I know this is an old play through, but I thought I'd mention that the Shrine of Bacchus ultimately causes the governor in the city to pick up negative traits. Anybody can enjoy a drink, but nobody likes a drunk.
Pro tip: Once your cavalry charges in and lost momentum, you can press Alt+right click and your cavalry will switch to swords. Swords do more damage to enemy infantry as your cavalrymen can hack more times per minute than using spears
I first started this game with Bruttii. I remember of writing everything I do for every turns when I was a kid. Like writing some sort of a story, reading it was just soo wonderful and exciting for me. Then I lost all stories somehow. Happy to see someone doing the same thing I do after all those years. Salutations from Turkiye, bona fortuna!
So happy you have come back to this! A shame that you have done so much of it already before the algorithm alerted me! Fun fact for the Julii temples - Both Bacchus and Jupiter give +10 total public order per level, but Jupiter gives a chance to generate a Priest of Jupiter follower every turn (+1 command, management AND influence!) whereas Bacchus just gives a chance to get the drunkenness trait (very bad!). John Black.
Just found this play through, and I'll be watching right through. Rtw easily best game ever. Absolutely love it! Looking forward to seeing how you keep control over the cities in the late game + expansion. It's where I often had some challenges!
Great episode! And I love that you hit the nail on the head with nostalgia. Juli was my first playthrough too lol i still remember getting my ass whooped by the Gauls every turn and hating them so much😂
Gauls, I hate Gauls, no seriously i do, i really really hate Gauls. Dealing with them right now as the Julii in the Barbarian Empires mod. I bet a large % of players started out with the Julii 🤔🤔
Based on Vibius being sent away to deal with carthage, I like to think he was nowhere near the favorite son. Hence he will get little to no support from the mainland. But he is determined to gain his favor (claim the heritage even).
So good to see you back mate! Looking forward to see where this goes! Loving the ideas in the comments already from everyone. You’re smashing it all ready, back yourself man!!!
Great to have you back, mate!! 😀 I hope you enjoy this series and would love to hear your thoughts on tactics etc. Hows things going at Doncaster Knights? Are you back from surgery now?
Aaaah, dude, not watched in an age as I got side tracked on DayZ streams and playing, which has taken over my life, so sorry I've not been around to support for so long. Glad to see you back on Rome tho, I just tonight finished the old HBO series Rome which I haven't seen in years. glad to see you still going and growing.
It's very nostalgic, I'll be watching more of this series if you keep posting. Also adding onto the roleplay, if you want to include the storyline that the Julii family were big spenders in Rome to gain support, and owed large sums of money that are due to the Senate via diplomats (a few thousand coins, an extra challenge)
They really were. Changed strategy gaming. Personally I don't think they would work on console. You've got to be so precise with troop movements etc - I just don't think the controls would translate or there would be a big enough market for it in the console space!
I used to build a fort where the leader was sat for 1 few turns, then have all recruits form up there from the 5 cities. Build up a decent army in 3 turns.
i apologise in advance, General, but Julii runs always bring me out in nonsensical responses like "Romanes eunt Domus" :P i apologise and will write it in letter 100 feet tall before sunrise - 100 times ;)
I'll keep an eye on mercenaries. As a member of the House of Julii, we're naturally arrogant and Roman 'purists', so prefer to fight with good Roman soldiers who are loyal to Rome rather than those who fight for gold or unwashed foreign savages. But we will take on mercenaries if required. We can always let them die first...
I'll get money through investing in infrastructure and trade. By sacking settlements unnecessarily, it will slow down future development which is going to be essential to flourish in mid-campaign. Being an economic powerhouse enables you to be a military powerhouse. Then you can steam roll.
Actually, the first faction I played as was the Brutii, not sure there was a good reason. But then, once I've defeated the Greeks, I abandoned them and started a new game as the Greeks, the first one I finished.
Has boobtube let me down on notifying me of your work, or is this a most welcome back to you, MR GI? :) Either way, WOOT to the new series, excited to watch! :)
A really nice start to a campaign I have been waiting for someone to put together. The use of profanity is so unprofessional, crude and makes it hard to watch. What a shame.

