learn too much of the story before playing it)

Well, technically a well trained sniper is op in real life too. This is why people just flush them out with fire support if possible and this game doesn't have fire support mechanic (yet?)
