ALFRED.S Really glad to hear that Alfred, really like to watch you play, glad that now you can play without any limitations :) As for those core clock changes, if you want to further lower down your temperatures, download ThrottleStop, open Fivr tab and there you will see turbo ratio limits and limit all to 38 or 37 (3.8 Ghz 3.7 Ghz) and you should see temps around 70 or less. But this is good enough. Keep your good work up :)
zikky6 yeah thanx! im also happy with this undervolt&underwat, about throttlestop thanx for explaining but i cant install it, and as you said its good enough so i will stay with XTU at those values:) thanx!
@@zikky6 hey zikky I have lenovo y540, I bought it today. I used monster hunter world and it became an volcano. which is weird . I didnt undervolt it yet. what applies should I do with the ThrottleStop? or the XTU?
Adelo Belo San Well, it’s running hot out of the box. I prefer Throttlestop because it has more utilities but you can use xtu for most important things. First you should click on TPL (turbo power limit) and change short power limit from 107W to 90 and long to 65W, this is very important step. After that open “fivr” and adjust core and cache voltage to -125mV, apply it. Download hwinfo and game again, if temps are still high but your computer does not restart or something, go lower, but do exceed 150 mV by much, if it restarts, try a little less. Also, there is turbo ratio columm in fivr as well, change all of them to 38. If you need help, look for adress that hot i7 8750 here on TH-cam.
I'm sorry, but what's the turbo boost power and turbo boost short power for? I have a Lenovo Y530 - i7 8750h and gtx 1060 6gb. What should be my values?
Fábio Pinto hi:) i cant really say because i dont know your system, but you need to see what is your default values on turbo boost power long & short, and then you just need to reduce the values a bit until you find the best values that you didnt get thermal throttling or power limit throttling, i can suggest on 90&32.5 without undervolting or 90&65 with undervolting, but you need to test it with games for example and you will know what is best for you:) Just keep the turbo boost short power higher than the long power
Hugo Kołątaj hi:) i reinstalled my XTU just to see my default and my default is 107&70 on turbo boost power, I dont know exactly what you need cuz you need to test it by yourself:) I can tell you that i usually use 45w&32.5 without undervolt when playing GTA V, When playing PUBG PC so 107&70 +undervolt to -0.165v it enough, When playing Apex legends so 90&65 + undervolting to -0.165v, I already tested few times and found whats better for me, test it by yourself and you will know also whats good for you:) *** if you have originally 90&60 + -0.140v so i know its undervolted from company already so you need to leave it like that, if its still does thermal throttling then change the values:)
Since i installed xtu turbo boost short power is 79 and long is only 20 But when i click on the exclamation mark next to the values it says that my default for short is 107 not 79 should i change the value to 107 or leave it as it is ?
Moez Mosbahi hi:) from what i know the default is 107&70, if you will put the 107, consider that you will get more power = more thermal throttling chance and high temps when having heavy processes, so i recommend to underwatt to some value that suit you the best without thermal or power limit throttling like 90&65 with undervolt, or, 90&32.5 without undervolt, you just need to find the best values for you:)
Hello I have i7 9750h rtx 2060 I use throttlestop for undevolting and XTU for stress test. But turbo long and short in XTU are 60 and 90. And in throttlestop are 70 and 107. So what settings must be laptop using? Should i underwatt both or uninstall one of the application??? And also cpu thermal throttling even after undervolting.any solution for this???
Bunny Nikhil hi:) about Throttlestop i cant help sorry i dont use it:) im using Intel XTU and My settings also 107&70 on turbo boost power as default, I suggest to delete one of them and stay with what more comfortable for you, i can tell you that sometimes even when you do undervolt it will get thermal throttling, in that case if you cant undervolt more so do underwatt, for example, When im playing GTA V im doing 45w on short and 32.5w on long without undervolting, event it has power limit it helps to keep good temps around 80 degrees, When im playing PUBG PC so i leave it on 107w&70w + undervolt to -0.165v, When im playing Apex Legends so i do 90w&65w + -0.165v, So you need to put in every game or heavy process different value and see whats the best for you:) thats how i tested it:)
Bunny Nikhil I have the same laptop, my recommendation is xtu, undevolting and setting up cpu and cache -0.130, and the power short 90 and max 55, and then put the Lenovo app on balanced, the machine going to running with wonderful performance and the temperature will be around 60-65 when before was 80-93. I tested it on fortnite, forza horizon and control, from 82-96 the temperature degree to 60-65 with similar FPS, I really can’t believe it.🤟
