I have been looking at your videos for about 6 months and I am going to start teaching my grandson about RC cars thanks for all for the information that you give on all your video
Welcome to moto. An addiction that can't be replaced.
That's too funny! I just got back into RC cars about 2 years ago and started watching your channel regularly for advice and insights. Now I'm getting back into dirt bikes and have been cross-shopping the CRF250 and KX250. It seems like there's a lot of dual sports people out there like us. Enjoy the new bike :)
Good video as usual. I am in a similar boat, Ryan, am buying a CRF250L after not being on a bike seriously in 30 years and being an ATV rider for most of that time. I am doing this for the heck of it and to get a motorcycle lisence. I want an R but need the road access for the trails. Great purchase and bike! Enjoy.
Remember what you would tell anyone beginning in RC when it comes to the bike: have fun, don't worry about being fast, work on technique and enjoy yourself. Find a beginner's clinic and learn riding position, form, etc. and work on that until it becomes second nature. Exercise, build strength, and you'll be tossing whips and scrubbing triples before you know it!
Thanks for the support man! I will definitely try my best!
Ryan...I have to say you put up the best RC videos. You’ve really helped me get into the sport and I greatly appreciate all the effort you put into growing the sport. Good luck with the bike as well. You will come to find it’s equally addicting! 😎
Lessgo!!! I ride moto too and that’s definitely a good first bike!
yeah good for first time on track glad he didn't try to jump
great purchase on the CRF250! I just picked up a 18 RMZ 450. Glad to see another RC/moto enthusiast. Just be glad you're riding haha, I'm up in Maryland waiting for the weather to get better before we can get on the track.
You did very good for first time on that bike, just remember it can go as fast or slow as you want it to go. 👍
Down with stock!
You got small air. Way better than I would be I would think. Giving squids confidence
For not riding you did very well.
I don’t even RC. But find your videos fun to watch. Great looking dirt bike. My wife got me a KTM 450 Factory Edition for Christmas. Pick it up Friday 🤘🏼
Keep up the great videos and RC racing!
Right on man!
@Ryan Harris sick to see you still useing the ocrc setup board
Even though I just mess around with modified vintage Tamiyas, I always love the peek in to the high end/racing stuff you give me. Love it dude.
Raced for the first time tonight at HobbyAction in Chandler, AZ. Took a lot advice from your videos. Broke in the main but learned a lot and set my fastest lap time there so far. So it was a win in my book. New to the sport actually coming from Motocross background. Like someone else said there is something about motocross that is hard to find anywhere else. The best advice I ever got is just like riding a horse you hold onto a dirt bike with your legs not your arms.
Great to meet you dude! Thank you for the hospitality
Same to you man!
The music is dope!! Great vid broski!!
Slow is fast! ...... Nice video..... Glad she worked on the groove and understanding the racing line..... She did great.... Next, work on the jumps, entering and exit.... Driving lesson is essential and it eliminates bad habits... Good luck😎😊
Makes me happy to see young Alex racing with you in Florida. The Coffaro's are missed in Oregon but glad to see them ripping with you!
Omggggg I’m so hyped to see you on a bike i can’t wait to see more riding videos. I race professionally in Canada and go down south to ride all the time maybe I’ll see ya out there one day
Sick! If you come down, I'll be the back marker hogging the line I'm sure lol
@@RyanHarrisRC lol it’s all good, it would just be cool to ride with you
First gen lightening, nice truck ! What year and is it stock? Cus you can go mod with it
1994 and she's mostly stock. Mild exhaust and thats it!
Nice F150 Lightning!
Heyyy someone remembered his TH-cam password
Personally, I love the 7.5 turn in the mod 2w. For me, it had a good balance between torque and speed which made it super easy to drive.
Run a 7.0 it’s smoother then the 7.5
Love that youre mixing other fun stuff into the RC racing videos. Keep it up!
