Here they seem to be the defender of the castle and the crown versus other high class players, because he's pro play end this year and an another king must pick up the crown . Now you know! 😉😁
So far the only reactor I've seen focusing on what's happening behind Emily's voice/scream. Not that it's a bad thing though, on the contrary, it helped me appreciate even more the whole song.
Just here to say that they also have a new drummer, who is an insanely good producer and composer. Real good addition to the familiar sound of LP. Also: I was at their show in Hamburg on Sunday where they premiered the song and Emily (the new vocalist) nailed that 15 second scream live as well. Looking forward to the new album, it sounds so much like the old stuff, but is still different. Really nice!
In the last chorus the way "crown" blends with the guitar octaves and then harmonize in the second bar is mindblowing...they also panned the lead synth a bit to keep the vocals in the spotlight... Really good songwriting and god-tier mixing.
I've been on a NPR tiny desk concert binge recently. Some of them have been a great listen with the things you've been teaching (.PAAK, WILLOW to name a few). Thanks again for putting the information out for everyone, Tony!
HELL YEAH IT WORKED! I hope this spawns more League stuff again, like going through each of the Worlds songs but next yearly cinematic comes in 3 months, so it's okie.
Love the new Linkin Park, it's honestly more of what we loved about the old stuff mixed with a fresh take on their sound and yes that scream sent every fan over the edge when it happened. Like damn bro this song hits.
Limping just to destroy that one team that tormented them for 2 years straight at the worlds stage adn to show the world that T1 does not lose to the LPL
I think this title holds multiple meanings. Like the famous quite says, it's hard to reach the top, it's harder to remain there. This holds true for the game itself, since it has a large player base and it encourages being competitive, constantly improving. However, it holds true for the band itself as well. The band has been out for years, since the tragic incident. Chester established a worldwide reputation, his voice became, combined with the iconic LP sound, easily recognizable. Finally finding a replacement for such a well regarded and skilled vocalist, the place he left behind, not anyone can fill it. The pressure from the fans, and most importantly from the top tier music they put out throughout the years, this girl needs some commendation.
This is the worlds 2024 anthem, so the part where the music drops off those people depicted are the past champions with Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok being the main guy.
If you like this stuff, I highly recommend a few other things. Personally, the world's 2018 anthem "Rise" is insanely good, imo the best one they've ever made. If you like metal stuff, Pentakill's albums are really good. Each one has a different sound to it as well, all sung by Jorn Lande. I'm a huge fan of a lot of those songs, so im not sure I can give recommendations on just like 2 from each album. The 3 albums in order are Smite and Ignite, Grasp of the Undying, and Lost Chapter. I'll list my favorites below, but again, long list. Lots of champ themes are good too, Pantheon and Fiddlesticks, and Jhin's themes are really high up there for me. Smite and Ignite: Lightbringer Deathfire Grasp Last Whisper Thornmail Grasp of the Undying: Cull Mortal Reminder Tear of the Goddess Infinity Edge Dead Man's Plate Frozen Heart Lost Chapter: Lost Chapter Edge of Night Last Stand Stormrazor Gathering Storm Predator Lightbringer (Acoustic)
The first couple times I heard this song, during that breakdown, I focused only on the screams. After that, though, I started noticing the guitar behind her, and it is *glorious.* Simple, sure; but I think simple is often the key to beauty in music.
The really funny thing is that many LP fans are leaving comments like, 'Who are those Asian people?' and 'I don't know much about League, but can someone explain it to me?' It seems like LP fans genuinely think it's a music video for LP's comeback. Of course, they aren't at fault. The problem is Riot, and Riot is really stupid. They are using the most popular team in League of Legends for band promotion.
Haven't heard of a promotion for something that is widely known as Linkin park. Based on your description, it's more of promotion for league given the fact that people who commented don't know what league pros are.
