The sad thing is, in the books, Tissaia and Francesca were best friends. And in the show, they're trying to kill each other right from the start of the battle.
I wouldn't say best friends, but good friends/comrades as members of the Chapter. They did end up in "opposite" sides tho, as Francesca was working with Nilfgaard. But I get what you mean. Francesca was a powerful and respect mage, not this mess they played her out to be.

She's literally willing to kill everyone in her way to get what she wants, just as she was willing to hand over the entire Brotherhood to Emhyr in the books.
I love this video but it is also so tragic. MyAnna is a talented actress with such emotional depth- you can rally see Tissaia shatter and break irreparably then the hits keep on coming and you can see how she breaks further and further despite trying to hide it.

I was a bit confused as to why Yennefer ran through Arezuta to get to Tissaia, rather than open a portal. Tissaia had taken down the wards/magic preventing portalling. So why did Yen run and not portal?
The show doesn't care about the books at any point. They had an opoortunity to do one thing more logical, they could have saved Tissaia but suddenly they decided to stick to the original plot (at least to some extend)
Francesca was awesome in the books I hate what they did to her in the show. She is described as one of the most beautiful characters in the book even by elf standards(no offense to the actress). Though her and Tissaia were still on opposite sides. Plus the magic battles in the show are underwhelming compared to how they were described in the books. When the battle of Thanedd happens it feels like there were earthquakes for miles and the entire building was shaking because of how powerful the spell cast by the mages were. There was also a fun bit in the books that will never be in the show where Francesca kidnaps Yennefer by turning her into a figurine and Francesca only releases her MONTHS later and tries to convince her to join her side. It's a shame that we'll never see the conclave come to life.
Francesca was a joke in the show. Not the actress fault, but the writers. The Coup wasn't what it could have been, unfortunately. It's way more dramatic in the books.
The coup was epic in the books. My favourite bitwas when geralt let go and started ripping the piss out of everything at the banquet literally pissing myself at 4am cos i couldn't stop reading then the battle wow. What a book the time of contempt hope they nail milva and regis.
Francesca is plenty beautiful in the show. Her actress is a model irl. The bad writing however has ruined so many characters, hers included. They made a massive mistake by leaving her out of the Brotherhood.. it would have made the coup much more dramatic.

i jst finished the show and i am missing tissaia so much, most beautiful thing in this show , without tissaia and henry this show is nothing😑

Her character was one of the few good things in that show. And they did her so dirty by killing her off so easily.
Its actually funny. They dont give a shit about books, but in this case they decided to keep her suicidal death. xD