If you ask me, 2WD modified, particularly Stadium Truck or SCT rather than buggy since both have design elements that improve stability over buggies, with a "mild modified" setup (9.5t to 10.5t) is _THE_ best place to start racing. While you do have more power than stock, it's not stupid amounts, and the additional power over stock means you end up not having to dump huge amounts of money into your car to be competitive. And if you do find yourself hitting the limits of your current amount of power, you can just bump up to a more powerful motor and still have spent less than you would in stock.
Atta boy Ryan! Good on you to pursue your dreams. It’s never too late to start. Elbows up! Be safe, and have fun!
Awesome intro clip/segment, be safe on that bike, and good for u to stop when u felt tired and that riding more while tired might he unsafe.... probably a workout for some muscles youndont always use...
6.5t is a LOT for a 2wd , but some of the fast NW guys run that kind of power for outdoor dirt....which is definitely not high traction... a lot seem to run 8.5 or close to that ... 6.5 is pretty common in 4wd here though...and we only have open/modified, there isn't any spec racing really for outdoors...
I really enjoy your channel but absolutely love the lightning
Awesome editing as always and great camera work!
I see you getting your Gronk on. Go Bucs!
Cool video. Keep em coming. Way to have some restraint and not yell at the marshal with his back to your car.
Good job have fun stay at it. You’ll catch on faster than you think
The track looks really sticky! The car's were sticking to it pretty good! Good run!
Aye, this video popped into my recommended at an interesting time. I was big into dirt bikes a few years ago, it was literally everything I did. Now recently that has become RC, and just today I decided to sell my dirt bike (a KTM by the way) to finance building a race buggy lol. Seeing the guy behind the main RC channel I’ve been watching also on a dirt bike, it’s funny how exact opposite that is from my current situation.
I hope to be back on a dirt bike some day. Having a kid and being unable to be injured definitely puts a damper on the motor sports, that’s for sure. RC, well it’s hard to get injured with RC :)
that truck. so sick
Awesome to see you get into moto dude! When I first got back into rc I really enjoyed your videos. The knowledge and production quality are both super high, especially for the size of your channel. Excited to see you progress on 2's 🤙
That truck is beyond on point!
You gotta do a little walk around of the Ford Lightening, looks very clean 👍🏽
Nevermind those motorcycles, YOU WERE AT EAST BAY RACEWAY PARK!!!! I hope you caught some Lucas Oil Late Model action!!!!
Dude! Sick ford lightning!!!
Ryan, what are the (dis)advantages of having a 6.5t and dialing it down, to a 10.5t and keeping it at 100%? Is there any efficiency benefit?
Personally there’s so much more to dial in with a 6.5, compared to 10.5, but having a 6.5 is awesome because you always will have enough power. Yes you can keep at 100% with a 10.5 but you just become a much more polished racer with a 6.5. The art of learning how to excel in throttle control and braking goes such a long way. It will also prepare you so much more moving up to 1/8th scale and learning to be consistent with a bigger motor. Overall at first 6.5 can be hard, it improves you’re driving capability so much more!
That paint job is 🤩
Dude your videos are awesome. Also I have a 2006 CRF250r with the dual exhaust and I love it!
Only found ryan 2 months ago. Now just hang out for his next vid. Along with adam riemann 1 from australia. Best dirt bike videos on utube. Especially the protege series. Check him out Mr Styles.
That doesn't look like a high bite surface at least from the footage so I don't see how y'all have 2WDs hooked up like that, lol. Love that layout though!
Newby (to 1/10) - when racing in the Mod class 2wd/4wd is it just using a more powerful motor or can you select any esc that you want? Or does the esc have to remained stock-spec?
Any 540 sized brushless motor is allowed and you can use any of the 1/10 ESCs out there
Excited to follow your mx journey. Just send'er bud. :P
Will there be a video on modding the F-150 Lightning?
nice job that track looks good
Hell yea I’m glad you ride now using your rc cars and riding is a great combo I’ve broken a couple bones while I’ve been riding but it’s a blast
I run 10.5 in the buggy and 9.0 in the truck and it feels quite nice.