Dude, it's literally the opposite, you think LP need league promotion? lol. Riot who's getting promoted by Linkin Park's name, the type of comment you cited just proves that point, there's tons of people watching the video BECAUSE Linkin Park and not because of League
I love this song by Linkin Park it brings me back to Meteora with Mikes Rapping. You should check out the new Jinjer songs “Someone’s Daughter” and “Rogue” you haven’t reacted to them in a while
Simple explanation from the visuals is that it is based on the game League of legends, every one of them is impersonating a ''champion'' which are the playable characters of the game, it's a 5v5 that's why there's only 10 people there not counting the band, the team that's like royal and stuff is SK Telecom's (SKT for short) team, one of the best teams the game has for E-Sports (Electronic Sports) and the winner of multiple world championships, Faker, the guy with the crown, is considered the best player of the game, that's why the cool entrance at the end. Riot has done multiple tributes to Faker thought the years, the song Rise from the 2018 world championship video is my personal fav. EDDT: Now that I think about it, Faker's favorite champion and the one he is impersonating is Azir which is the king of a nation in the game's fantasy story, cool thing they used that as a thematic for this video.
I'd love to see you listen to this piece from Baldurs Gate 3 called "The Odds Are Cast Anew", It's such a underrated gem which is overshadowed by the more popular themes.
If I may suggest, the first session is to listen to the full song, and the second session started the breakdown, from the lyrics and music, I hope this helps
So a bit of context: league of legends is a 5v5 team game that is played by millions. The professional scene is huge, garnering hundreds of thousands viewers for their tournaments. The biggest tournament is WORLDS, where teams duke it out to determine the best team in the world. The undisputed best player is named "Faker", he is the only person to win 4 times and is well known for his skills/leadership/strategy/ect. Faker is the guy at the end who opens the door. Everyone who is storming the castle are teams that are trying to usurp the reigning champions from last year.
The most amusing part of Linkin Park's return are the folks that are just like, "Oh woe is me, Linkin Park isn't trying anything new, Heavy is the Crown sounds like every other song they've ever done." All the players depicted in this video are using their favored character's weapons in League of Legends. I've been out of the loop for a while but it seems like T1 is the defending team here, a team from Korea with a history of dominating at the League of Legends worldwide tournaments and who also won last year. At 11:30, the star player of T1, Faker, steps out with the weapon of his favored champion, Azir The Emperor. Maybe it's a coincidence but it's very fitting for him to use/like this character, since Faker is viewed by many as the best player of League of Legends in the entire world (for years now), hence "The Emperor".

Fun worlds controversy. Worlds 2023 Anthem was a celebration video for the most recent winners. Aka, the music and artists were more so to support the video. So this year, the Korean community expected this anthem to be the same especially since one of the most iconic players, Faker, won. The Korean community is mad because it felt like this was more so a Linkin Park promotional video than a celebration video for last years winner. They are getting so angry that it is getting covered on big Korean news channels. It felt like the new Linkin Park lady had more screen time than Faker which is just absurd. It's funny how Linkin Park fans and non-league players absolutely love the video and song while League fans find it absolutely sacrilegious and disrespectful.
Calling it sacrilegious and disrespectful is a bit farfetched. Faker has been in multiple worlds songs videos and had a hall of fame event earlier this year. Yes maybe the worlds video featuring the band is not the best decision but Imagine Dragons were also in the Arcane series itself, so it's not the first nor will it be the last time riot does this.
it is sacrilegious AND disrespectful. This was Faker's hard earned victory turned into a half-assed Linkin Park music video. Now, I love Linkin Park, but this new chick is absolutely ruining the image of Linkin Park. This misstep is just another mistake they've made since Chester.
Korean band wrote a song of an korean about beating koreans hosted in korea, ( which they have never done before, video documentary) weebs & koreans gets mad cause they aint getting a video documentary in Eu? 🤣 😂
Last year they also reviewed bomb the last song aswell cause it was about beating faker. made a song of the wrong korean massive dislike. I mean you cant reason with these people better to ignore them
Great analysis but you missed the main point of the song which is Emily Armstrong holding out the 15-second scream as a nod to Chester's 17 second screem.
