I've always used a splitter vertically. This would all put completely solve the dust and debris issue. While I understand the design of being able to stand while splitting, why does anyone want to lift the logs up when they can just be "shimmied" into place in the vertical position? What are the benefits of the horizontal position that I'm missing?

No I have not....We have 2 of them in the family.....We have had problems with the clear hose down by the filter leaking. We were able to find a replacement hose that Lowes had in their hose/hardware section. Other than that , no downtime at all.

I have been running a 20 ton log splitter since 1992 and it has served me well. I didn't get an injury from it until about 6 weeks ago when my left ring finger got mashed between a block of wood and the back plate. Just a bruised fingernail which will heal. Now, after watching you split wood, I can tell you sooner or later you will get a finger or hand mashed or cut bad if you continue to allow your hands so close to that splitting wedge. I would think about it and review your practice. Hope nothing happens.

I bolted everything on , so if need be, 10 bolts and it's off.

Your saw is quite capable of paring apart those rounds. Your blade goes past center. If plunge cuts aren’t your cup of tea you can crosscut as far as possible then one good whack with a splitting axe or mall will let you segment the round into nice chunks for youto handle onto the splitter
By the way, great cycle time on that ram. Just a guess but I’m thinking that pump makes more than the usual 11 gpm on that size splitter. Do you know the specs on it?

can you share design details of the platform mods and any changes you might make if you built it again?

If we get some nice weather I'll do another video to show the table without the wood top on it.

busesdeerandsound100 Actually I just finished a table for my 22ton DHT. Simply measured up 4 inches from a 24inch piece of angle iron, cut out a 45 degree triangle from one side, bent it square and welded the piece where the bend meets. drilled 2 holes in the 4inch piece to bolt to the machine then welded a few cross pieces on top.
