Loved watching this. You wok in a much wetter manner than I was comfortable with, but your results are fantastic. So nice to expand the possibilities of how to work with Distress Oxides.
Thanks for sharing -- playing with art supplies is so fun!! I have been spraying the distress oxides into a pallet pan and adding water sprays......then I dip book pages into the mix and let dry......stencils come to play next and well u know how it goes......TGT! xo
Yay! I’m so happy you are doing the mad scientist experiments! It’s very fun to see what happens and inspires me to go play with stencils and art supplies❣️
I love watching you experiment with art supplies! You get such amazing results. I can't wait to give this one a try myself! Thank you for sharing your time and expertise!
Distress oxides are wonderful but you only need water droplets, not flooding. Also drying between layers allows the effects to be seen rather than all mushing up together. I’d recommend people watch Tim Holtz demonstrate the process so you’ll be able to get good results easily. You really can end up with some beautiful pieces!
It's fun to watch, but you'll get way more "spots" on the tags if you let the ink dry more before lightly spraying with water. The ink reacts to the water when it's dry, not wet. Yours are fun, but you are using way too much "wet." Distress Oxides are so much fun to play with.

Yeh, I frequently get it too wet.

It sounds like you are having a blast, and I am so glad you shared.
I love how these came out!

Beautiful tags! I love how you used a sponge to add spray to stencils. Great technique! Looks so good. Thanks for sharing.
I have to say, at first I was thinking - yep, hot mess! But the results are so fantastic! I love your videos. ;-)
Wonderful creations!

Love your freedom for experimentation! So pretty ❤
Lovely mixes Mary Beth -- thanks for the reminder, I *never* use oxides with stencils but they're really cool!
Love the tags! Will you please share your source for the little sponge? I couldn’t find in your Amazon favorites list.
hello, happy to be a new subscriber
That was fun, beautiful tags!
Beautiful tags!
Love this. Of course I have a question. If you do this and then what to add to a collage will a fixative spray keep the color intact
What will you do with these tags? 😊

Thanks for the tip! I like to push the limit. Tim is one of my friends, so he’s pretty familiar with how I work.
