Catching your most recent Sunday Summary episode on a Weds morning as I get ready for work. Nice! I worked part-time at a record store in college in 1987/88, and the store manager played that Paul Carrack LP over and over. Enjoying this new series, Darryl 😎🎶

Enjoyed this, Darryl! I love Crash Test Dummies, but I prefer their debut album, The Ghosts that Haunt Me. I find I am in the minority on that, though!

I'm just about at the stage where I can sing along to your opening theme song. It's really catchy!
I finally picked up God Shuffled His Feet this year after listening to The Ghosts That Haunt Me for the first time in twenty years. I still like the debut better, but side one of Shuffled is really good! Yes, they are quirky. The lyrics often sound like they were written by a man-child but there is a childlike charm to them.
That metal compilation is interesting because nearly all of the songs aren't considered metal these days and I would say the Slade and Rush songs weren't even metal back then. It is a great compilation of really good songs. I find the "that's not metal" argument is interesting because what is considered heavy metal or metal changes over time as metal moves into more extreme territories.
