Yes!!! Kits are cute in my opinion, but they’re too expensive for what little content you get.
My feelings of what the prices should be is:

The wants and fears need tweaking imo. It would be nice to be able to dismiss wants that don't fit with what I want for my sims currently, rather than ignoring them and ending up with the 'fear of unfulfilled dreams' constantly.
yeah, i agree. my elder sim kept getting the want to have a child and it’s like… he’s gonna die in a few days, i’m not gonna adopt a kid only for them to be left alone :/ i was excited for the update but it’s been disappointing
Yeah... some wants are still pretty stupid. I don't know if it's because he's a music lover (even though the wants say its because of likes and dislikes), but I have one sim that just seems to want to listen to the speaker all the time. I don't even have one on my home lot-there's no room in his tiny apartment and I'm not buying one, mainly out of spite at this point! All my other sims also get those stupid speaker related wants whenever they're on a lot with a speaker. Annoying.

I refuse to buy the highschool pack or any other “pack” kit whatever else or even play until they fix the major bugs. How dare they push more stuff at us with a broken game that they won’t even acknowledge. .

I was able to get the doctor to t-pose in base game/get to work only. No other packs enabled. And that’s been a looooooooooooong standing issue.
@@MbeHappYMiam2 Yes because the T-pose challenge was a joke in the community, it was just a glitch with modelling not the doctor getting confused and starting a challenge. Hope this helped :)

Regarding the Dream Home Decorator bug ( 4:10 ) it would be nice if you and other Sims youtubers would occasionally check on older packs and see if they're still bugged. The Sims team really listens when you collectively criticise a pack's bugs. But when the bugs get forgotten or brushed over, they do nothing. Little glitches are fine but packs like DHD, Dine Out and Get To Work have game breaking bugs. Real people spent real money on faulty goods.

Thing is, these kits feel like they should be additions to pre-existing stuff packs (Kids room and perfect patio) much like they did with Spa day

Yup. It felt like a slap in the face when they announced the kits; _another_ penny-pinching breakdown of what used to be a good game/company. The expansion pack content and gameplay is _so_ watered down compared to previous generations of The Sims... _and they're charging more money!_ There are _just as many_ if not _more_ bugs than previous iterations and the only previous generation of game that launched anywhere near unplayable was The Sims 3 Island Paradise. With TS4 it feels like everything lately has been released buggy and even unplayable. In my opinion, that is _totally_ unacceptable for such a large budget/large income game 😡
* Sigh * It's happening so frequently now where I don't even get angry anymore; it's just a given that I'm going to be disappointed. I used to eagerly await each announcement of an upcoming expansion and I would go out and get the game the same day it was available in stores, but now I rarely even purchase a pack unless it's on sale and even then I hesitate because I don't want to support a company with such horrible business practices/customer service 😞 My time and money is worth _at least_ how much they _say_ they are spending on creating the content, but the "finished" product is more often than not (these days) a joke at best. They definitely need better communication between departments of The Sims 4 teams at the very least.

@@eloeden2056 literally all I said is that the clothing kit wouldn’t fit into the build pack. Do I think kits are overpriced and lots of leftovers from other packs? Yes. I just don’t think that those clothes would fit into that pack. I imagine based off the style of the kids clothing it might of been something they were considering adding into high school years but then they decided to make it more high school and teenage focus. I’m not gonna waste my money on the kit lol.
@@rachelcookie321 fair enough, yes they do look more adult-ish but they could have added a couple of more mature/neutral swatches to the furniture added to kids room to match the clothes kinda like they did with spa day when suddenly they added tons of new colors. when there is a will there is a way
I want them the tune the wants and fears that replaced whims. Literally every single time my sims go to work they come home with the "fear of dead end job", EVERY DAY. I dont even have time to fix them! I just cheat them away now. I especially hate it because it breaks immersion for story telling when my sim is level 10 in a career related to their aspiration and in my head it's their lifelong passion but then they're all "FeAr Of DeAdEnD JoB". I know I can turn it off, but I still want to have the wants shown. Can I just have old whims back?
oh yeah that fear is the worst! I wish they'd tune it so that maybe sims who are working at a job that's part of their aspiration wouldn't get it at all or at least way less than sims that have a job not related to their traits/aspiration.
It's so annoying! I always turn it off in the settings but sometimes it doesn't even work. My sims still gets fears even when I have turned it off trough settings..

