Location: Petronas Towers, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia
The most iconic structure in Kuala Lumpur is without a doubt the Petronas Towers. No trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is complete without getting selfie in front of the tower!
Unfortunately, it's quite expensive to visit the skybridge that connects the Petronas Towers. For this reason, we decided to enjoy the view of the towers from the ground.
You can go inside the bottom of the Petronas Towers for free. The small structure between the two towers is a giant shopping mall, complete with food court that offers all kinds of affordable meal options.
If you want to know what it's like to visit the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur check out this VLOG!

about the security guards carrying heavy guns, this is new. it started since isis begun bombing tourist attraction in other countries and malaysian police force did stop three different attempts by isis to plant bombs. they never manage to even build the bombs, but hey i guess better be safe than sorry.

I'm glad when countries take a very proactive (rather than a reactive) stance towards terrorism and other security threats.

Regarding escalators, here in the UK they are using the Asian style system for the simple reason it that they want you to walk pass the shops and maybe get tempted to buy something (aka increasing footfall).Loving the vlog, I only subscribed today. Keep up the good work.

Nate, as someone who works in the Hotel industry, I LOVE hearing about how you earn your points and the status upgrades you get by signing up for different CC's. I feel not enough people take advantage of what hotel chains, cc companies and airlines offer. Just a little creative maneuvering and look what you can do!

regarding the escalator, it's the same reasoning why they put eggs, milk, cheese and meat (the most used food items) in the back of the grocery store so that you would impulsively buy candies on your way there

The escalators are designed like that because it actually keeps people in the mall to keep shopping. They hope that you’ll hit a few more stores before you leave. It’s the same as supermarkets. Most people run into a supermarket for milk, so the dairy aisle is purposely positioned on the other side of the store so you will buy more. There’s a reason for everything!

I hate the act of traveling. If I could wiggle my nose and appear where I want to go I would go without hesitation. But the crowds, lines, planes, trains and automobiles, and dragging heavy luggage everywhere - I just can't tolerate that stuff any more. So watching your vlog is perfect for me. I don't have to do the traveling, but I can enjoy what it would be like if I did travel. Sometimes I actually feel like I've had a meal after I watch one of your food trek videos. Flats provide many advantages for commuters or adventure riders. Varying footwear options, easier to just get on and go. My road bikes have clipless, my gravel bike has clipless with a flat plate adapter, and my adventure and rain bikes only have flats. No chamois needed, waterproof trail shoes so no booties, and just go. Just love cycling and embrace what works for you Thx for testing. ❤

Hi Kara and Nate. Firstly I love your story and way of presenting and having watched some of the later blogs first, I am backtracking and now watching from the start. Early ones: TOO much about food :-) On this one I really dont understand why you didnt go to top of Petronas Towers. Only $20!!. You are getting free food in the hotel. leave out the street food and go up. Dare I say it's the reason to visit Kuala Lumpur. I always feel when travelling there are things that are a must. For instance in Venice - a gondola ride - I took one with my wife, it cost €125 about 15 years ago and probably nearly €200 in today's money for 20 minutes. Yes very expensive but the experience was wonderful. It was so romantic ( oarsman even sang opera) and worth it for the experience. I know you have done amazing things in later videos and I have noted some that Id hope to do when we can all travel again. Like the credit card tips and love the videoing and editing - superb.