Good to see you running mod. 👌🏻👍🏻
Motocross is also a great hobby to learn. Also great for fitness
Good content Ryan, the race coverage is
Good
wait what? I'm gonna have to watch this right now so i can find out.
Where did you get that truck?
That truck is bad ass Ryan!
I have watched most of your videos and love the content. I have been noticing the Marshalls can make a difference in a race. If you notice a corner is unattended or has a slow Marshall, would drive that corner a little more conservatively?
7.5-8.5T is a good sweet spot...
What servo do you run in your tlr right xe e buggy? Videos are awesome!! Thanks
just SOOO much Awwws for 2:40 ! cute :)
Well done Ryan !
were is the woop section?
Love the f150 lighting
Hi Ryan, i enjoy watching your videos. May i ask lower turn brushless motors are they more powerful? do they have more punch and top end? Are the .5 turn mod motors more aggressive in power delivery? So for example would a 6.5 turn mod motor be more aggressive than a 6 turn? Thank you for help. 👍
Be careful , Lots of RC racers are ex Moto heads that got hurt. I have many issues from racing MX back in the day but everyone must try it... I get it
Dude love your truck (The 1:1 scale one lolol)
I think i would break my cars just thinking about racing mod. Good on you sir.
Try a 10.5 or 9.5 first it is always easier to start slow and work your way up.
Didn't know you had an old school Lightning... Very Cool, Ryan!! I'll trade ya my "Hotbodies Lightning" buggy for it... LOL
How bout them bucs baby!
You should do a video on the charger like how to set up properly
Sweet truck.
Nice first gen lightning
Sweet Truck!
Great racing!!!!
Nice truck!
A dirt bike in the back of a lightning I'm jelly 😂
Any chance you'll be doing some more 1/8th racing in the future? Getting into 1/8th e-buggy and it's always cool to watch something I can relate to.
Love your truck..
Let's talk about that Ford⚡🤯
I like the helmet hair!!🙂
Wait am I missing something. What is moto? We here in 'Merica call it dirtbikes. Hey buddy good on you getting a dirtbike it rad and be safe. But I would find a field or some where not as busy so you can focus on just riding and not worry about others around you.
Thank you sir for the great videos you make. I have been in to R/C since the 80s but I have never had a chance to race I'm looking into getting my first real racing one soon the closest one I have now is a sc10 I got a few years ago but I haven't ever had it on a track just bashed it. But I'm not sure if I should go with a 22 5.0 or a b6.2 the track I would like to start going to is carpet track any suggestions on witch one would be easiest to build for that.
Nice bike!!!
Everyone else: 15:32
No one, literally no one but me: 15:35 😂😂
Awsome job bro keep up the great job love all ya vids I'll be watching jake from state farm Nebraska usa rc car guru
@Ryan harris try a 17 tooth pinion and a 82 tooth spur.
Nice Track !!
nice competition
I never raced on an actual track but ive always been an rc guy my whole life. mostly two wheel off road and 4wd onroad. My wife got me the 1/8 acale rc8.2e 4wd obviously and thats all I care about now lol. I want to mod it but I also want to go ona track but I have to be stock to race. Soooo Ill keep that like that and buy an arma but IDK if ill go for the infraction or the kraton. I love the new felon Id sooo do that but Im not happy about the gear ratio being different from the front to the back bcs the rear tires are a larger diameter and its 4wd so you cant change the wheels or upgrade bcs the rear gear ratio is different and their stock tires are so soft they burn out and go bald after like 5 runs.
Race mod you are too good for stock😂😂
Wait, an RC racer who has never raced a dirtbike? I didn't think that existed!
Can you do a on road race. 1/10 touring car
Il teach you how to send it. You teach me how not to while buggy racing lol . Great stuff
what was that clown show at the end of 4w race?
Ryan your a class act, very cool under pressure! I’m liking your Gronk jersey I also have one except it says PATRIOTS lol 😂 all good tho.
That lightning tho......
