"...life is too fast here and time is the main asset here..." is the smartest thing you said. If you don't attribute high value to the landlord's time you might be treated as rude and worthless. If you try to negociate rent you might be considered rude and worthless. I suggest you focus on being an interessting person to deal with and that means being punctual and decisive. Also keep in mind that tenant that pay the rent late or don't follow building rules are treated harshly by the canadian judicial system. Your signature on a contract means a lot to canadians and the judicial system enforces that enthousiastically for a very small fee. Keep your word and you'll succeed in Canada. If you don't care about formalities then you are vulnerable to various abuse or mere enforcement of the contract you signed.
