This is very cool to look back on since I was a kid during TK DR and i was just mashing most of the time there, I agree with you that this is real tekken, just hand to hand combat
Tekken 5 DR is not only my fav Tekken game or fighting game. But one of my top 3 games of all time. If they released a remaster on PS5 I would play the hell out of that game.
Taken 5 dr was the realest. Then with 6 rage came, then tag rage. Years later Tekken revolution was a test vital for Tekken 7 mechanics and that turned it into a different game.
Dunno what martial Art movies u are watching, but ive never seen one, where a character Kicks the other and they start floating so that they cant get kicked and punched mid-air
Damn bro really an OG lee. How do you never got bored of the same character? You never Fw anyone else? I rotate characters every couple months or I get bored
I was around back then with " real " tekken. Sorry it's mad borning to watch. Everyone knows it was more pure back then because it didn't have all the flashy stuff or come back mechanics. Tekken still Tekken. It's just made easier so more people can play and to keep the games from dying like a lot of fighters have. That how it is with everything. Kinda like how virtua fighter stayed the same none of the extra. And its dead . We just have to deal 🤷
Not to glaze these two games anymore than necessary but; Its crazy in T5DR and T6 you can see people actively thinking and adjusting in terms of their offense and even defense compared to t7-t8. There wasnt as much opening up people randomly if their defense was solid and there was very little "just gotta hold that" moments as you can see in T8. The skill ceiling was just higher.
I think they need to remove or drastically reduce the amount of chip damage you can deal. Spam some plus on block mids and do a heat smash does basically a full combos worth of damage on block.
No lie this is real Tekken! To all you new players no offense! This is OG Tekken and why a lot of ppl don't like T8. Notice the emphasis on pokes and not these long high damage heat engaging/mechanic combos. Also there was a another technique called Chicken 🐥 which most modern players wouldn't understand or be capable or doing. More tech holding forward on stun would break the stun just so much more to the OG Tekken then this scrub fest of a game called T8
If you enjoy anything don't go online because online is where people come to complain. If Bandai made a game exactly like Tekken 5 these people will complain that it's nothing new, so you can never satisfy these types and that's why they will continue to get ignored and deserve it. I'm from street fighter and they bitch about the same things. TLDR "Old game good new game bad"
@@TheGaara802not really, a lot of people are passionate about Tekken and want the game to go in the right direction that strays away from homogenization. Didn’t realize how cool tekken 6 is till now. I didn’t really know what i was doing back then when I was playing these old games. Nice footages gm!
Finally. Someone said it.
This is very cool to look back on since I was a kid during TK DR and i was just mashing most of the time there, I agree with you that this is real tekken, just hand to hand combat
Damn older tekken games are super fire. I love the neutral and seeing these old school high level matches! 🔥
Such a joy to see tekken 5dr and tekken 6 gameplay man
unc was a demon in tekken 6 and 7 hopefully we see more of you in tekken 8
Look at t6 lee's sick costume. T6 had the best outfits and the best customization IMO - the characters never looked better.
Tekken 5 DR is not only my fav Tekken game or fighting game. But one of my top 3 games of all time. If they released a remaster on PS5 I would play the hell out of that game.
Tekken 3 through Tekken 5 DR were my favorite days of Tekken. Tekken 2 was also really fun before Tekken 3 just raised the bar significantly.
Taken 5 dr was the realest. Then with 6 rage came, then tag rage. Years later Tekken revolution was a test vital for Tekken 7 mechanics and that turned it into a different game.
Back when Tekken matches looked like a martial arts movie. Haha man What a time
Dunno what martial Art movies u are watching, but ive never seen one, where a character Kicks the other and they start floating so that they cant get kicked and punched mid-air
Yess my boy made the video
These days of Tekken will never return. I'm not complaining. I'm still trying to get used to the new meta.
damn i miss the competitive GM. shoutout to FilthieRich too. Great upload!
Best Lee in the world 💪
Thanks mukith
4Horsemen days....miss the ole days
Damn... This is the exact type of fighting game I want to play... Too bad there's none like this with many players
Definitely tekken 5 and dr was the peak tekken for me
Bro summoned 150 old heads in these comments
Damn bro really an OG lee. How do you never got bored of the same character? You never Fw anyone else? I rotate characters every couple months or I get bored
I was around back then with " real " tekken. Sorry it's mad borning to watch. Everyone knows it was more pure back then because it didn't have all the flashy stuff or come back mechanics. Tekken still Tekken. It's just made easier so more people can play and to keep the games from dying like a lot of fighters have. That how it is with everything. Kinda like how virtua fighter stayed the same none of the extra. And its dead . We just have to deal 🤷
i wish i was able or old enough to play Tekken during that era. Looks super fun. Im not having fun in T8
It was bro and there was a arcade scene so that made it even more fun
God I miss this Tekken.
Ariel never misses
Yep, Tekken is dead dawg.
Beautiful
I think they need to remove or drastically reduce the amount of chip damage you can deal. Spam some plus on block mids and do a heat smash does basically a full combos worth of damage on block.
Many things need to change for tekken 8 to become a better game
Omg the trading in teller 6 ☺️☺️☺️ I miss it so much
TEKKEN 6 MENTIONED ❤❤❤
No lie this is real Tekken! To all you new players no offense! This is OG Tekken and why a lot of ppl don't like T8. Notice the emphasis on pokes and not these long high damage heat engaging/mechanic combos. Also there was a another technique called Chicken 🐥 which most modern players wouldn't understand or be capable or doing. More tech holding forward on stun would break the stun just so much more to the OG Tekken then this scrub fest of a game called T8
real
Personally i think rage art nd rage drive aint a problem but instead of heat or rage art id prefer rage drive as a comeback mechanic
I miss the time when Anna can kill you with 1 aerial combo. Ahhh good ol days
why tekken players complain more than any other fighting game some peoples fave franchises don’t even exist anymore so be happy yall have a game
If you had any understanding for Tekken and just fighting games in general you’d understand that Tekken 8 is not a well designed fighting game and in fact regressed from its predecessors
He can't appreciate the old stuff? How come all you 8ers hate the series so much? Feel like most of you never tried or been good at Tekken until Guessen 8.
@ i respect the older games but old heads try to discredit us so much in even younger than a 08er i would’ve been 9 back then, like it’s not my fault they made fgs easier. definitely would put the work in on older games if i could. all respect tho negativity just sucks
Some people of you just live permanently in the past. Nostalgia can be a bad thing. Adapt and enjoy T8. Its a very good game.
It'll be even better without bounds and scrubby Rage mechanic
Man, bring back magic 4s lol. anything to stop annoying pressure.
I like how you didn't even need to watch any Koreans, just watching your own good stuff
Word bro i played for so long I can show u guys the good stuff
Tag 2 is real Tekken, just solo lol. There was no way Tag 2 was built to be real shit, But playing solo exposed a ton of dudes back then
Shit I’ll take tag 2 over 8 easy.
This was a good video too bad I want able to try the old tekken games
Im taking a shot everytime the word "Tekken" is said
Tag 2 was pretty cool. But tournament sets can easily go 30 mins+ and made it hard to watch.
what if tekken 8 released first?
Screw all you. Tekken 8 is real ham Tekken. Man up. Get Ready For The Next Battle.
Who are you trying to convince?😂
The players who got exposed in the older games. @@wakeupsweep8278
Yall just sound old. The game was always fonna change, and the OGs would either have to adjust or step off. Looks like alot of them have made their decisions.
