Just wanted to let you know that watching the daily SC BW cast is one of my favorite parts of my day! Thanks for all your work to get these out so often
It is for me too bro. I'm up before the sun erry day, sipping on some fresh grinds and listening to Arty cast BW. It's my ritual. Glad to hear from someone else that has the same appreciation. Take care my friend!
Artosis, I watch on my phone but honestly I mostly just listen anyways. I've been listening to you and Tastless cast for 10 years now on my drives to work and while doing chores. I basically know exactly what's happening just by listening.
@16:50 the protoss makes a mistake. Why doesn't he recall units with his arbiter on top of the siege tanks? That would break up the terran formation much better. Protoss players really struggle accepting arbiters are place holder units for 8 shuttles.
I can see how 2nd CC is fine if you get the probe damage, I think he elects for the 3rd CC gamble because when he poked back in, he kinda saw how much army Rush has and also made it look like he was going to keep up the aggression as well, so Rush got 'persuaded' to take a really defensive/safe build and then Light just greeds in response. Very smart play.
Not persuaded nor a gamble. Light forced the issue. The mines and the threat of a vulture run by forced Rich to defend until observers. Only a blind shuttle reaver could have punished, but even that would have depended on Light defending poorly, and delayed his own 3rd even more since he can't clear mines effectively.
@@kudosjp2 Or you just build a gate on the low ground and hold position a goon to block any run-bys (note pylon positioning) and move out with the rest of your units and clear the mines (while teching to obs). microing a few goons with some zealots you can clear mines without obs (tricky to juggle this and macroing though). I think Rush decided on 2-base Arbiter because he was expected continued aggression from Light and it was the safest build possible in that position, and Light read that reaction beautifully and went super greed and got away with it.
light played amazing greedy early by no scouting into late cross scouting to see whether he can punish early or go even greedier, seeing nexus first and going on the offensive with that mini early lead of late scout the amount of probes that died was absolutely insane and huge blunder on riches side from then on it was smooth sailing
I think when you finish an engagement and you reset the armies, you have to consider your current position, and where you want to press your advantage state. 21:23 after the tank dies, he has great vision with the mines and knows his opponent cant push for quiet some time. That 2nd attack to set up all those mines really allowed him to set up the 3rd risk free.
Dude, what in the beauty was that Terran opening and early mid-game? Delayed natural into cross scout into push into turbo greed. Leaving toss at 13 workers. The initial plan damages econ but he's left with a small army. So then he attacks while double expanding?? How in the shiz does light find a push when he's supposed to be at his most vulnerable? I think he fully expected the second push to fail. From the protoss view it looks like terran is behind on econ so he's commiting to a pretty all-in second push. Toss thinks that, "as long as I hold this desperate attack I'll be way far ahead." Light want's him to stay in his base and defend, even at the expense of Terran's units. That's what I think anyways. Either way, such a sick game! Don't know what I'd do without ArtosisCasts.
Honestly I really enjoy listening to arty trying to figure out a puzzling build and break it apart with all the different directions it could go and the ramifications of each eventuality. Not even trying to sound dramatic but it really does feel like watching a master at work.
#1 unit in the game is the probe. This game is half economy, and the probe owns the entire damn podium when it comes to workers and their abilities. Without the probe, Protoss wouldn't even be a race. They'd be reduced to wandering the map like Kukarus and the other in game NPCs.
18:17 wow... leaning so close to the black hole, feels like Light's tanks are in an event horizon. Interesting seeing Light use a protoss technique to arrange his vultures and tanks during move out. Very interesting to see the shift in 3rds preference to go back to the quadrant style even if it's a mineral only. Just to cover the approaches to the Main. Not sure how defending the arc is easier than defending the short route to the protoss main, especially on pantheon where you can siege from OPPONENT's mineral only, and siege down on fringe production from outside the base. starting to feel like a theme for the maps in this season's pool: Dominator, Monty Hall, and Pantheon. All three maps have safe siege positions either in a different base, or separated by cliffs, but still able to reach critical positions like expansions or production in main bases with liberal buildable terrain.
Long time fan arty, I like the video before I watch it everytime and sub to you on twitch. Honestly rarely get to watch you live because time zones are a bitch but enjoy the stream too. Could you consider streaming on TH-cam simultaneously like a lot of other streamers please? Honestly your channel is the only reason I ever even open the app. Hopefully this stroked your ego somewhat as you definitely deserve our praise and respect for your dedication and hard work within starcraft over all these years.
his counter-attack timing had to be right after observer rush to counter light. Also zero defensive upgrades at 5 base is insanely late. No other way to come back but match or exceed upgrades vs that tank ball.
Rich has no vision of Lights final push, he thought(I would too) Light would kept pushing to the "sweet spot", like 90% of the time. The flank got predicted and countered with minimum response time, just Light being superior.
I'll be glad when these defensive two base Arbiter rushes fall out of the pro meta. Protoss hobbles itself economically, is unable to apply any pressure, and can't do anything if Terran decides to greed. Even in the rare games you've casted where it works (e.g. holds off a timing attack), it still feels sub-optimal.
In addition to intentional practice custom games a lot of the pros are very popular streamers and they have tons of leagues or just fan-sponsored matches. I think Arty mentioned it before but tournament winning from ASL/SSL are really not that important when it comes to their earnings.
I'm a big fan of Light and how he plays a clean game. This was a weird one though! JyJ is probably my favorite Terran b/c he has a great range of play and a style that is tricky for opponents. I think he has a better chance to beat Soulkey!
I've never played this game in a competitive way, but I watch all of your videos, they are so entertaining. Lately I've felt like it would be fun to try to learn, but maybe it is too late, these people are very stablished in their skill level...
If it was anyone else than Artosis fan boying over light, he's would say he is stupid, no timely scout, 3rd base too quickly and even 4th base... Was funny to see what everyone on Artosis streams bully him with... no but seriously, was nice seeing a different build and it working out for once
Watching Snow *not* go reavers was a shock. Wonder what Rich will do? 4:09 holy shit LMAO I was NOT expecting this !!!! 6:09 when the mines tickles Arty’s G-Spot 😳😳😳😳😫😫😫😫🫣🫣🫣

