Well ya sure made it hard to do! something that would have saved ya time, would have been to 1) connect two wires to the switch itself ( different colors if you wanted-but it makes no difference as you are just interrupting a circuit, just make sure that they are longer than you will need). 2) Then remove the plate that's blocks the hole, 3) slide the wires and switch into place ( you could leave it unsnapped till done- but not necessary) 4) snip the correct wire ( based on your test) 5) connect your wires to the cut wires and secure with electrical tape and/or nylon ties 6) test and done. No reason to pull the wheel and "stuff"!

If I did it that way, it would have looked sloppy and half assed. The way I did it, makes it look like it belongs there.

Just received my craftsman T210 and noticed that the headlights are on, all the time. I can't believe that the T210 did not come with a on/off switch for the headlights. Looking at this video it is a JOB for the home owner to install the rocker switch to turn off or on the headlight. For now I will remove the headlight bulbs, since I have no intention of mowing my lawn at night. For the price that this T210 cost Craftsman should have the headlights on/off switch installed by the manufacturer.

The video is sorta confusing. Where did you get positive feedback? If you only cut the ground? Did I miss something.

Wow that was a good disassemble video if I needed to replace my tank and realign my steering wheel but a simple way to just add a kill switch for the lights would be just pop out the insert connect the wires to the kill switch and make them long enough to connect them at the bundle of wires once you fish them though the insert but don’t forget to sleeve the wire with plastic flex hose and tape the tap end wires with electrical tape there you’re done ……15 min job. but I would do it your way if I,needed to just blow time or get away from the wife for a couple of hours .

I've got a similar mower, but branded differently. How do the headlights work from the factory?

They're ok. LED is brighter, and take less power to use.

I have a craftsman T240. I wanted to do this same thing to mine. Was a little confused on the wiring of it. What gauge wire did you use? And did you just cut that green wire and connect your new wire to both ends of the green wire and run it back up to the toggle switch?

I don't remember the exact size of the wire, but I just ran the wire to be connected by the switch.
