It's very much her decision, Cover actually wanted her to stay, but in the end she wanted to leave to go do her own thing. I regret not taking effort to meet up with her and my other friends. We had a class reunion at her funeral after 6 years from graduation. She had an entire album ready to go on debut day. So we have about a week more of this before she's released every song she made for it. The fact that she does most of the work herself streamlines the process a lot compared to the other members.

Though hololive is usually a place where everyone jokes around, plays video games, chats, and has a happy go lucky time, I think mori did an amazing job touching on the topic of life, its difficulties, and its value. I feel like the more a person over comes obstacles in life, the stronger they become mentally and can face the future with a more confident mind set. I've faced a lot of troubles with my friends and with myself and I'm pretty sure many of you other viewers have had similar things or even worse. I think this community is a great place to cope with hard times so I thank the people who contribute to this community. Life will go on as it should and troubles that people are facing at one time will eventually pass (sometimes naturally and sometimes you have to overcome it on your own). Either way, good luck to everyone and stay strong.
This may be a bit personal, but you’re actually right. I had a tough breakup months ago, but since then I’ve felt a lot more happier and now I’m able to “Live Again” with a much better mindset. Also stay strong, it may be tough now, but I know *you will* find a way to “Live Again”.
@Kazi I don't know you personally so obviously, I wouldn't know what problem you're going through but what makes you think you're weak? If you feel you're weak because you can't get through your problems, then that makes sense, feeling weak because of those things is common. But are you really as weak as you think you are? I think if the amount that you are working isn't enough to solve your problems, you take a different route or try harder. Even if you tried many different routes and didn't work, there are an infinite amount of other routes. Also, if working your best doesn't feel like it's making a difference then try even harder, give it your 110%.
No kidding, with all the trouble I have gone through recently, the thought of ending it acually cross my mind multiple times. If I didn't have an ego the size of Russia and a mindset of always being on the attack, I might as well give it a try.

I don't necessarily like every Mori song, but this one has a special place for me. While I consider Red the best in terms of lyrics, composition, etc, this one is still my personal favorite. I think it's a mix of the nostalgia of hearing this for the very first time (around when Calliope debuted) and the fact that she used to use it as her end song. I just really love it.
This song is gonna be even sadder in a few years when she graduates and goes back to her shinigami life. Wherever she goes in the future, she won't forget us and it's not the end of the story

This song speaks to living with Death and Death’s desire to be with us.
It starts with Death greeting us and urging that we “hit the road” before she needs to end our journey.
There are two sides to Death: “your Mori” and “the Reaper.” A side that accompanies us through life, giving it greater value after accepting it as our friend, and a side that brings the end of life, regardless of whether we ever called it such.
“Memento Mori” is a phrase about remembering death throughout life, and that’s the “One Wish” that Mori expresses here. Even if it doesn’t make a difference in “The End,” she wants us to see her in the fleeting, everyday moments.
We’re only alive for so long, so treasure those moments all the more. Kono shunkan ga takaramono. My treasure is this moment. These moments are the treasures known to Death, which we come to know through her. (Mortality’s what makes a life sweeter to taste)
Mori initially wonders if her desire for mutual appreciation is a means to save herself from the pain at “The End.” Whether our ability to value Death’s presence will bring relief from the pain of when “your Mori” [the old soul that lasts throughout life] becomes “The Reaper” [a momentary soul at the end of one’s time].
What’s more, Mori’s early concern with immortalizing herself through song, along with the world of worry Death can raise for the living, is soon left behind to better treasure the present; something momentary by nature, and always ending. That which cannot be immortalized.
By putting her feelings into the actual song, Mori approaches that wish, placing herself in the hearts and minds of those who hear it. Effectively walking by our side as we sing her song and live out its message. Something that we’re sure to repeat again and again.
As the song progresses, Mori reflects on what history has made Death out to be. Her dream of a place where everybody cherishes life is initially embarrassing to admit because it goes against “the Reaper mentality.” She understands human emotion as a hindrance to that role, but even so she can’t stop feeling how she does within her present role, and the truth of her heart can’t be silenced, continuing to come out as the song progresses and Mori further embraces her feelings.
She holds notes longer as we reach later into the song, singing the same words more wholeheartedly than before. After all, it was only a matter of time until we became best friends.
The chorus also moves from Mori being happy when we say “I’m glad I lived today” to herself saying “I’m glad I lived today.” The final alteration of these lyrics are also among the last notes of the song and cuts out the middle verse about Mori and the living person being forever. In the end, both Mori and those living by her fully embrace the momentary nature of their meetings and live with the hope of future meetings. “Mata kimi ni aitai” to ittara shiawase. She’s happy when we say “I want to meet again.”
From the moment Death greets us, it’s a slow goodbye. At the start of the song, “The End” follows it closely since it’s more on the mind and Mori continues to affirm that she isn’t sorry about that fact. Towards the end, this affirmation is dropped, “The End” no longer present, and the space now filled with the heartfelt singing of a beautiful moment. And instead of saying she wants to see us again sometime, Mori now assures us that we will.
Ultimately, Live Again is also about Mori’s relationship with her work and all of us. Every time a stream goes up, and she’s live again, we can be there with her to enjoy those moments and look forward to future ones. It’s a perfect outro piece in terms of tone and intent for her streams - especially when reminding us that she’s our Mori, and hopes we’ll remember her, before (Signing Off). After all, this song is a series of short meetings where both parties grow closer after every ending. If we can show consideration to Mori and treat her as a friend, we’ll be able to share more moments together and find life that much more beautiful for it.

For those who don't know, mori in Latin means "death", (you might know from the popular phrase in America "momento mori", "remember death"...I wouldn't know if it's a popular phrase anywhere but America, because I don't live anywhere else lol) and Calliope in Greek mythology is supposed to be the "chief" of the muses, who are Greek goddesses that rule over arts and science. Calliope is the muse of epic poetry, like her raps. :)
The muses are also very related and known for music, so that fits as well. I don't know if her name's written form in Japanese has anything interesting like that, but if you know please say so!
Mori is a fairly common Japanese family name that literally means "forest." The Mori were a very prominent and powerful samurai clan that controlled a lot of southern Japan during the Sengoku era. So, I don't think it has any meaning in Japanese that's directly death-related, but it's still a cool name with some great history behind it.

It's made even more clear that this is her intended reading because she closes out her streams by saying "I'm your Mori, and I hope you remember me." For me, this song makes me feel happy and sad at the same time, not cause i dont like it, its cause I just lost my girlfriend who is at the same time my best friend and only friend. It hurts but in a good way. A way that makes me feel emotions that i decided to bury after the trauma. Sorry for being depressive lol 😅

not exactly sure why, but this song makes me think about how much ive improved as a person compared to a few months ago. i was an asshole and suicidal. maybe its the implied talk of death in the song, but it always makes me happy and free of worries. it makes me feel proud of my accomplishments which isnt something i can say alot. really makes me think about myself and actually helps me whenever i feel down. so this is probably my favorite piece to come from her yet

I didn't really fully processed it when I heard from Kaichou herself that she'll be graduating. It took a minute to fully understand what she was saying. Now though, it's clear we'll be losing a legend by next month.

It's not the ending. Surely new stories would be made even if she graduates.
And there's still a few weeks left.
I have already said my goodbyes and come to terms with my emotions. So for now, I'll be supporting Kaichou as before and wait until the day we can give her a proper send off o7.
