So, Senator Aberibe of Abia thinks it is right to abolish law that makes land to be in charge of state. Aberibe's bill must NOT stand. Every land must continue to belong to state and not to federal government. If the FG owned land, Buhari would given Fulani RUGA in all the 36 states. What is Aberibe's motive?

I understand what he means. He wants people to have access to buy land because even if these fulanis wanted to buy, the state governor may not grant consent for certificate of occupancy.
Still I don't want Federal Government to have vested absolute rights to lands in Nigeria. It already has rights to our natural resources. That will be giving too much power to the Federal.
He is also against open grazing but wants open opportunities for people any where in Nigeria to buy land to do business.

@@cynthiajuwah5849 Okay. Thanks for your comment. I also support a law that fights against discrimination. We all should be able to buy land in any part of the country. As it stands, I don't know if there's even any discrimination because we are all buying lands in every part of the country. The issue is, herders want free land and food for their cows. I think Aberibe ought to have put his words differently. He's wrong to say that lands should not be in the hands of state governors. Once FG has absolute rights to our land, we are finished as a race. Buhari would have been able to achieve his ruga settlement project if lands were in the FG's hands.

@@yummybims2991 that I agree. That's why the senator said what he said though that buying lands could curb the clashes. However, I know like you know that the fulanis don't want to buy land and even if they get the lands to buy and settle, they will try to take over houses and livelihood, from the natives in that community by force eventually. It's a very sensitive matter. I think the anti open grazing bill should serve as a deterrent to stop these fulanis from destroying farms and killing farmers or any one committing crimes in the name of farmer- herders clashes.

(1). This, like other similar daily occuring destructive and spine- chilling act is a sorry-sight to behold.
(2). This is not how to either develop and grow this economic sector or to de-escalate the blood-letting tension between the pastoralists and the farmers/ host communities.
(3). The sustainable approach should be for the government to force the pastoralists ( using cane and carrot means simultaneously/ and or interchangeably) to build ranches in order to keep and feed their livestocks therein, and for the farmers to farm in peace and to supply the pastoralists with animal feeds( grasses in silage form) for cost/fees as obtainable in many countries.
(4). This will mitigate these bloody encounters on one- hand, and also assist in expanding the value-chain that is inherent in this sector.
(5). By so doing, the plants, crops and grasses in the farms will become things of commercial value to the farmers/landowners just as the livestocks are article of commerce to the pastoralists. Therefrom, a win-win situation will emerge to safe-guard the common-interest of all the players.
(6). To side-step this world-class approach in favour of the status quo will be a reinforcement of these blood-bathing situations.
*** Politicians and policy- makers should be put on notice.
{7). The idea of grazing tracks/lanes is ancient and days-gone. It will never assuage the concerns of these players( i.e. farmers and pastoralists). In synopsis, an all- encompassing approach that will be rooted in pure mercantilism will be a commonwealth for all.

A cow is a property and it should not infringe on another man's property unless consent is given.

Instead discussing on how to break up for us to go our separate ways knowing fully well that the country cannot stand as one, they are still talking about these fulani herdsmen and their cows as if they are the only problem facing the country.
