Actually, the point of his trip was to find a route around the Islamic Empire which was controlling the usual route to Asia. The normal route was through the Silk Road in the middle east but after Constantinople was taken, that wasn't an option.

What you're seeing is the hit box of impact, and the bodily reaction it (attempts) to have, but is unable to change states from npc hitbox to object hitbox due to being unable to find your character, who is in a debug noclip mode where the game does not render certain aspects or cannot find them, they stretch wildly on reacts that would send an Npc flying, the skin being removed is just what would happen usually but it would spread out and impact, but is unable due to the render errors that keep everything still until you stand down. (That's the best I can describe the phenomena)
Steven Bills It's a bug in the game you're not meant to see, every time something switches it's hitbox, the textures wrap tightly for a millisecond before changing to the proper size, noclip means they can't do that change nor can they move once turned. Thanks
this may be a 1 year old comment, but i always thought that since 'tcl' turns collision off, it basically means turning the havok physics off, which makes not only npcs freeze on death since it turns them into a ragdoll, a physics object, but a killing blow on an npc applies force so that it reacts appropriately on the ragdoll, like when you smack someone with a sledgehammer and their ragdoll goes flying, but since the physics are turned off the applied 'force' just teleports the body parts a certain distance while still being frozen resulting in them stretching, i assumed this since i don't believe anything is affected by physics with TCL on, like how you see a trail of floating ejected bullet cartridges when someone is firing a gun with TCL on. i don't think it's a debug state for your character which results in bugs but rather a toggle of the entire game physics

I'm not trying to sound like a smart ass but you can hit up on the arrow keys to get back to whatever console command you want. If you've just done the east Pete thing and closed console commands and opened it again, all you have to do is press the up arrow key to get back to your last command
