That Billy can start playing "Kashmir" on the piano so that it's instantly recognizable with such ease is just mindboggling. You don't see that kind of talent in very many modern rock stars.
He's always had a great ear. Seen many videos where in the middle of an interview, someone will bring up a song that has had some sort of impact on Billy, and Billy sits down at the piano an eventually works out a handful of measures (if not the entire song).
All i gotta say is the bass melodies of Paul, the guitar wizardry of Page, the steady beat of Ringo and the piano finger dancing of Joel would be an amazing combo, what a fantastic supergroup it would be.
Best supergroup "Dirty Mac " with John Lennon, Eric Clapton Keith , Richards ( bass ) and Mitch Mitchell( drums). Unfortunately only lasted one song " Yer Blues ". Stones' Rock and Roll Circus .
So many to choose from. Billy would be a great addition to any musicians that got together and performed some completely new original material. The Wilburys were amazing along with the Highwaymen . As a music fan in general I can appreciate great talent in every genre. Bring it on if possible and let's be entertained.!!!
George Harrison was in that 'Superest" group too but he didn't have any problems joining up with Petty, Dylan, Lynne and Orbison. In fact, he basically started the Traveling Wilburys.
You Might have a super super group - not just 5 say Not an exhaustive list Drums - Ringo/Henley/Grohl /Copeland/Ulrich/Mason/Taylor Guitar - Page/ Young/Richards/May/Marr/Knopfler/Gallagher/Gilmore Bass - McCartney /Sting /Burton/Flea/Symonds Piano - Joel / John/King Vocals -Joel/John/McCartney/Grohl/Sting/Daltry/ Barry Gibb/Lynne/Dylan/Knopfler/Johnson/King/Plant/Springsteen/Stanley
Thanks Howard for posting.....now do not forget you told Billy you'd talk to Paul about possibly getting together and write some songs together!!!!Billy said go ahead and do it! Also think Jimmy Webb has a home in Long Island and "Mr. Tunesmith" knows a thing or two about songwriting, and Bill has sang a couple of songs on a Webb LP and know they are friends!! There you go Webb, McCartney and Joel a SUPER composers group!!:-)...and if you want a complete quartet, have Brian Wilson as well!!!!!
Seriously. This. Needs. To. Happen. If for no other reason then they'd have a blast, creatively. If something comes out worth recording, fantastic. If not, hey, they had a blast jamming.
Paul wouldn’t do it because he knows he can’t top the Beatles and he doesn’t need to try… A better thing would be Sting, Billy Joel, Annie Lennox, and Jimmy page
My Dream Supergroup is Paul McCartney, Ringo, Jeff Lynne and Todd Rundgren, doing mostly Beatles’ tunes, with some of their solo material. Now I’m thinking we should throw Billy Joel on keys into the mix as well…🤔🤞🏼😅
Billy understand how extremely difficult it is to bring superstars together..the clashes. The egos. The storm outs..the scheduling...the endless hours together..after being solo acts for a long time..its not as cherry as it sounds. Billy knows that..
That would be awesome to have a group with Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Jimmy Page, and Ringo Starr. They could write new music and do a tour doing new music along with singing Billy Joel songs and Beatles songs. That would be great!
Ngl, I'd love to see him team up with Def Leppard. That would be something. I ain't disagreeing with his choice - that would be amazing - but to see the king of the piano with the best band ever would be awesome.
@@peteespinosa2186 I suppose I just found it amusing that Billy mentioned Henley first and then when later asked about a drummer, he did not choose him. I just wondered if it had temporarily slipped Billy's mind that Henley is a drummer, due to his solo career where he is obviously the singer.
Not surprised Billy chose Ringo. Billy's always admired him, saying exactly what he said here: Ringo knew when to play what and when to stay out of the way.

Good luck Chuck, says it all
That's what they should name the band, if it happens. Good Luck Chuck.
@@thert.hon.thelordnicholson7261now that would be awesome!🤣
Please please please Howard, come through for this, don't let it be a joke... a supergroup would be so incredible
All i gotta say is the bass melodies of Paul, the guitar wizardry of Page, the steady beat of Ringo and the piano finger dancing of Joel would be an amazing combo, what a fantastic supergroup it would be.
and had Don Henley on harmony..😉
Billy's in a great mood these days!!!!
Hope you are too :)
He's rejuvenated and re-inspired from the new song.
Hes in a New York state of mind.
