Pan-Pot - Time Warp 2019 - ARTE Concert

Meisterhaft stellt das Berliner Duo Pan-Pot Konventionen auf den Kopf, wirft jede Funktionalität über Bord und erkundet die tiefen, unerforschten Abgründe pechschwarzer Techno.
Seit den Anfängen 2005 hat sich Pan-Pot zu einer wichtigen Größe der modernen Technomusik entwickelt - ein Erfolg, der sich im Aufstieg ihres Labels Mobilee Records in die erste Liga der Elektro-Vertreiber widerspiegelt. Das Duo, das sich selbst als „dunkle Seite der Macht“ bezeichnet, hypnotisiert die Sinne, verdreht die Wahrnehmung und belebt den Dancefloor mit einem wirklich berauschenden, unkonventionellen Sound. Subtile Pitch-Modulationen treffen auf verzerrte Klangwälle, dunkles Stampfen im 4/4-Takt wird durch komplexes Sounddesign entschärft, und ein minimalistisches Rahmenwerk kollidiert mit pulsierenden Basslines, epischen Ausführungen und düsteren, schrägen Melodien. Pan-Pot mag sich bei der Namensgebung an einem banalen Stück Studioausrüstung inspiriert haben. Ihre Musik jedoch erfindet Formen und Funktionen in einer eigenen, eigenwilligen Sprache neu. Wer einmal die monumentalen und packenden Klanglandschaften von Pan-Pot erlebt hat, vergisst sie nie wieder.

Avec le duo Pan-Pot, place à une proposition musicale totalement différente, portée par deux artistes qui, fort d’une maîtrise totale des principes sonores, renversent les conventions, mettent de côté la fonctionnalité et arpentent les profondeurs inexplorées de la techno la plus sombre.
Depuis sa création en 2005, Pan-Pot s’est imposé comme une force majeur de la techno moderne, ascension qui se reflète également dans celle de son label maison, mobilee, lequel compte désormais parmi l’élite de l’électro. Se qualifiant volontiers de « côté obscur de la force », Pan-Pot met les cerveaux en ébullition et déforme les perceptions pour finalement revigorer les dancefloors avec un son enivrant qui sort des sentiers battus. Dans ses sets, les subtiles manipulations de hauteur s'opposent à la distorsion de type mur du son, tandis que le sombre martèlement du 4/4 est adouci par des textures sonores imbriquées et que des enveloppes minimalistes affrontent des lignes de basse lancinantes, des constructions épiques et des mélodies sombres et décalées.Si Pan-Pot a tiré son nom d'un élément qui n’a rien d'exceptionnel, avec sa musique, le duo n’en redéfinit pas moins les notions de forme et de fonction à travers son propre langage idiosyncratique. Une fois qu’on a fait l'expérience des paysages sonores colossaux et obsédants de Pan-Pot, impossible de les oublier.

Cannot get enough of SRVD's “The Yard Man” at 21:34 - effing fantastic tune! Not been to Timewarp in waaaaaay too many years now, about 10, IIRC. Really, really miss it! Festivals on the continent generally putting ours in the UK to shame, so much better organised and less faffing around, straight in and onto the dancefloor. The way it SHOULD be here, I've never understood this British (almost, LOL) need to queue! Something else to complain about, aside from the weather! Back to the tunes, though ... awesomeness!

that is the plague of this new ravers. Recording instead of dancing all night and letting yourself go to the music. They cant even predict when there is a shift in the set so they can dance originaly so they all just have one hand in the air and in the other hand the phone. Damn shame.