👍 Cool. I think you missed the part of the video where i said I wasn't a LP fan. No clue, or concern, about said scream from the past. We are talking about the music here in this track. If that's the main point... lmao WHY would it be in the League anthem song? Not sure that's the takeaway
@ See. He’s doing it again lol “oh man these incredible electric triangle synths going on so subtle just seconds before the drop and then the obvious detuned piano string just grazing against the mic as the snare hits… beautifully done.” 😂😂😂
@@DrumRollTonyReacts “Yeah and if you notice the obvious middle eighth there underneath the bridge coda, oh man, that’s smooth. And it’s right in time with the record scratch that is reverse processed through the cymbal. Crazy good.“
korean people need to stop crying about everything, you're incels, kpop fandom harasses anyone that talks about their "idols" and now you people see racism where there is none, have you seen at emily and mike shinoda irl? or massu irl? they look NOTHING like how they look in the video
Yea, I have my own dysphoria from my journey. I found Asian women unattractive until my 30s.. so.. it took a decade of exposure in the city. I didn't have any family to even be exposed to. I suppose I see what most white folk see. :P
I found Asian women unattractive until my mid-30s, after a decade of exposure in a multi-cultural city. An Asian dude, so un-used to the culture and people. The funny thing is, I was always still naturally attracted to slender, dark haired women, just.. white women. Yea, my journey was really messed me up.
This is probably the worst story telling a worlds song has ever had, basically linkinpark for 40 seconds, its such a downgrade, that said, the song is very decent, a cool switch from the usual worlds songs.
@@DrumRollTonyReacts Short version: This feels more like a Linkin Park music video that features League stuff, rather than a League of Legends Worlds video by Linkin Park. Longer version: The issue is essentially that the "Worlds" songs (which this is) tend to historically be showcases for the players, often the previous winning teams. Meanwhile this last year had T1 (a team led by Faker, the "king" in this video) won again for the 4th time (Faker's fourth title but the first for the rest of this current version of the roster) after success early in their career. This is essentially the teams "return to glory". So people have a bit of an issue with how much the band is focused on over the players (previous videos have never included the bands). Faker should've been the star of the video, instead of getting cut away from for longer shots of the lead singer. Generally everyone is liking the song, but the execution of the video feels like it missed the memo on what it was supposed to be. If you want a good comparison for what people were wanting, watch "Gods" by New Jeans. Visually I think that's more the vibes people were expecting the videos narrative to follow.
@@XenosvonFaneli Then learn your classics. They have already done something similar at the early stages of world's anthem, like with Imagine dragons. Just people tend these days to see everything darker or w/e they can in a bad way. For me, and that's only for me, i found this more hype (and that's the main reason of a world anthem) for what we will see. Visually, it was beautifully animated, and yes Faker wasn't on a lot of screen time BUT that way, he was the MAIN caracter of this video. It was really well executed, maybe too much for youngs idk. W/e, musically, again, it was perfect, cuz of the change of style. Oh and yea, as usual, like all years, some are complaining about the songs, but in the end, we know that a huge part will come back on their words xD Again, a great reaction there, was happy to hear all your "neardy" stuff, that's what i personnaly like !

@@Yrzi LOL. "Just make a new band" I am not sure that is good for the brand or the musicians involved. I think the easiest route here is that you just don't listen to the new material and leave it be. Has 0.0% impact on your life what they do with the brand they created.
If you wanna play the "original members card", Chester wasn't one. Mike and Brad are the only two founding members and they're still here. Chester was the *last* addition to the band. The only person who was "replaced" was the drummer, because Rob was never as into the rockstar life as the others to begin with and chose not to get back into it. The new lineup still has the Linkin Park sound, so if you're not enjoying it, you're not a Linkin Park fan. You're a Chester stan, and ftr I don't think he'd approve of how toxic people are being about his best friends continuing their career.

You should react to the ULTRAKILL ost
Great analysis but you missed the main point of the song which is Emily Armstrong holding out the 15-second scream as a nod to Chester's 17 second screem.