Is this an unmastered function only ?
No way! I've played this game for 2000 hours and I never knew that!

Gods, I hate gauls! 😅😂
I think by now we all hate Gauls ! maybe even a few Gauls are also hating 🤣🤣
I love this damn Game!

Still an amazing game in 2023, love the role play.
Well it is the Remaster 😀😀 but still the OG holds up very well. Best Generals speeches in the series.
This video came up as I was scrolling and immediately redownloaded this game and subscribed.
Mate!!!! Excited for this series
My man! This is the sort of comment that makes me want to record more ❤️
Welcome aboard, sir!
Just found this play through, and I'll be watching right through.

It's where I often had some challenges!
I'm downloading the game because of your video. Somehow, I'd never heard of the Remastered version. Thanks!
Good Luck with the campaign, enjoy your play throughs. This one definitely brings me back 20 years!
20 years ! ah how time fly's when you're having fun, now just 1 more turn...

it is Admiral Pumpout by the way!
Oddly enough i just started re-watching Rome around the same time as i had only just finished GoT. And then went out and started playing GoT mods !
Always love the start of a new series!!

I played the old version now your making me want to play the remastered
nice - great to see RR again
Love your video:))
So happy to see that people are still playing this amazing game !!
Still played by many, the Remaster gave it a boost as many of the old time favourite mods are being ported over.
@@IceniTotalWar So true !
bring back so much memories well played and nice play role i like it !
I am Atia of the Julii, I call for justice!
Pls keep this series mate, enjoyed watching it, before bed.
Quintus Julius committing warcrimes *lip bites*
You know it. No Geneva Convention so we in the green 😂
Total war games were fantastic back in the early 00's and still good now 24 years later. shame they haven't brought it out on console.
They really were. Changed strategy gaming. Personally I don't think they would work on console. You've got to be so precise with troop movements etc - I just don't think the controls would translate or there would be a big enough market for it in the console space!
Exterminating is 100% OK as long as it's against Gauls ! God's I hate Gauls .
Amazing video!
Really enjoyed this
Love what you're doing. Subbed

I'm enjoying this lets play. Don't forget about getting mercenaries.

looking forward to this series
make sure to get rid of the shrines of other factions as you take the towns
Always do 👍🏻 gotta get them shrines right.
@@generalincompetence5657 also you should ally the germans to keep in check the scythians until you are prepared to face them yourself
@@basilhssak203 the Julii don't ally themselves with barbarian scum. We'll take out all we find with ruthless efficiency.
Don't think as ally but manipulate to do our bidding and when their usefulness is gonna we are going to enslave them
Maybe we could vote for the next faction heir/leader, like a senate or popular election
YES! I was thinking this. We could have the sons vying for power, like a Roman version of Succession, and change the Faction Heir at some point.
great job thank you
Just found your videos. Great fun.
Question, why do you not choose a different option to earn coin when sacking a settlement early game?
I'll get money through investing in infrastructure and trade. By sacking settlements unnecessarily, it will slow down future development which is going to be essential to flourish in mid-campaign. Being an economic powerhouse enables you to be a military powerhouse. Then you can steam roll.
@@generalincompetence5657 Thanks for your swift reply. Think i'll try this tack when i start a new campaign. Currently playing as the Carthaginians.
Actually, the first faction I played as was the Brutii, not sure there was a good reason. But then, once I've defeated the Greeks, I abandoned them and started a new game as the Greeks, the first one I finished.
You are amazing!
Easily one of my favorites of all time I just wish the diplomacy options had been better that’s about it 😊

Is there a rome total war remastered in mobile ?
Is this on very hard difficulty ?
Was this on veryhard veryhard?
What difficulty is this?
How do you have 162 soldiers in a unit?
❤
thanks
Any mods?

Yo nerd
The worst thing in this game it takes 45 GB... dunno why???
