Thanks for watching. T-Mobile had a great idea when the commissioned this commercial/video. I am glad I archived it since they removed it from their own channel.
I was a security guard for the mall there during filming.. I remember those days quite well. Yes days there were multiple days of filming. Everyone had so much fun.. including myself
@@bill875Our choir in Los Angeles (City of Angels Community Choirs / COACC Master Chorale) is performing this piece for our Christmas Concert and this is our reference video. It’s a pleasure to watch this - even if my family is totally dysfunctional. At least I can pretend 😂Thanks for the upload. And happy holidays to you and yours!
Yeah, it is something else. This is the mall I grew up near in Schaumburg, IL, so there are plenty of memories here throughout my childhood and beyond. Thanks for your comment :).
You're most welcome! I still love watching it and it just brings a smile to my face. Thanks for stopping by again to watch. Happy Holidays to you and yours!
My 14th year in a row watching this. I remember being astounded watching this on TV for the first time back when I was a teenager just starting high school. By far my favorite rendition of the song...I love this time of the year so much!
I lived down the street from Woodfield when this was filmed. Remember it like it was yesterday. So glad to finally have something better than a 240p version of this back. :-)
I grew up over by Roselle Rd. and Weathersfield Way in Schaumburg. I just love seeing the mall back when it was really hopping! Not that it isn't a happening mall still today, it has lost some anchor stores though since this was filmed. Thanks for appreciating the higher-res video. I'm glad I snagged a copy of it back when it was originally posted by T-Mobile. I'm really disappointed they took it off of their channel, but not the behind the scenes videos, which is odd. Perhaps it came down to a licensing issue, I'm not sure.
@@bill875 the anniversary of this commercial inspired me to visit the mall last week and vlog, which will eventually be up on the channel. After spending a couple years in an apartment in Rolling Meadows as a newlywed, after having the first kid we rented a small ranch house for 3 years off Roselle Rd. in the older part of Hoffman Estates. While the stay was short, I really enjoyed my time there and the neighborhood. And still drive by the house once and awhile. :-)
@@kayvonmansouri from what I recall from folks behind the scenes cell phone videos there were several run through before they settled on this one. So while it was meant to resemble a flash mob dance, it was far from it. But that was to be expected. Look into people's grainy 2011 cell phone videos it is nostalgia feels overload.
@@memoriesbywayne i wish they wouldn't have taken it down. It's become somewhat of a family tradition at our house to watch it around Christmas. They should bring it out every year.
My yearly holiday visit to this song. Very much appreciate the high quality version you share. If it ever gets removed, I hope you can get it back somehow. I really love it.
Great quality. I just discovered this song version at the beginning of the Christmas season. I had been watching the lower quality version. Thanks so much for this one ! It’s interesting T-Mobile removed. So well done and a beautiful song!
Wow. 11 years have gone by and I didn't realize this existed. Someone on FB mentioned it. My son and his now wife used to work there, but didn't see them in the crowds. The video does bring a smile. Thank you for posting
For years I was oppressed and found it hard to get in the spirit but this pulled thru. Now things are better and i still can't watch it just once. I'm addicted... sometimes at Christmas in July too.
I'm glad you enjoy the video. It's a shame that T-Mobile seems to want to take down any instances of this video. If it happens, I will post it elsewhere. Probably Vimeo. I have an upscaled 4K version and it looks fantastic.
The blonde lead signer is Zoe Mirkovich and the T-Mobile spoke person in the middle, at the end, is Carly Foulkes. But I really wish I knew who the black signer is. Her voice is fantastic. But I can't find a trace of her. I hope she is still singing.
This song is a classic (1954), made famous by Perry Como, but this arrangement is specific to this commercial/video commissioned by T-Mobile. According to @grooveman222, the Music is by GrooveWorx with Paul Mirkovich as Music Director and his daughter singing lead in the first half. Thanks @grooveman222 for the information.
It's been 13 years, and I still watch this every holiday season. Love this!

Me too!
Every single year.
Me too! 😅
Same here!

Awesome. Did the mall patrons know what was going on, or were they kinda surprised when the ladies started coming through in all the different takes?
@dldave1978 a lot of people hung around and watched. But there were a lot of new people walking up and they were very surprised
Still watching this in 2023
Thanks for dropping in and having a watch. I still enjoy this video and it isn't quite the holidays until I watch it.

Man I still remember seeing this commercial way back. Was one of my favorite holiday ones
I dig this up every year and play it a few times a day. It's great seeing people in a mall, smiling, give 2020/2021l

Same! Such a great rendition. I wish it was on Spotify

Rly? Black woman really messing up the flow of the song for me. Amazing otherwise
Still waiting for them to release this version on Apple Music 😭
That would be fantastic on Apple Music, TH-cam Music and others. I have to wonder why it hasn't been released. Thanks for watching.
Was this song written especially for this? I've never heard it performed anywhere else.

There was an awesome "making of" video that accompanied this when it first came out. Does anyone know where to find that?
I have a copy of that. I am going to try to upload it to TH-cam. They may block it though like they did the 4K upscaled of this video.
And I miss Carly!
👍
These commercials were so wholesome and beautiful before everything became woke and stupid.
I love Schaumburg, but Woodfield is over rated tbh
