LEK hotel is old but yes i found out the same - if you book online, you will get the rooms much cheaper. A friend just thought he could rock up and get the rooms at the same price but found out that he had to pay the 700 baht a night. He was staying next door for a bit at High Lords - the rooms are spacious but i think he was being charged 800 bahf a night and there was no free breakfast like the LEK Hotel has. There is a small swimming pool on level 3 at the LEK but its better than swimming in the ocean. The free breakfast is nothing to write home about but at least its something to start the day.

There are also rooms above the Anzac bar for 500 baht a night. But unless your out drinking all night, the noise until 1am does make it hard to sleep.

Jomtien population is mostly residents not 2 weeks tourists.