Agreed! It's always exciting to see what matchup we have after I get home from work.
@artosis Want to know top 5 broodwar Games . Is IT flash svp rain g1 then flash vs snow 23 then soma snow g1 ans 5 ur guess
It is for me too bro. I'm up before the sun erry day, sipping on some fresh grinds and listening to Arty cast BW. It's my ritual. Glad to hear from someone else that has the same appreciation. Take care my friend!
Light's thought process: Let's confuse Artosis
worked like a charm: at 14:30 the guy says that light got away with a super greedy build lol
Artosis, I watch on my phone but honestly I mostly just listen anyways. I've been listening to you and Tastless cast for 10 years now on my drives to work and while doing chores. I basically know exactly what's happening just by listening.
Same here.
Love to listen. It's kinda like how people used to listen to baseball games on the radio.
6:07 screamed like he got hit with the mines 😭😭
Method casting.
Hey Artosis I had a math test today. I wrote “probe“ as answer to all questions. Thanks
Phone user here, zero issues telling what's going on when you zoom out.

Great to see a reminder of why Light is feared late game. I can’t imagine how many hot keys he has saved
I noticed the protoss was very vulnerable to nuclear launch detected this match.
light played amazing
greedy early by no scouting into late cross scouting to see whether he can punish early or go even greedier, seeing nexus first and going on the offensive with that mini early lead of late scout
the amount of probes that died was absolutely insane and huge blunder on riches side
from then on it was smooth sailing
I thought Zealot legs are the answer to everything.
I'd argue that if he didn't have zealot legs, he'd be in a much worse position.
But I don't want to argue.

You should try this build on ladder, Im sure the protoss wont just rally all the goons through the mines in front of your natural
The thumbnail game getting stronger I see.
“1 spell Gateway Man”

In place of Flash a Fantasy game would be pretty nice!
Need a light.

Light taking economic risk after making his opponent uncomfortable early game, flipping the script on the matchup
This game was so unusual I thought I was dreaming.
that tank formation is called a semi-circle
the opposite of it is called a delta or a wedge.
That huge tank army :kreygasm:
1 failed push = 1 chill
"[...] the win rate for Terran is close to zero percent." Yeah that sums up SC1 in a nut shell, tbh.
Love watching these videos!!! Thank you
That first recall was amazingly crap at the exact moment those zealots were most needed to charge at tanks and mines.
Loved the game, loved the cast. Great stuff!
If I have 12, and another 9 tanks how many tanks do I have?
Artosis: 22 tanks
Plus one stasised
Love these casts❤
Zerg is so HYPE!
Another game arbiter tech doesn't pay off. For that matter just dt are cheaper
Artosis adores Light a lot and me too :)
arty can't comprehend the concept of a 3rd base
I clicked to tell you that the probe in the thumbnail looks like a bee. Thanks for the video.

Should have focused on stasis, instead of doing that horrible recall.
Awesome game from Terran!

Why the don't recall zealots on top the siege tanks?
Sick game. Good cast
so i may say arbiter strategy is not gonna work?
Amazing game by Light, damn
How a pro who doesn’t play the ladder trains?
Custom Games against other pros
In addition to intentional practice custom games a lot of the pros are very popular streamers and they have tons of leagues or just fan-sponsored matches. I think Arty mentioned it before but tournament winning from ASL/SSL are really not that important when it comes to their earnings.
Arty, I love your guts. Keep better tabs on the minimap
Some Sharp games perhaps ? Thanks!
chills vs thinks ... more thinks this time

“12 + 9 = 22” - artosis 2024

no but seriously, was nice seeing a different build and it working out for once
oh yea!
thanks; every game's a good game in 2024