👍 Cool. I think you missed the part of the video where i said I wasn't a LP fan. No clue, or concern, about said scream from the past. We are talking about the music here in this track. If that's the main point... lmao WHY would it be in the League anthem song? Not sure that's the takeaway
Pretty sure this guy is making stuff up as he goes along… “oh man that left hand piano… so crazy” … everyone just agrees “oh yeah me too”
Lol what? How can I make something up that's so blatantly musically obvious. That makes no sense
@ See. He’s doing it again lol “oh man these incredible electric triangle synths going on so subtle just seconds before the drop and then the obvious detuned piano string just grazing against the mic as the snare hits… beautifully done.” 😂😂😂
@WorkFromYourLaptop 😅😅😅😅😅😅 you need to reboot your 🧠
@@DrumRollTonyReacts “Yeah and if you notice the obvious middle eighth there underneath the bridge coda, oh man, that’s smooth. And it’s right in time with the record scratch that is reverse processed through the cymbal. Crazy good.“
@WorkFromYourLaptop bridge coda??? No clue what you talkin bout Willis
Can you please listen to chaser by mammal hands? And if not on video please on private!!! ❤
Please react to the league of legends worlds 2024 orchestral theme
React to the Pentakill band from league of legends
Day 5 of asking you to react to "Cobra" by Yoko Maeno from anime Space Cobra
I'm not a fan of emily's voice
Boomer Reacts to League of legends Gameplay when? lol.
Hahaga
The song is good(8/10), but the music video is very disappointing(2/10). If asians watch the music video, they can feel racism.
korean people need to stop crying about everything, you're incels, kpop fandom harasses anyone that talks about their "idols" and now you people see racism where there is none, have you seen at emily and mike shinoda irl? or massu irl? they look NOTHING like how they look in the video
I don't see it. I'm South Korean, but raised 🍁, so suppose I'm a bit tone deaf in that sense.
@@pwndad I'm American myself but you really are tone deaf if you can't see they made most of the Asian players look the same lol.
Why you so fake?!!!!!!???
This is probably the worst story telling a worlds song has ever had, basically linkinpark for 40 seconds, its such a downgrade, that said, the song is very decent, a cool switch from the usual worlds songs.
Sheeeesh ....
@@DrumRollTonyReacts i recommend listening to the other world songs, maybe a mashup video? Would love to hear your thoughts
20 or so seconds lol
@@DrumRollTonyReacts
Short version: This feels more like a Linkin Park music video that features League stuff, rather than a League of Legends Worlds video by Linkin Park.
Oh and yea, as usual, like all years, some are complaining about the songs, but in the end, we know that a huge part will come back on their words xD
Again, a great reaction there, was happy to hear all your "neardy" stuff, that's what i personnaly like !
i was waiting for months to see black clover openings reaction on your channel. bro u must listen to all 13 black clover openings trust me u wont regret all of them are bangers.
like this comment is u agree
Lol I gotta make a video about this since I get comments daily...I DID AND TH-cam BLOCKED IT 🚫 Its on patreon now.
@@DrumRollTonyReacts please can u upload on yt somehow or something i want to see ur reaction on black clover ops sooooo much i cant buy patreon ;(( thanks for respond
@@karichashviliii I just told you that TH-cam blocked the video. Re uploading is not going to change anything other than I could run a risk of being insuboordinate and they view that as a reason to issue a strike. LOL 100% not doing that.
@@DrumRollTonyReacts sadly allright, btw if u have that video of reaction can u send me on fb or insta or idk somewhere.. sorry for bothering you
@karichashviliii it's like $5 for that and way more on his patreon :)
Its not Linkin Park for me with only one original member.
OG format is always the OG format for sure. But... I'll never understand the limitation or non acceptance of artists from a consumer standpoint.
There are only 2 missing original members. Wtf are you talking about?
@@DrumRollTonyReacts Just make a new band if you have new members, I would feel the same if McCartney tried to pull a Beatles comeback rather than doing his own thing for example.
Sounds exactly like Faint.. BTW..How can you just pause on the most epic scream to nerd out?!?
Different things impress differently depending on who is listening
@@DrumRollTonyReacts Fair enough.. Have a great weekend 😁
