hey Ankit..if i want to send any record from salesforce to external db; does platfrom events help me with this? as of now i am working with Object specific triggers; but i want to replace these triggers withsome generic form. will platform event help me in this? eg if i create an account record in salesforce it should automatically create a copy of same in external db as well wihout manual intervention
Platform events can do that, however change data capture will be a good option for you
@@TechJourneyWithAnkit thanks for the prompt reply Ankit...will look for change data capture, hope its a generic and not object specific like triggers
Hi Ankit great information, but I do have an query on CDC. CDC is mostly used on CRUD DML operation , so I have an record created need to send to external system let say I did it through CDC now. If I need to updated same record in a different transaction with having an external, how the make sure that external system will updated the same record. Your input would be greatly appreciated
You can use platform event pr while updating in cds add the external id
This man deserves more views and subscribers 🎉

Hello Sir, unable to understand one thing about Publish behaviour: publish immediately, what it means as you mentioned in slide "when publish call executes". As you said in example, the publish call will execute even when order creation/orthat transaction failed right?
yes, if requirement is whether your current transaction is successful or not, but you want to fire the platform event, go for publish immediately otherwise go for publish after commit.
Nice explanation sir. Can we receive the response from external system to Salesforce using platform event because using CDC it's a Push technology which will only send data to external system from Salesforce. So whats about Platform event, can it Pull data from external system to Salesforce?
Yes you can do that with platform events
Platform Events In Salesforce by Ankit is the best resource to understand platform events. Thanks!