I constantly get that one and "fear of unfulfilled dreams," they're so annoying. I like the other fears though, since they seem to come up more specific to that sim (one of my sims got a fear of death after extinguishing someone on fire, a jealous sim got fear of being cheated on once he was in a long-term relationship, a sim in the diver career got a fear of drowning so I made him quit the career to pursue something else; I liked those!). So I want to keep the fears but just tone down the dead-end job and unfulfilled dreams ones since they're EVERY DAY :/
After Wedding stories and High School being bugged SO BAD at release.... sims isn't getting any more money from me until they have a successful expansion launch... without major game play bugs. is ridiculus they are releasing a 30$ game without bugs! If another big company did this with a super established franchise they would be run out of business.
I hate how kits have replaced stuff packs - especially when the last stuff pack was so good and really promising!

yeah it's exactly the reason they replaced them. Too much passion for 10 dollars. Why bother coding the game to add interesting and complex features when you can just sell t shirts and get the same amount of profit ?
Me too. Now we know for sure that the sims team lied when they claimed that the development of kits would not effect the development of other packs.
They're no different to the endless store content from the Sims 3, which was ridiculously expensive.
I like some of the kits and I don't think they really are affecting overall development...Covid slowed a lot of things down and kits are quicker and easier to make
I hate how they're putting out half arsed kits all the time instead of just waiting a while and lumping them altogether for a much more reasonable price. Also, £10 for just a couple of digital assets? Thats WAY too expensive
Get us a “Superior Siding” kit, where it’s more siding, and make it a collab with Kayla so she stops using blue siding 😂
I've always felt that the best version of Kits would be a partnership with CC creators. It's a win win for everyone- they don't have to create the content and can focus on other things, CC creators can earn money for their work, everyone including console players can have access to CC quality content, and it creates a synergy between The Sims and the community that is desperately lacking. I hope they shift to primarily using Kits as a way to give CC creators some work. I literally just said this yesterday too lol.
That’s what Paradox do for Cities Skylines. They have big DLC like the sims’ expansion packs, and most everything else are “content creator packs” made by cc creators. The creators then get to do a showcase livestream and a series of tutorials on the developer’s socials to promote the pack to players. They also give modders early access to new DLC so they can update their mods before the pack goes on sale. That way the game doesn’t break while players wait for the mods to be updated. Their approach to including the modding community in their decision-making is something EA could learn from tbh

love this idea - especially cuz they sometimes rip off cc creators’ work in the kits . Ex: Those folding doors for the patio kit are identical to doors that Harry and Felixandre made for their Bafroom pack.

Honestly none of these bug fixes ACTUALLY address the major game breaking bugs I and many others are experiencing. So frustrating and disappointing.
Yeeeah, my sims still reset if they are trying to eat but hey at least we got some new scenarios :S
Honestly same. I haven't been playing cause my sims will just randomly get scared of the dark and nothing they do makes the moodlet go away. It's very annoying.

