    You got my attention when you mentioned Sonny in your list of the top 2nd gen banjo players. I was impressed to hear you mention Munde.
    You know the reason why the late 70’s - mid 80’s Goldstars are noteworthy is that the Japanese had an obsessive dedication to matching the original Gibson design and quality in every respect. They didn’t have the ultra fancy inlay patterns like RB-6 or the others like that, but the important elements were duplicated EXTREMELY close to what the pre-war Mastertones were and still are.