@@ChrisicolaOne of my favorite songs from him. 👍🏻👍🏻
I noticed that too
Howard singing is one of the funniest things ive ever seen. I dont know why but that just kills me.
Stern's got that one note down very well. Check out his interview with Dave Matthews as they discuss King Crimson. He does the same thing.
"Good luck Chuck" 🤣😆!!
Do it Howard!
That had me in stitches 😂😂😂
paul ringo page and billy joel! LETS F*CKING GO!
It's great to see you back billy what a voice I love your music
Wow, a piano version of Kashmir!
That was pretty sweet.
Did we forget that was precisely what John Paul Jones was doing with string effects as the output?
And he just starts playing it perfectly from memory, as if he had been playing it for years
It's just a basic ascending chord sequence, not Mozart.
...from Billy Joel no less! My mind is blown!!! 🤯
Best supergroup "Dirty Mac " with John Lennon, Eric Clapton Keith ,
Richards ( bass ) and Mitch Mitchell( drums). Unfortunately only lasted
one song " Yer Blues ". Stones' Rock and Roll Circus .
That group was named after Fleetwood Mac. At the time, John was a big fan - especially of their lead singer Peter Green.
Two songs, they did "Her Blues" too
One song, is not a Super Group. Even though I gotta say that, was pretty super!
Cream was a thing.
@@PrattDirkLerxstBeck on Lead Guitar ???
This segment is solid gold!!!

Billy Joel has good taste in musicians.
honestly! I thought Sting with John Mayer in his suggestion was a great idea
Billy played Zeppelin at his New Year's Eve concert on Long Island. Even when he plays Zeppelin you can hear Billy coming through.
Wow! Billy Joel!
My Favorite album glass house. Billy should have got the credit of his career early. GREAT Rock & Roll musician ever❤🇺🇸👍
That mini Kashmir cover went hard. Someone get Billy his supergroup!
Oh, I’m here for THIS!!
❤️🎶❤️🎶❤️🎶❤️
Howard is a great friend
Love this.. The kinda chats any music lover would have... Pick your supergroup 😂
My supergroup is Trey Anastasio, Page McConnell, Jon Fishman, and Mike Gordon.
George Harrison was in that 'Superest" group too but he didn't have any problems joining up with Petty, Dylan, Lynne and Orbison. In fact, he basically started the Traveling Wilburys.
George Was Phenomenal 🎶♥️🎶♥️🎶‼️
No “basically”, he did start it.
Only the King of all Media can broker such an historic band!
OMG you will be the wizard, Howard!
WHAT A BAND ❣️❣️❣️ HOPE THEY ALL AGREE 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤❤❤💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Howard really needs to make this happen. It would be amazing.
First time I ever heard something positive about Ringo's talent. And Billy backed up his claim with a musician's explanation.
You Might have a super super group - not just 5 say

MAKE THIS HAPPEN!! I’m in.💯💯
Make it happen Howard 🙏😀
Do it Howard, DO IT!!!!!!
For the love of God... Do this Howard!!!
Please, Howard make this Supergroup happen!!!!!
Imagine Howard Stern being solely responsible for the greatest supergroup of all time.
Pull those strings Howard!!!
That's one helluva lineup!!
I’m excited!
Billy can sing Penny Lane, Paul can sing Kashmir, Ringo can sing Still Rock&Roll to Me, and Jimmy can solo on everything!
Billy Joel's version of Hey Girl was a masterpiece and so was the original, too.
Thanks Howard for posting.....now do not forget you told Billy you'd talk to Paul about possibly getting together and write some songs together!!!!Billy said go ahead and do it! Call that band “The Billy Shears” 😂
Brilliant!
“Only A Man’s Peppers”
Seriously. This. Needs. To. Happen. If for no other reason then they'd have a blast, creatively. If something comes out worth recording, fantastic. If not, hey, they had a blast jamming.
We've seen super groups before... ego stroker and nothing else!!!
Paul wouldn’t do it because he knows he can’t top the Beatles and he doesn’t need to try… A better thing would be Sting, Billy Joel, Annie Lennox, and Jimmy page
@@lloydmoss217Annie Lennox on drums!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Getting both Ringo and Paul might be a tough task, but go for it. Just one of them at all would be awesome in any supergroup.
We need a Super Group! Do it!!
This would be fantastic 😂
Billy Joel in a supergroup: classic!
