The fact that this Honda Civic-based van not only has 3 rows of seats, but has enough room for a Zach Pradel-sized dude to sit comfortably in the third row AND still have decent luggage space, tells you exactly why I prefer vans to crossovers.
Stepwgn owner here!!! That all Japanese button takes the front vent temp and merges it into the rear ventilation when pressed. So if you have A/C on - the back will be cold, or if the front is heat, the back will be heat as well.
I have a 96 STEPWGN as a daily. Some cool things that weren't mentioned - The headrests can be removed from the middle and rear seats, and then they can all fold down flat to form a decent sized bed. This is called "Sleep Mode". The middle main seat can rotate to the 90 or 180 degree position. Fully rotated is called "Friend mode". There is the middle row table/seat on the end, but there is also an optional table that folds down from the wall to make a picnic table situation; this is called "Food Mode". Naturally. The top/rear vent does have an AC evaporator, and blow cold air (legit dual zone climate control in 1996). The button that was not identified translates to something like 'Priority Rear Heat', or similar. It doesn't seem to do anything but i'll play with it again this winter. The mirrors have motors and can be folded in/out with a button push. My example has the dual sunroof option, with a larger window in the rear, which both fully open. There is a camper version of the STEPWGN which uses the rear sunroof as an entry hatch to the roof mounted popup tent. And of course that model has a bunch of additional crazy stuff like an additional battery, retractable awning, sink/stove/countertop, and a 'shower' 🙂 I've had it for almost 2 years and it's been a great daily driver and kid hauler.
I'm glad you mentioned the rotating seats in the second row. I love that, that's why I'm looking to buy one.
4:18 後席優先ヒーター means "Rear Seat Priority Heater". I don't think the vehicle has heated seats. It's probably for the AC vents.
後席 - rear seat
優先 - priority
ヒーター - heater
So it's have rear seats via vents
Maybe rear window defrost?
@@Kevin-xs3er wouldn't have those rectangles with a wavy lines
So letting the rear seat has more heat than the driver's seat. Very asian.
It circulates the engine coolant to a heat exchanger on the rear of the car, so that heated air reaches the back seat too.
My son's 98 CR-V has the window switches on the dash too. And I think the recirc button car profile is actually spot on.
there's nothing cooler than a minivan built on a compact car chassis. i just love it.
I wish that we got the stepwgn here in the states as the first gen odyssey.
Probably the coolest van I’ve ever seen
Wait till you find out about the Lexus LM and Toyota Alphard.
That interior is a blast from the past. Wow.
What are you doing stepwgn!
Nani?
The Oasis was based on the Odyssey, which was in turn based on the Accord. It was a Honda through and through.
What are you doing step wagon?!😩😳
😂😂😂💀💀
I totally dig this thing. Hopefully when I can afford an import something like this is probably what I'd get
Looks like a King-Size first gen xB
I think I kinda love the looks of that!
i would love to own one of these ngl
Get a RG gen. Better all round plus kseries is always a win
Great video!
The Isuzu Oasis is actually based on a Honda platform.
Looks like what I imagine a Mazda 5 and a Nissan NV getting it on would produce
So cool!
It has crv headlights and taillights
The recirc button is Spot on, the crv even has a regular car, clearly you never drove a first gen crv which also had the window switches there. The second half of the first gen crv has a B20 with 146 HP just a little peppier. You should definitely drive one of those soon. Also google translate will easily translate that button for you if you just use your camera put it up to it. Easily translates anything you’ve been doing this a while I thought you would’ve gotten that far without us helping lol
I'd drive this even though it looks like a minivan. It looks fun even though it's just a Civic van.
I can't believe you didn't go over all the seat configurations. You can make a damn bed back there
Only if we had these it looks awesome
Button left of dash might activate and deactivate the cruise control, looks like my old 98 accord
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 video
I would much rather have the step wagon then the first gen crv lol
The cold open on this though.
Евляюсь обладателем stepvgn RF-1 , 2001 года, отличная машина для работы и отдыха, очень доволен данным аппаратом 👍
4:18 It translates to Rear Seat Heating
Interesting
It's actually "rear seat priority heater". It most likely sends heated air towards the back first.
Like a 90s element
I looked it up on Google Translate and it says rear seat priority heater
So cool.
Wait, the isuzu was first?
I think the button says: Back seat priority 4:12
Its not of course, the Older JDM Civics could come with AWD.
that button with all the Japanese writing is actually for your rear climate control power
single digit like gang tho...damn was I early xD
Its crv based not civic based the civic was a majority d series single cam car the onlt civic to get a b series was the si and it was a b16 with vtec not a non vtec b20. No civic came with a non vtec b series. The engine in the step wagon is the same as the crv engines and as you mentioned the drivetrain is too.
Have you been to the Alligator Farm?
Not even close, lad. It has the Honda CRV engine. Just like the Honda S-MX. Both are "love mobiles".
@4:49 How on earth could you fold back all the seats into a bed with a center console?
I wanna see a review from you about the GTI MK7.5
What are you doing, stepwgn?
"Its based off the Civic" - No, no it's not. Lol.
It's related to the first generation CR-V, which was based on the 6th generation Civic, so he's not wrong.
Except it’s not. The stepwgn/smx is kinda its own thing. It has more in common components with an odyssey than CRV or civic.
These don't hold up In' a Crash😮😮and the timing rubber belt👎
Get a rg gen steppy then. K series uses a timing chain and muuuuuuch safer. Plus. 120mph in a minivan is lit
