  • Join us today when we are exploring Kifissia in north Athens. Kifissia is a really nice neighborhood and we love to explore the northern suburbs of Athens. We walk around in the beautiful neighborhood that looks like Beverly Hills, some people call it Athens Beverly Hills☺️ We also visit a patisserie/cafe called Varsos and later we go for Italian food at a restaurant called La Pasteria.

Hi girls, I mean hi again, no need to say that I am a fanatic follower of all your videos, which I find really interesting, as they show my city and my country in an objective way, through the eyes of a foreigner living in Greece. Some time ago I commented on your video about “the pro and cons of Greece” and truth is that I may have sounded a bit, just a bit, scornful of it, considering some of your comments a little superficial, yet, let me say that I really do appreciate your overall sincerity and the fact that you are here with us. Thank you!!! Now few comments about your Kifisia video: Look, Kifisia “is not different from Greece”, actually it’s very much “Greece”, after all Greece has so many faces being 80% of an alpean landscape and not just beaches, islands and sun! . The truth is that Kifisia is a lucky Athenian suburb which was not destroyed or demolished during the catastrophic years of the recent Greek history that brought about the destruction of the rest of the city during the post ww2 and the civil war that followed it, years. All of Athens was a fantastic neoclassical city as Placa and the remaining buildings of its center testify. So, its rather the rest of the city that “does not look like Greece” and not vice versa. But yes, of course i do understand what you mean. I also understand why you compare Kifisia with Beverly Hills, yet the real sort of Beverly Hills like Athens suburb is not Kifisia, it’s Ekali, located few klms further north, where the rich people of Athens have their mansions. Kifisia is more, let’s say a suburb-museum, where Athenians traditionally go to walk around, have a drink or dinner/lunch, breath its fresh air, and sort of remember how more beautiful their city could have been. And yes, it’s expensive to live there, but it’s not a mainly residential area we’re talking about since the house offer is practically not existing. At any case, far as I know the most expensive areas in Athens far as housing is concerned are the ones around Vouliagmeni. Thank you again girls, keep up this way, and as I have already suggested some time ago, take the metro to all directions , get off in different stations, and show how decent all more or less the neighborhoods of Athens, the more or less or least glamorous ones are! Regards and best wishes!!

Flower Exhibition an institution that was born in 1937.The Flower Exhibition of the Municipality of Kifissia is the largest and most recognizable in the field of Greek floriculture. It is an important commercial event that attracts thousands of visitors every year, professionals and amateurs of green and flower lovers, who combine their walk in a beautiful area - with their purchases of floriculture and horticulture items and products. It is usually held around the end of April until mid of May.

Kifissia is known as the capital of North Athens. All North suburbs for me are just another level compared to other places and neighborhoods of Athens. Also I grew up on the North side and I know these places really well. You can't even imagine how rich people are in the north. Famous singers, TV personalities, actors, politicians, even the Prime minister. Athletes, ambassadors , doctors, lawyers. The Greek high society at its best. Other suburbs have even more expensive cars, villas and other facilities but it doesn't have the Kifissias market, fancy restaurants and bars. Also North is greener indeed. It rains more than the center of Athens or South suburbs. And it's just half an hour away. Also is cooler in summer (but not that much) and colder in winter. Snow actually in Kifissia and surrounding areas is not that uncommon. Usually it snows 2-3 times every winter( except this abnormal year). As a lover of greenery and cold I would every day prefer the northern side that the south one. But it's just me🤣
PS: Kifissia 50 years ago was like fairytale. And yes it's varsos you said it right. I think it's a bit overrated but ok

Magnificent presentation of Kifisia ladies!!!! Back, in my university years, it was a suburb that I was visiting regularly. I will probably sound cynic, but beauty in architecture, streets, cars goes alongside wealth.I don't know about you, but i am glad that winter, has finally arrived🌧🌧🌧 .Regards from Adamantas, Milos.

If you liked Kifissia, surprise surprise you got to visit 3 or 4 more areas near Kifissia. That is Erythraia, Politeia Kefalari and finally Psixiko ( Ψυχικό ). Τhese are similar or even better suburbs of Athens. Generally all areas near mountains like Parnitha or Pentelikon (mountain which has a quarry of marble where the marbles of Acropolis came from) or even Ymittos in which vegetation and trees like pines still exist comprise a totally different environment than the city of Athens. That's why many villas have been constructed on them where the rich Greeks live in Athens.

    Hello girls..
Kifissia was the holiday resort of the Athenians ... of course the rich Athenians ..in late 19 century and early 20 century
To go to Athens by car at the beginning of the 20th century, it was an hour by car...and the road was small and most for the horse carriages....and no cars ...
( Very small number of cars exist in Greece this period and i mean early 20 century)
In Kifissia was the house of Prime Minister Ioannis Metaxas in 1940... there the Italian ambassador visited him in the early morning of 10/28 to deliver the Italian ultimatum...
Metaxas' reply to the Italian ambassador (for the record) as soon as he read it not "no"...( OΧΙ ) but in French he told him "so we have a war"

Hej, Victoria and Helene! I discovered your channel about a week ago and since then i have watched a lot of your videos! They are quite interesting! I have to tell you that i admire Scandinavia since my adolesence (today i am 50) but i have never been there by today! I love the mentality of people there and the good organization of the Scandinavian states which is missing a lot unfortunately here in Greece. Although i was born and raised in Pangrati i never liked Athens and i decided to move to Corinth 7 years ago. I suggest visiting Pangrati which is very close to the Panathenaic stadium and Loutraki later in the year (for example in spring) which is near the Corinth Canal. You can reach Loutraki only by bus of KTEL Korinthias. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask me (i am a tour guide)! Hej do, girls!