Since the update my game is lagging badly. My doctor Still T-Poses and the game also kicked me out and quit sims. I have yet to try out the Sims today and see if any thing has improved ? I play on console, every thing was working fairly well before the update. Except for the T-pose.
It doesn't appear they fixed the issues I've been having. I get no wants or fears, no whims at all, yet because my Sims aren't "fulfilling wants," the unfulfilled dream fear becomes a trait. I'm constantly getting a "scared of the dark" moodlet for one of my sims, since she was a child and is now a teen, even though she doesn't have that fear trait or, indeed, any fears at all, so she runs around panicked half the time. My child sims randomly go full-on nekkid when I do a Save, and I have to have them "change outfit" every time. Prom conflicts with Talent Showcase and won't happen. Sims are *constantly* asking my Sims to be "BFF," even though they already have one, and so everyone gets their feelings hurt and hold long-time grudges about it. Sims randomly walk INTO MY HOUSE and aggressively ask to be BFFs; this includes former employees like the Nanny and Maid! Seriously, this game if freakin' unplayable now. I've tried everything to fix the wants/fears problem, including re-install, but to no avail. My Sims go through life wanting...nothing. It sux. Yes, the wants/fears option was turned on. As an aside, they also need to add marriage as a story progression option.

I love how the patch notes have bugs I've never seen but none of the bugs that happen to me daily are on the list besides the phone one 💀 would love to get fixes to those bugs one day. I do love the idea of sims team working with simmers even though I really dislike kits
Fr, the most annoying one for me is that the Trendi thrift and sell feature doesn't work for me anymore 😭😭 literally in none of my saves, it does not work what the hell 😭😭😭😭
No seriously. This didn’t fix the fact that I can’t have Get Famous and High School Years installed at the same time or prom and graduation don’t work.
It also doesn’t fix the random time resets when I move between lots. These are bugs that directly affect my gameplay and the main gameplay itself. Why haven’t these been touched?
@@megnolia2 pretty sure someone mentioned this but they have multiple teams working on multiple different types of bugs. So the ones rn are from one team while one team is working on more challenging ones.

Neither should they have to - but wow do I wish we somehow had the option! Or any options - because it would seem EA has ZERO issues with leaving us with a game that is completely broken AND also wants to try to up sell us 2 more kits! It's beyond ridiculous at this point!! It's really killing all of my enthusiasm for this game tbh.
@@Rickety_Cricket Yeah I think we all need to do another boycott until they fix it to a playable level. No way do they deserve money when they release broken content. I was boycotting for a while before the skin tone update, and I know a pretty good number of other people were as well. I like to think it worked. It at least made them look bad to the press and pressured them that way.
I would much rather them sit down and fix all the major bugs rather than keep giving us things. Like dream home still had sooooo many bugs that need to be fixed. The game feels almost unplayable at this point and I just want a game that runs smoothly and as intended before new things

Pretty sure this latest patch was optics, some stuff (scenarios) is something the team was likely already working on, and the rest seems like they wanted it to look like "see, we fixed the game" before releasing the new kits
I know there have been BIG issues for most of the Sims players, but I'm not one of them. My Sims game has been working just fine after the previous big update they did around a month ago to fix the aging thing, tbh. I don't know why, just lucky I guess, or could it be that I don't have tons of mods installed, neither have I all expansions packs but I do have High School Years. Anyway, I really hope they throughout another patch update so people can finally play uninterruptedly.

Thank you! I was asking myself why she was laughing it off some sort. At the end of the day, Kayla and all the other big Simmers are part of the EA Creator Network, so of course they will end their little rants on kind of a positive note. "I don't like kits, BUT", "Kits are kind of unneccessary BUT" - Just NO! I paid so much money for this goddamn game and all the packs for what? I can't even play it since the launch of the Highschool Pack and I don't even own the pack. I'm disappointed in almost all the Simmers from the EA Creator Network and I consider to unsub all of them, not because I hate them. It's because they have so much influence over these things, but they just don't want to go in with their feedbacks!

@@hicranakdeniz it really is infuriating. the game changers have lost all their credibility with me, I don't watch for their opinions anymore, just the news. In their defense though, how can you get a company to care about their own product..? I mean at this point if people still preorder and buy the next ep or gp, they are fools. The only way to get them to change is to stop buying anything. I'm not too hopeful about that, people are just laughing along with her..!? Idk, something's gotta change.

