I remember the prototype 757 being at Luton and it was like a futuristic rocket ship compared to the 1-11's, 737-200's parked close by. I spent many happy years despatching the 757's at Luton.
That had the original displays in back when I flew it. No speed tape, just the old ASI. Shame Boeing never built an NG version of it. Had an outstanding power to weight ratio.
Incredible aircraft! I traced its serial number and seems this flew with China Southern and even CAAC for a little bit. Incredible history and it’s sad she may be gone after this summer. Looks brand new! When this aircraft is gone, this will be incredible archive footage. Thank you for this great video!
I flew the 757 for ten years. It’s a pilots aircraft , an excess of power even fully derated. An ability to stop in runways as short as 1800m , due to more wheels at the back = more brakes ! It’s too thirsty now - we burnt iirc 3.5 T an hour which makes it uneconomic for pax , not so much for freight …the 739 was a bit of an embarrassing replacement , couldn’t quite manage the routes , hence why jet2 kept some . What replaces a 757 ? Another 757….
Beautiful aircraft!!!...and some great views from the window seat...Pilots greased the landing well one of them did not sure wether captain or co.pilot 👍thks for sharing!!
The 757 is one of the best looking twin jets IMO, That aircraft looking in mint condition for 35 years old, The landing was a greaser! 👍
That 757 and its sibling, the 767, were the peak of Boeing aircraft engineering. With a pair of RB211 it just doesn't come sweeter

Such a beautiful Girl we will miss YOU when you gone. Much love to JET2 757s, xxxxx
Can’t beat the sound of the RB211 and that landing was butter
Lovely video. My first ever plane ride was on an Air 2000 B757 from MAN to FAO in 1991. So to watch this holds dear memories for me.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love the sound of those rb211 motors

Probably become a freighter for the likes of UPS or fedex
Absolutely amazing 😁

Delta still flys over 100 757s.
Really a smooth landing.
My favourite aircraft 757 xxx

The 757 .. never took long to get airborne. Beautiful aircraft 👍
When Boeings standards were first class. 😊
The 757 and 767 have absolutely huge and spacious flight decks. Other more recent aircraft look a bit more cramped up front.
My landings are so smooth they put rubber back on the tyres! 😂
Looks you were sat in 8F which was my seat on Alpha India when she took me to Funchal on Monday morning
Pretty close😂 I was actually in 7F
What a coincidence that your pilot was your flight instructor
Nah of course I asked for his schedule before
Ah right that makes more sense
Plane is older than me !
Most of its sisters have been flown to St Athans and scrapped. Nice to see it still in use but unfortunately it must be on borrowed time.
I always end up sitting behind the wing and the one time I sit in front of the engine was in a 757, but there was no window next to my seat😭
Oh nooooooo🥹

Boeings are not meant to be greased onto the runway !
what was yr seat number? I am going to fly Jet2 757 soon and want to sit next to the RR engine. Thanks
7F
Is this plane still in service?
