I actually didn’t find the factory handguard to be too large. I actually appreciated the knurling, and got used to the size with some dry fire. To answer your question though, you’ll need to order or find someone with the JP barrel nut tool. I’d recommend having some sort of soft vise jaws that won’t mar up the finish, and a crows foot wrench and torque wrench for the Smoke barrel nut. Once you get the JP barrel nut off, the Smoke is super easy to install.

Was it easy to put that smoke composites hand guard on? I just ordered a jp5 and I already know the factory one is gonna be too fat