@@LifewithZonnia The gigs were bugged, mainly the room addition ones. You were required to build a new room but you couldn’t build the room.
if that's how long it takes them to fix the bugs, that's how long they won't see another red cent from me. No more cash for broken games!
Roofs clipping into rooms that are lofts is something they've never fixed, and I don't think they ever will
I really think this patch didn't address any actual gameplay issues. There were some but not nearly as much as there should be.

I wanna know if sims will now go to the nearest sink next to them. I saw Simsie having this and her legacy gameplay and I have this to.
So for example, whenever my sim goes to the toilet upstairs, they use the sink all the way downstairs. It just cost so much time for no reason.
it's soo annoying. i don't think the sims register that it's going to a different floor, they just register how many grid tiles away from them it is, even if it's on a separate floor. so sometimes i just have to change the position of the sink and that fixes it...like 70% of the time lol but not always 😩 i just built a huge house and it has like 8 sinks so it's just madness over here

I don’t even have that bug but I still cancel the hand washing interaction every time, it’s always a waste of time they’re sims not like they’re going to get E. coli 😂
These fixes are sad. Half of them are related to scenarios, which a lot of us don’t play, and the rest were fixes for minuscule things. No fix for disappearing/floating vendors, no fix for stalling sims, no fix for constantly debugging, no fix for non functional game pack stuff (ie pumpkin carving), no fix for disappearing fish in tanks, no dine out fixes, no university fixes, no round wall fix….. The Sims is a dying game and we can thank EA for that. I’ll never give them another dollar.
It feels like they just fixed theses basic things so we would shut up when they released these new kits without actually making the game playable

While I LOVE the Sims and always appreciate more content. I would MUCH rather them take their time and create a smoothly running game. I know they want to make money and the best way is off of existing simmers, but we would all promote sims so much more if they focus on patches and fixing bugs rather than pushing more and more unfinished content in our faces. That simply pushes away your current audience rather than gaining any new audience.
I'm kinda sad that they fixed the whole doctor t-posing thing. It became such a meme that it was just part of the sims experience for me
It would great to see you and other popular simmers boycott reviewing new kits and packs until they address the major bugs and issues. These games are expensive for people who aren't having them gifted to them. You're profiting off of advertising and marketing this game for EA. Your audience follows you and is influenced by your soft criticisms of this game.
I've been holding off on buying High School Years until they fixed the major bugs and I was so happy when I saw they FINALLY fixed something... Turns out they barely fixed anything so I will go back to waiting to buy the pack later... :/

The plants reverting to just planted bug has been prevalent for years. I stopped gardening in Sims 4 when Eco Lifestyle came out because this bug made it such a miserable experience. I know the bug has not been addressed because I still plant money trees and it ALWAYS happens to those trees.
I just learned that you can turn on testing cheats and shift click on the plant to get it back to grown. It still happens every few days but it has helped me
@@amysnelgrove Nice! Thanks! I find testing cheats to be a godsend to fix all sorts of "issues" like for example the aforementioned t-pose and other niggles.
I had that one bug where my sims boyfriend kept asking her dad to be his boyfriend, and asking to be his best friend. It was kinda scary 😅

im normally more of a lurker than a commenter & i am relatively new to the sims community but i see how much of an influence you have, Simsie, with both the consumers & creators of The Sims & the consumers of this game NEED you (& other game changers) to speak up more in-depth about the criticisms of how EA & the sims team ignore the ACTUAL ISSUES with the game & instead “fix” random bugs that most ppl didn’t even know about…

Professional Simmers should stand in solidarity with the community to stop EA’s long train of abuses. Honestly it’s disappointing to see the people with influence and power not standing up for what is right. Collaborate with one another to make a list of demands and needs for the broken game (of which playing every day is your sole profession) and amplify our voices.
Aren’t there bigger issues in the world that can use amplified voices?

