Another great podcast I started going to watch stock cars 1969, Dad done some bangers, he built me a super stox when I was 16 I raced for 3 years until I got fenced at Arlington braking the fence post in half which hurt my back, I built a rookie rod and was a mechanic about the same time pappa Fred, he got to superstar, Happy Christmas to you and family.
Think the drover rep thing os a really valid point and great idea. All formulas need a voice its not to jump up and down moaning but just to bring drivers ideas/suggestions etc together as i honestly believe the vast majority in this sport all want to make things better/get more car numbers etc etc
It Definitely needs to happen again, all of the drivers today was talking about it needing to happen to move the formula forward and keep pushing to promote it
Great show fellas! Listening to you brings back some good memories & story’s from my racing days 80’s 90’s at Swale Dover Frowley all in Kent. I even built a VW Polo in 2013 to have a few meetings! Hope you all have a great Xmas Team Tebbz (LGC) Mick
Great podcast guys some good insights 👌 would be nice to see papa tebbz, Jack's and your race car's through out the years of racing in some sort of video collage?👍 i did national autograss for a number of years and they are long days racing like 20hrs in 2 days😮
Cheers mate, I'll get something put together in the future showing everyone 👌 and I've been to watch an autograss event, very long days for the amount of laps you get
my dad and some other thought up 1300s at alwlton peterborugh i'd guess late 80s as i have vids of him racing them in 91 ish then they was at track star and spedeworth around 93 ish
1300s started in Yarmouth, and was at a Spedeweekend in the 90s I think? The 2ltr Saloon Stox were getting too expensive and breaking the post and wire fences as they were getting stronger, lighter and faster. I remember the 1300s and they were all soft on the suspension and no negative camber on the outside front. Eventually they progressed into a mega formula, all Starlets and I raced these too (in a Sunbeam) in 1995/6/7 - Wimbledon, Rye House are the 2 tracks i raced at in the 1300s, raced with Colin Goodswin I think when he was a white top, Mark Smith and Darren Ahern had a head on at a Best in Britain - one of the highlight formula for a WF at Wimbledon back then - Daniel Wenn, Mark Wybra, Steven Jackson etc etc Steven Polly. Good days - Then I went Superstox in 97 (Rye House my first meeting), and won a big race in 98 (Wimbledon as a white top) - lots of stories I could bore you all with
@@lukegrief4284 ah right, I only remember a Yarmouth meeting and the program saying new stock car formula Never realised about the non Spedeworth part 👍
So much in common, i started racing in 1992 in a Volkswagen Polo Derby in the 1400cc stock class, and yes in front. I was thinking, gonna win this easy, the hole field of 25 cars past me twice 😅 Raced escort MK2 and MK1 as well Did oval racing about 17years Build all myself with a stick welder Got my first mig welder in 2001 As a gift from my girlfriend, she's my wife now, got 2 sons😊 I raced VW polo, escorts, sierra, Capri,Peugeot 205 1.9 GTi, stockar F2. Had good times back in the day, And after race party's 🎉🍻🍻 Are you on discord, btw? Greetings from Ernie 🤙🤙
Absolutely brilliant! Thank you
Cheers Tezza 👌
