There is no game on the Neo I want to love more, but the AI just brutally and unfairly punishes you every time, even on level 1. I'm amazed at this player's level of skill to overcome it.
True, the A.I. is out of control, even by arcade fighting game standards. I don't know why SNK cranked it up that high, as it does make the game somewhat less enjoyable (Not to mention that the other games in the series & other SNK arcade games at the time were, while easier than AoF2, still challenging enough) In fact, the only version of the game that doesn't have crazy A.I. is the Japan-only Super Famicom port, but that's offset by smaller sprites & reduced graphic & sound quality.
Yuri for me is one of those characters who outdid herself, erasing that damsel in distress image from the first game and gaining prominence as a fighter in the sequels, in addition to becoming one of the founders of the women's team in KOF.
I remember seeing her AOF 1 in the arcades, as a kid I felt bad for her and saw her as a very helpless woman. I was shocked when I found out that she's actually one of the characters in kof, I felt proud for some reason LOL
@@Tubewings I think it started after Art of Fighting 2. In the first game, she actually looks the part of a 90s college student or older high schooler. In the second game, she looks like a typical high school girl. After that, she releases regressed to like a 9 year old lol!

Fatal Fury takes place in the early 90's while Art of fighting takes place at the end of the 70's. All the characters in AOF are much older than those in FF. For example Ryo and Robert were born in the mid 50's while the Bogard brothers were born in the early 70's. Kof series doesn't respect the official timeline unlike FF and AOF series. Besides in Wild Ambition we see an old Ryo named Mr Karate and Garô MOTW includes Marco Rodriguez, Ryo's studen and who seems older than him in his KOF version.
a lot of snk vs capcom beef spawned AOF, but the main reason was to re-insert Geese into the newer games. KOF freezes the stories after AOF2 and Fatal Fury