I had been playing the same save for 26 generations ( was just waiting on the achievement!!) and the high school pack and subsequent bugs broke the save. I was... upset. I really hope this actually fixes some of the bugs instead of creating more.
I also had many generations save I played for like a year but werewolwes and high-school updates before the packs broke my game and all my sims dissapeared

@@starstruck_sims high school years made all my saves unplayable. i could not progress in game as every time i entered cas or started up the save again it would ALWAYS go back in time. multiple people have had this issue too but no fix as of yet :(
The thing that bothered me with the phone out while walking bug was that my non teen sims (as a person without high school years) were going way slower to do things so I'd have my sim late af to their college classes when leaving my lot and being even later when I actually went to the college lot to get them there on time.
I didn’t think that teens overusing the phones was that bad… was kind of realistic HAHAHHAHA

the courtyard oasis one is really nice! lots of cool furniture, and the wall tiles are super nice for bathrooms or kitchens as well. fun plants! i don't like kits overall, but this one made me really happy
Ive had a weird bug today. My sim had twins and i made her have them at the hospital. When it came to naming them, i picked out there names (emmett and hollie),but when my sims got back to their home lot the baby names changed to Nehemiah and Lacie for some reason

i'm upset by this, honestly. they didn't fix the needs issue, or the groundhog day bug. it just feels like they aren't even trying to listen to the community at this point.

Every time I tell my boyfriend about the new packs being released, he always tells me that these are things they should already have in the game.
The only bug that's really been bothering me is the one that's preventing my sims from retiring!
I created an entire new household intending on having two retired grandparents from the beginning (for the story) but it wouldn't let me retire them! Then I maxed out the careers thinking that was the issue until I found out it was a bug.....now I have one elderly sim who's miserable in their job bc they got there without building any skills so they're struggling and they literally can't retire 💀
Edit: As of 9/5/22 this has been fixed! At least for me anyways.
Now it's just the fear and moodlet system that's bugged out 🤣

Lol i had the same issue, so I ended up killing them because they were ruining my storyline 🙃
I just make them quit. They won't get paid any more but at least they don't have to keep working right up until they die.

It is truly amazing how after about 8 years the sims team is starting to make pack collabs with cc creators, it’s such a highlight in the community for these creators

The autonomy for NPCs is garbage. My sim started flirting with his new neighbor and she asked him to be her boyfriend the same day and then proposed on their first date, if you reject them you get bad sentiments and it's super annoying. I had a gym trainer ask my sim to be bffs after one session. 🙄🤦
I’m honestly a bit hesitant to buy the high school pack just because I know it sometimes breaks stuff and I’ve been lucky enough to avoid major bug or lag problems so far...

I have the High School pack and I love the clothes and furniture it comes with but that’s really it. However, I’ve noticed that ever since I got it my game lags really bad and sometimes it takes an hour for the lag to actually stop.
Do not buy indeed. I wanted to update my game to use round walls and maybe take the pack too...but it will just break our games and saves. 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
I got the high school pack and I’m really happy with it. I haven’t experience any bugs yet. There’s lots of content and I feel like it was worth the money for me. I’ll probably be using all the items and the the ability to go to high school a lot.
Literally don’t buy it. I took away all my mods, started with a fresh brand new save and my game still doesn’t work. I can’t have Get Famous and High School Years installed at the same time. If I do prom and graduation don’t work.
They also haven’t fixed the bug where the time randomly resets between lots. So it’ll be Thursday at like 9pm on a club lot and I’ll travel home and it’s 8am on Tuesday. That shouldn’t happen at all.
does anyone else have the same bugs as me that haven’t been fixed? the needs bars are the wrong colours like hunger will be full but it’ll be yellow. and there’s like a 50 50 chance that when my sim wakes up they just teleport out of bed, leaving their bed looking like they’re still in it and their task queue empty

