I would say she is a textbook singer but I don't think there is a textbook that can explain what she does and how she does it, she's just a one-off once in a lifetime ARTIST 🇬🇧🔥👌❤️.
Morissette is a master storyteller. And she has fully showcased this facet of her through her rendition of this song. It is as if she's pleading the man of her dreams to go back to her after they fell apart. This song is about a (wo)man who wants to be given a second chance for the wronged (s)he did to the one (s)he had professed to love in a great way.
Awesome reaction, as always! The R&B vibe of this song is fire!!! Morissette showcasing her versatility! Since you asked, the song is about a person who wronged a lover and is desperately begging for a second chance.
Thank you for this nice reaction, glad that you liked it! This was written by Jonathan Manalo some 20 years ago, and was originally sung by Erik Santos. It's about a person who's done something wrong to his partner (cheated maybe?) and is now asking for forgiveness and a second chance, because he truly loves her and he cannot live without her. Last year, in celebration of Jonathan's 20th year in the music industry, he did new arrangements to some of his songs, to be interpreted by other artists, and he chose Morissette to do this remake of "Pagbigyang Muli" (maybe translated to "Give One More Chance", or simply "Another Chance"). If you would be able to listen to the lyric video released last year, you would probably hear a "Mariah singing a Tagalog song", like the impression you had here while listening to this performance. This video is Mori's first live performance of the song in this new arrangement. I agree with your comments, her eyes are as expressive as her voice, we can see the sadness and repentance in them, she was not smiling throughout the performance as she usually does with her other songs, because that's what the song calls for. There is a good actress beneath that beautiful and powerful voice. She connects with the song and conveys the emotions to us her listeners. She just smiled and giggled after she finished. That's because she knows she and her band nailed and slayed it once again. 🥰
Beautiful song amazing singer beautiful rendition love that song
