    Based at Forest Way bunkhouse we explore a secret gorge and head up the Scottish classic, Stac Pollaidh. Footage includes the scramble to the true summit.

    Thanks to your superb video we managed to summit Stac Pollaidh today. It didn’t beat me this time.
    Currently staying at Forest Way Bunkhouse and we’ll certainly be back, a terrific base and Iain’s such a great guy.
    Planning my next trip up here already.

    Hey Robin loved that one. Scotland, Scotland, Scotland. What a place full of wild experiences and hey cool bunkhouses like your friends. Apart from the impressive gorges there was some nice scrambling there. Looked as risky as the bridge. Ha ha! You survived to wash it down with some delicious fish and chips mind you. Good going. Cool music to. All the best. Mark

      The bridge wasn't too bad to be honest, apart from the planks wobbling under your feet. Scramble not nearly as bad as I expected.

    What a stroke of luck…Next week we have booked to stay four nights in the Forest Way bunkhouse and was looking for a rest day mini adventure. Stac Pollaidh was on the cards as I was beaten by the bad step a number of years ago in wet slippy conditions. Your vid has killed two birds, I now know how lovely the bunkhouses will be and I have an easier descent route sorted.
    Cheers Robin.. top notch video as always.

    Been passed it before but never stopped but looks like I have been missing out, what a great area and them falls were stunning. The bunkhouse accommodation were just what you needed, nothing to fancy but enough home comforts and looked spotlessly clean, which we always appreciate. I can see why your bonny lass did not fancy the climb but good to see you doing it and it did look a real nice climb up and great view from the summit of Stac Pollaidh. I haven't climbed Stac Polly - it's definitely on my list! Maybe when I do I'll stay at the Forest Way - it looks great and there's so much to do in that area. We were planning to climb Cul Mor in March but the weather was atrocious - 65-75mph winds with lashing rain. Not unusual for that area. The weather gods smiled on you!

      @@derekmcmanus8615 hey mate, I don't think he owns it. I climbed An Teallach years ago with my mate while my wife did a stained glass course in Ullapool. Very different from Nancy Smiths place at Fersit I stayed many years ago. It was 50p in the main accommodation and less in the converted hen house. You often just left your money in an honesty box as she would be away in the Alps or the Himalayas.

    • @WalkWithWallace
      @WalkWithWallace  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I read about Nancy Smith's place in Peter Kemp's book. It sounded like it had lots of character. Shame a lot of these places don't exist anymore. Gerry's Bunkhouse perhaps (ran by his son).

    • @lentrim5444
      @lentrim5444 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Walk With Wallace 👣 Different era. You could arrive in bothies and find tinned food left by previous users. Also inch or two of whisky in bottle. Similarly Nancy had a cupboard with essentials in it like tinned stew and you just left the money although it might be months before Nancy returned from some trip. There was an old boy called Davie lived in a bus outside. Self sufficient characters who lived outside main stream society.