Even though I haven't been hit by the aging glitch (I always play aging off with normal lifespan), I'm still a bit annoyed that it's not fixed yet. But the other major glitches that have come recently annoy me even more that they aren't fixed.
I thought lilsimsie mentioned in one of her earlier videos about the aging glitch that it was fixed, or at least that some issues that contributed to it were fixed.
It's very irritating that aging glitch it only affected one of my saves and I thought is was fixed but it wasn't, thankfully I had just started the first generation, so I ended up deleting the save and was annoyed

My sims cannot retire! Idk what's going on. At least for writer and style influencer careers, my sims call to retire, talk on the phone for a while and then reset.
I live in NM and the desert kit means I can build houses that would fit in with houses in my neighborhood.
A major scenario pet peeve of mine is that if you want to play a scenario that requires a single adult/YA the scenario requires that you use a household without a pet.
Hope the prom thing fixes the other prompts/questions. Its a bit weird when my Sims boyfriend ask my Sim to marry him and the bug made him engaged to her child. That was kinda creepy D:

The pants aren't new, we've had them for a few years, and they came with the stylist career. I think it used to be an item you had to unlock to use.
Personally I think as sims 4 players we should definitely fight for cheaper packs. Maybe at least during Christmas or your birthday (the birthday one would probably have to be steam more than EA) we could get free packs and kits or just ones that are 90% off. I’m poor. I don’t like having to spend 40 dollars so I could get a new world and some extra build items and create a sims items and interactions. Also I don’t like paying 5 dollars for a couple a shirts. I really wish that EA was like how it was back in 2008 when they cared about the quality of games more than how much money they are making off it.
The style kits with clothing items are usually very niche. From what we can see the kids clothing actually looks neutral. Well, it'll be out in two days, we'll see. The folded doors look pretty nice too, hope they're animated and not just open all the time. The angled windows remind me of the eco lifestyle ones with details standing out, only that the glass is part of the addon.

I’ve been having a glitch where whoever I’m having my teenage sim try to date, will come to the house and ask out one of their family members. Now whenever I try and do flirty interactions another sim thinks their boyfriend/girlfriend is cheating on them. EA, my child sim should not have a fear of being cheated on!
It can’t be a coincidence that ever since the sims team started putting more focus onto the kits the packs have suffered and the game became a buggy mess.

Why are they distancing themselves from EA, they get paid by the company to make the game and still do a piss poor job on it. It’s embarrassing how people who have actual other jobs, who get paid less can make better content than any of the actual people who work for the damn company. They’ve given up and I don’t understand why. Everything they push out now is for money 🙄

So.....nah. I'm not giving EA any money until we have transparency, at minimum. I don't have major issues, but knowing a portion of the community has an unplayable game makes me beyond frustrated and I love this game, I want everyone who plays to love this game. As a businesses they should be concerned that people have spent $1000 in some cases to not have a playable game for a month....meanwhile some bugs have existed for years.
DLC and microtransactions have ruined games imo. I loved them at a time because they seemed like a good option to expand games while also catering to different parts of the fan base. But now games (Sims, Cities Skylines, Planet Zoo/Coaster to name a few) use them as a tool to leach every penny they came from the fans. The Sims 4 is the longest sims game to be out without any clue to when the next is coming, at this point I don't really even believe that they ARE working on the next game. Half of these kits and expansion packs could literally be game updates. What kind of life simulator doesn't give you pets automatically? Or weather?? We didn't even get toddlers or swimming pools when the game came out like? I would literally rather support cc creators at this point.
I really wish Sims would add a patch that allows us to have more realistic hair because nobody ever just has, for example, black hair. Even black hair is more dark brown with black, right? I myself look at first glance like I just have dark brown hair, but I actually have shades of brown, some black, some red, and some blonde, and all of that is natural because I am very mixed. Sims 3 provided hair customization color choices like we have with choosing what colors our cats and dogs markings should be, I would just like to see it incorporated in sims 4 for the people sims too.
I don’t want anymore kits or packs until they fix this ~$1000 game. And I’m not buying any of these new dlcs. It just feels like buying tires for a car that doesn’t work.