How awesome❤
I loved the Traveling Wilburys. Chuck, I hope you can get it done. I think Paul would be up for it. Kashmir on the piano. WOW.
Billy Joel Paul McCartney Joe Bonamassa and Don Henley
We are waiting for those calls, Howard!
Can't wait to see Billy in Vegas in November.
This would be Howard’s biggest contribution! Put that super group together
My Dream Supergroup is Paul McCartney, Ringo, Jeff Lynne and Todd Rundgren, doing mostly Beatles’ tunes, with some of their solo material. Now I’m thinking we should throw Billy Joel on keys into the mix as well…🤔🤞🏼😅
Respect to Ringo too! 🙇♂️
Yes, make that happen!
Go Howard!
Great idea!
Good luck chuck!!!!
Cant wait for it
Billy understand how extremely difficult it is to bring superstars together..the clashes. The egos. The storm outs..the scheduling...the endless hours together..after being solo acts for a long time..its not as cherry as it sounds. Billy knows that..
Howard, if you can make this happen, put me down for a CD!
PS - If Page is tied up, Keef and Ronnie are good in a pinch! 😮
The ending of this clip is the best part.
Billys cool!! Great attitude..
That would be awesome to have a group with Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Jimmy Page, and Ringo Starr. They could write new music and do a tour doing new music along with singing Billy Joel songs and Beatles songs. That would be great!
Make it happen! If anyone can do it, you can Howard!
He gave you the "go ahead" Howard... Make this happen!
Howard prepared for this one big time. He was on point
Yes!!! Call...Billy Joel's Super Group!!!
We need the Super Group to play next years Half Time show!!
Great hearing Billy give Zeppelin/Page some love
All three surviving members of Queen plus Billy would have been a fantastic combination.
Howard is on it! This is a hellava idea. Billy, McCartney, Henley,Elton.
I rather have Elton than Billy.
Love the Ringo props
Ngl, I'd love to see him team up with Def Leppard. That would be something. I ain't disagreeing with his choice - that would be amazing - but to see the king of the piano with the best band ever would be awesome.
Henley, Joel, Sting… that would have been incredible!
John Mayer playing with Billy writing holy sheeet balls!!!
Crap Bily and Paul would be a holy dream!
Billy, Paul, Ringo, Jimmy: The Fab Fogeys.
*BILLY BALD BALLS ALL STAR BAND:*
Billy Joel
Billy Corgan
Bill Burr
2:08 H auditioning for the group, billy didn't notice
Howard wants this more than him 😂😂😂😂
1:57-2:18... I can picture Elton John singing a song in the key that Billy played in this clip
Howard on vocals for the super group
That would be the greatest supergroup ever ,if page can't do it bring Clapton
Don Henley is a drummer.
And Ringo is a singer
They could have two drummers.
I'm for Henley as McCartney can be the Beatle in this supergroup, having Page and McCartney together would be cool 😎
@@kunutc4331I Agree With Billy…Ringo definitely doesn’t get the credit he deserves!
@@peteespinosa2186 I suppose I just found it amusing that Billy mentioned Henley first and then when later asked about a drummer, he did not choose him.

As long as their schedule and health allows I'm all for it.
Can’t believe Billy didn’t say he’d keep Liberty DeVito! He’s an awesome drummer and made the Billy Joel catalog so much cooler and more interesting
Has to be someone famous for a supergroup.
Howard Stern make it happen!
With Liberty DeVito on drums!
Take it as gospel this will be a stellar cast
Eric Clapton, Paul Mc on bass, Ringo and Billy!
Springsteen on backing vocals?
Amaing- please do it! Do it! :)
Macartny, Ringo, page you probably need to hang it up William. Now John Mayer that would be a good edition to a super group maybe Sling on bass.
Do it. These people need to have some fun.
RINGO YES.
Not surprised Billy chose Ringo. Billy's always admired him, saying exactly what he said here: Ringo knew when to play what and when to stay out of the way.
Alright, Howard.
You've got a big task in front of you.
Make it happen! lol
Sting, Joel, Henley, Page. I'd go with that.
‘You want Jimmy Page as your guitar player?’ ‘That would be great’ haha this conversation 😂😂😂
Harrison - also from the Beatles - was in the Travelling Wilburys ... so why not Paul!?!
Do it!!
this is interesting.. be nice if more of collaborations happen... just make good music,, dont let egos/money get in the way
Please do it
Do it, Stern
