Love the smile you gave when the song ended, just your smile acknowledging how beautiful the performance was.
What makes this performance even more awesome is.. its just one song of a set of six broadway songs presented in succession and broadcast simultaneously in a live streaming app. Each broadway song was presented with the applicable emotion befitting the story of the song. As one reactor said.. It is important to know the song. She does not just act out the song.. she becomes the song.
I remember this song “Memory” sang by Barbra Streisand and I love that Mori sings it in the same style. It brings poignant memories of my childhood days when every member of my family are still there and very much alive....
I learned a lot about vocal technique from watching your analysis, thank you! Only 2 female singers from the Philippines give me goosebumps every time I listen to them sing, Leah Salonga & Morissette Amon.

Great honest review. As you said she's truly awesome and definitely a world-class artist and needs to be given more exposure for the world to know and listen to her music. I suggest that you review her recent mashup of Moon River/Usahay (in her visayan Filipino dialect - with sub-titles) showcasing her versality in handling varied type of songs. Likewise, watch her live rendition of I Want to Know What Love Is, which she did 3 years ago. You'll be amazed with her longest whistle note ever! Morissette can sing any ganre ...she a suprano with 5octaves and 7 note amazing rifs and runs....clear and strong high note...beautiful and clear low notes ... can hold a note up to 18 sec with rifs and runs witn am eazz insane whistle notes with also rifs and runs with a word also...

amongst the plethora of so called voice coaches, vocalists, music grads, opera singers blah blah blah etc out there, i think your opinions and analysis is the most legit of all sir....you know what you are talking about and you most definitely seem to have the experience and knowledge to back it all up....when you have "doctor" before your name, it's kinda obvious....kudos.

i think this one of the rarest performance of Morissette that she did not try to own or interpret the song in her own style. This time she did not out perform Barbra Streisand's rendition of the same song. Both of them are really good in interpreting songs in their own way.
